"This is a comfortable boutique hotel in Otaru. The room is cozy with the barrel the most interesting feature that doubles up as a table and a fridge. The buckwheat pillow is comfortable for a good night rest. What impressed me the most is the breakfast. There is a wide array of food including seafood and fresh milk. Onsen is comfortable too. Overall I will strongly recommend this hotel in Otaru as it’s still new and tip top service and amenities."

"Really enjoyed my stay at OMO5! It's my 2nd time in Otaru, and I stayed at Grids premium before - while the room size is similar, the amenities here are definitely better (very new, smart toilet, the bed is comfortable too!) there's a family mart right opposite & you can also walk to the shopping street + music box museum (it's a straight line so no GPS needed literally). Good location! Really love how chill this little town is & I will definitely come back to OMO5 the next time I am back"

"Pros: The location was great, very close to Otaru market, within walking distance. Having a dining table was convenient for meals. Cons: In the room, the shower drain was a bit concerning. The area around the shared microwave outside the room was messy. However, considering the price, I think I can overlook these issues."

"This is my 2nd time I stay in this hotel. I stay here 2 years ago. This time I booked the twin the twin need and the bed is arranged close to each h other without walking path in between. I found out that the facility is a bit run down such as the public bath area. There’s a loud noise not sure is it the sound from the pump. The sauna and outdoor pool is not open at night. The instant coffee provided dues not taste good. The location is ok except not much eating choice near to hotel especially at night."

"Right outside JR Station, super convenient. We stayed here 9 years ago too. Breakfast was great, and we booked a Japanese-style room. The hotel has an onsen on the upper floors, which was lovely. It's an easy walk to Otaru's city center, and there's a bus stop right across the street for Mt. Tengu."

"Very convenient! The hotel is right by the Otaru Canal, which is great. Parking is also cheap and it's easy to find food. The room is spacious and comfortable, and the bed is large and so soft it just swallows you up! I'll definitely stay here again."

"March 20, 2026 The hotel is about a 22-minute walk from Otaru Bus Station. The furthest I walked was to the vicinity of the Music Box Museum, which took about half an hour. I walked everywhere to save on transportation costs, and I felt it was a pretty ideal distance. On my first day, after checking out from my previous hotel in Sapporo, I arrived around 1:30 PM local time. The day before, the Trip.com app concierge contacted the Chinese owner, who said I could check in early for free. So, upon arrival, I just entered the main door password, went inside, and used the iPad on the table to scan my passport photo for check-in. It was incredibly smooth. I was so tired that I slept until dark. The property is a detached house (a 'one-family build' villa) with two floors. Each room accommodates independent guests. Only my room (104) and another room on the first floor do not have private toilets or bathrooms; all other rooms have en-suite facilities. So, I only needed to coordinate my bathroom and shower times with one other guest. There are two public showers and one public toilet. During my stay, the other guest and I were very considerate when using the facilities, and it didn't affect our usage at all, which was great. Room 104 is the first room upon entering, which was very convenient for my oversized luggage. The private room itself was also very spacious. On the table were bath towels, hand towels, and a one-piece pajama. I slept very well. The value for money is super high, and I'm extremely satisfied."
