"This is an absolute gem among all the hotels I've stayed in over 15 years of traveling across 40 countries. The design of the rooms, corridors, and common areas is stunning and truly unique. There’s an arcade machine in the room with Nintendo games from my childhood… It feels like the hotel owner's personal signature style - and it's the most amazing highlight of this place! A special afternoon tea with fantastic cookies is a wonderful service. Breakfast is usually a buffet, as far as I understand, but on the day of my stay, there was no buffet, and breakfast was served individually for each guest. Still, it was very good and filling. The location is excellent - right next to the bus station. That means you can check in immediately after arriving from the airport by airport bus, or leave your luggage if you arrive early. Getting anywhere in the city is also easy, quick and cheap by local buses. The room was very comfortable: quiet and very warm (I stayed during the cold season), exceptionally clean, with a great bathroom, and everything was in perfect condition. The bed was very comfortable with amazingly soft pillows worthy of a high-end hotel - and they even provide several pillows with different levels of softness! The staff's attitude toward guests is excellent: I'm a light sleeper, and quietness is important to me, but in Asia this is often a problem even in expensive hotels. So when booking, I requested a quiet room on a high floor and away from the elevator - and my wishes were fulfilled perfectly. And for all of this, the price is simply incredible. This hotel is worth traveling to Yantai just to stay here! Overall, it's a masterpiece. The only places I've seen that are better are classic five-star hotels, but even they don't have such outstanding interior design and arcade machines. 😊 And if you were born in the 1980s, you absolutely have to stay at this hotel to play the games of your childhood on a real arcade machine right in your room. 😊"

"While the location is far from the city center, the beaches nearby are quite pleasant. There are many bus stops and it is cheap to move around. The room was clean and well kept and the breakfast service was varied. We enjoyed the pool and the gym. The staff was always friendly and kind."

"To start, I'd say by far the best thing about the hotel was the location. I didn't know when I arrived at 23h, but it was located close to a pretty busy tourist street full of bars and stores, not to mentioned being super close to the lighthouse. Being winter, and close to CNY, there was no one on the beaches, but I would imagine in the summer it'd be pretty nice. The hotel room was very nice, refurbished and the beds quite confortable. The breakfast was pretty good also if you like Chinese breakfast, and had some decent European style food that I haven't tried. Staff were very helpfull too I'd say it's a perfectly nice hotel, if I stop in Yantai I would go there again"

Blackout curtains, a slick Bluetooth speaker, and a well-stocked minibar made the stay extra comfortable. It’s clear they didn’t cut corners on in-room amenities. 3. Front-Desk service — Cici ! Shoutout to Cici at reception—what a gem! She was not only polite and efficient but went above and beyond to make sure my room preferences were met pronto. Now that’s what I call five-star service! 4. Anna’s Next-Level Attentiveness Big thanks to Anna from housekeeping. She promptly brought up bottled water, and when she realized I needed a disposable tub bag for the bath, she dashed back to fetch one. Now that’s going the extra mile! ⚠️ THE OOPS MOMENT: · Bathroom Blunder Alright, here’s the not-so-great part: the bathtub had a looong strand of hair (clearly from the previous guest). Yeah, not the end of the world, but for a hotel of this caliber? That’s a basic miss. 🎯 FINAL VERDICT: Stunning room, killer views, and staff like Cici and Anna who truly get hospitality right. But Marriott—y’all gotta tighten up the cleaning checks. If you do, this place would be nothing short of perfection. Still, would I recommend it? For that epic ocean view and standout service? Absolutely. Just maybe give the tub a quick rinse first."

"This hotel is amazing. The room is cleans and tidy, has a free bar and also comes with a super comfortable huge bed. However, what made my stay amazing is their service. Their staff are super friendly and greets you with a smile every time they see you. Also, i added their wechat before the trip so that i can deliver taobao. Since i do not have a local number i used the number of their hotel manager, kk. He helped me with all the parcel issues, ensuring that i receive them successfully before i leave. Their hotel breakfast recommended by him was also indeed really good and came with variety of options. I definitely recommend this hotel!"

"We only spent a single night at this hotel and mainly booked it for its good location. It turned out to be a really nice hotel though, very clean, with a nice bathroom, AC, everything you need. The room itself did not have a window - well, at least not a window leading to the outside. There was a window leading to some empty room between the hotel room and the hallway, which was nice though as they put a flower pot in there. People at the reception were really friendly as well. All in all a good choice."

"Our stay at Mercure in Yantai was amazing! 🤩 The staff was so polite and attentive to our needs. On our first night we couldn’t get much sleep because of the construction noise, so the staff moved us to another room that not only was so quiet, but it also had an incredible view! The breakfast has a lot of food options, both Western and Chinese, and we probably gained a few pounds. 😅 It’s not very far from the beach, around a 20-minute walk, which was very pleasant during the fall. We got to see some of the attractions by the beach, like the lonely whale. I definitely recommend this hotel if you’re thinking about going to Yantai for a few days to rest and explore the city."
