"Nice studio, nice terrace. View of the sea is not really applicable, in the far distance you can see a little bit of the sea. No coffee available, bed creaks but clean. Much too warm!!! You could not turn down the heating! That was a real shame because I was boiling hot during the night."

"We stayed at Hotel Monarc at the end of October 2025 and were impressed by its calm atmosphere, personal service, and prime location just steps from the beach and promenade. The booking process was professional, with a personalised reply from the team. On arrival, parking was straightforward, and check-in was handled directly by the owner in an efficient way. Our room felt bright and comfortable, with a good bed and quality lighting, though the curtains let in some morning light. The bathroom was excellent — spacious, spotless, and equipped with Rituals toiletries, good towels, and a rain shower. The breakfast was one of the highlights: a beautifully presented buffet with fresh orange juice, a smoothie, Moroccan tea, and a wide selection of products. The cosy room and attentive service made it a perfect start to the day. Hotel Monarc combines design, comfort, and hospitality in the heart of Ostend. The great room, the personal approach and top breakfast make it a hotel we would gladly return to."

Hotel Albert II Oostende

"Whist the hotel is beautifully located for the town and CHristmas markets, when we went there where some issues. There is a small lift to gain access or some very steep, unlit stairs, dragging your case up them was a life and death moment. We where checked in and given a room key (room 124) the room was 'small' but functional. The bed clean. Our main issue was the temperature. The room was really really cold. We tried to turn up the radiator but to no avail. We stayed at this hotel as part of a Christmas market package so arrived with approx.50 other guests who all complained about the lack of heating. some where given extra duvets, some electric heaters, we had nothing. The website for the hotel says there is a warm welcoming bar area,,,,,,this was not in operation when we went. Breakfast was advertised as continental, which it was, coffee/tea, orange juice, yogurts, pastries (mainy fresh) toast and scrambled egg and bacon. Sadly the warm food wasnt warm and the room in which we ate was also freezing , you needed to wear your coat while you ate. This is a budget hotel, we didnt expect the savoy, but the lack of heating made it really quite uncomfortable. Would we stay again? no, never. Its a shame as the building is actually one of the historic buildings in the town and potentially really grand and beautiful, but without heating , when its -3 outside and not much warmer inside, its not somewhere id like to go again.
