"Extremely close to the Longmen Luoyang train station. Turn right out of the station, cross under the overpass, and you'll see the green sign about 300m away. The property is modern and well maintained, with none of the state cigarette smell that Chinese hotels often have. The room was comfortable with plenty of outlets and even a mini fridge! Water pressure was good and TreSemme brand shampoo and conditioner were available. Breakfast was good in both variety and quality. Vegan options included steamed corn, sweet potatoes, fruit, cold salad, braised tofu, and an oatmeal station with hot soymilk. There were also vegetable buns and youtiao but I don't know if those were vegan. Theres a basic gym and self-serve laundry room. It was nice to walk into the lobby after a cold day and warm up with the complimentary tea available. A taxi to Longmen grottoes took about 15 minutes and cost 10元. A Didi to Shaolin temple took about 1 hour by expressway and cost 190元. Overall I'd recommend this hotel and I would happily stay here again."

"It's located about 1km away from the ancient town, still walkable but if you're feeling lazy, just grab a bike at the junction will do. Perhaps the only downside is that it's located inside a rather dark alley, especially when the night falls. Also, there's no lift in the building but the owner will help to carry if you have big luggage."

"This boutique hotel/ luxury homestay is a perfect find. Nestled in the heart of the older part of the city, the hotel is a nicely curated property. The ambience and views within the hallways are picture perfect. Every small detail of every corner made you feel that you’re transported into a resort from an ancient era with a stylish modern twist. The room was perfect with a comfortable bed that makes it hard for you to part with. The water dispenser in the room was a very nice addition that made you not need to leave the room. Just a few things that could have made it more perfect. The open concept bathroom sometimes made the room have a slight odour. Floors to the shower were very slippery but they had adequate warnings about it. If the toilet had a bidet then it would be 10/10. The hotel also had no road access, apart from the parking lot at the back of it, so guests would have to navigate their luggage through the narrow hallways. Last but not least, their service was excellent. There was a welcome gift box with local snacks for guests. They even gave a check out gift with various Knick knacks that made guests remember them. Staying here definitely is as good if not better than some 4 or 5 star hotel chains."

"Loved the way the room was set up — a charming little space with a tatami mat perfect for enjoying tea. The ambience of the room is classy and inviting. The room attendants were also very helpful and polite, making our stay even more pleasant. The breakfast offered a wide variety of healthy and delicious options, which we thoroughly enjoyed each morning. The location is excellent, just a few steps from Lijingmen station, and very central to many attractions and points of interest. Overall, we had a wonderful 4-night stay and would gladly choose this hotel again on our next visit. Highly recommended!"

"My feedback using three C.- Convenient, Cleanness and Customer Service. 1st. C - the location is a 50meter from the Metro Station—no restaurants around the Hotel. We need to take two stations from the hotel to the Mall where there are plenty of restaurants and Shopping. 2nd Cleanness The room and the toilet are clean. The room furniture is not tired-looking. Towels are changed daily, and so are the shower Gels. 3rd Customer Service is helpful as they assist us in going around Tourist Sites via local Metro and Didi. Overall, it is worth staying in Luoyang. Recommend staying three nights in Luoyang. This hotel is highly recommended. . "i saw many positive reviews and was excited to see if it was reality... Simply put, its worth visiting Luoyang just to stay at May Fourth Youth Hostel. The level of cleanliness, amicability, overall positive yet low-key ambience should be the standard across the country. From the music choice in the lobby to the staff who run it, It's clear it has been designed and is run by people who really understand what it means to be a traveller and what makes a good hotel. The rooms are spacious (sometimes hostels can feel claustophobic - but not here), with beds having more space than typical, good quality pillow and duvets. Suited for both travellers from the east and west, there are seated and squat toilets, with a large array of showers. The washing machine is great (if they had a couple of good Dryers too that would be amazing), as well as the communal rooms with vending machines, pool table, and seating area (including the lovely quiet library space) The location is decent too, a spacious cultural park is nearby with the hostel itself tucked away from the main street, creating convinience but not crowds. The price is perfect! ideal for young people, students and solo travellers visiting on a budget. My friend decided to stay here two more days just because of the comfort and facilities. As both a foreigner and a woman, i felt safe and welcome here so i reccommend friends from abroad to come check this place out. Possibly the best youth hostel i've had the pleasure of staying in oh also the little cat is so cute !"

"I was visiting Louyang with my dad from New Zealand. We had a pleasant stay at the Mercure in Luoyang. The hotel was good value and had clean and spacious rooms. The building felt quite new and the breakfast was great with lots of variety, similar to other buffet breakfasts we had in China. The staff were super helpful, and held our bags as we had a late train after check out. One of the staff, Shirley, spotted us at the train station in the evening and went above and beyond to help us get on the train early and made the whole experience so much smoother. Her kindness and attentiveness really made a difference."

"The rooms are nice and cozy. The position is convenient if you need to stay close to Longmen Railway Station or if you plan to go to Longmen Grottoes. Their breakfast is also savoury and delicious. The hotel offers tours to main nearby attractions, including the Shaolin Temple. If I were to go back to Luoyang, I would likely stay in this hotel again."
