"Great location and friendly owner. I got this place because of the location & affordable price. This homestay also allowed you to try the traditional custome for free. What's surprise me is the free gift ( one bottle of fresh homemade chrysanthemum) after the check out. Worth the visit and nice ambiance. The design also great.. I called the homestay via trip.com call to inform them before my arrival and they can arrange someone to pick me at the entrance. The owner also can arrange for me on the next day send off to train station. I'm so satisfied with the arrangement and human touch of this homestay."

"This is an awesome elegant place with great location. We travelled from Singapore and booked 3 rooms, and everyone is very happy and impressed with the stay. Need to call (or weixin) in advance to arrange for a buggy transport into the village, helpful if you have heavy luggage! The service staff are friendly and approachable. They are thoughtful in providing tea souvenir when checking out. What mars the great experience was that on my return, realized to my horror that there is no tea in the Tea-box. So, carried a tea metal box across the ocean for nothing! Did not expect such a service slip for such a top-class hotel. Regardless, will still highly recommend this place if you plan to stay in the village."

"Great room with modern equipments. The mix between old and new was a good idea.
But big warning : we arrived, the room was disgusting. Hairs everywhere on the floor, bathroom with poop traces on toilets, surfaces like tables were dirty. Futhermore, we stayed 1 week. They changed the sheets, bathroom stuffs aswell and gave us water. But thats all. Not cleaning in a week. Please, you need to be careful about hygien because this is really scary.
Ps : the hotel manager was a kind person but sleeping and smoking on the coach isnt professionnel.
Pitty we had to do our cleaning because this could have been a awesome week on this accommodation."

"It is always a risk to travel by yourself , as a woman, and as a foreigner. Also, booking hotels online might be an adventure. Many places show photos that are not real, and when you arrive at the place, things are not what you expected. This place was the other way around: the reality was better than the photos. The place was spotless, the rooms were beautiful, and the staff was extremely professional and kind. From the landlady to Xiao Wan , the housekeeper , who is a force of nature, is intelligent, strong, and capable of solving any problem you might have. As a woman travelling alone, I always felt safe in the hotel, and my things were always safe. No danger here!. The rooms and the hotel combine the best of China, tradition and modernity. Beds are comfortable with traditional and soft pillows. Beautiful high-quality bedding. Great and comfortable sleep! Technology everywhere and modern amenities. The hotel is placed in the best place in hongcun. Close to everything but calm and quiet. Best views of the river!! I will recommend this with all my heart to all the travellers, whether Chinese or foreigners. If you go to Hong cun,this is the best place to be! I will be back with my friends and family for sure! "The Homestay is located not far from two of the entrances to the village of Hongcun, and one of the owners came and picked us up at the gates, and offered to carry our luggage. The house is very real, they have three lovely pets and are extremely welcoming and helpful. I speak a little Chinese so communication was fairly easy, but with the translation apps I guess it would be as easy. The owner was kind to explain a couple of things about the village and to give us helpful informations on our trip to Huangshan of the following day. She even made a phone call to ensure we could buy tickets at the departure of the cable cars. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is what we were looking for. Kindness and true people, and a charming room facing an extremely quiet (the village is loud of tourist shops) inner yard"

"The Homestay is gorgeous and I especially liked the wonderful historical decorations of the small yard and rooms. You need to contact the owners when you want to check in and they will pick you up from the next parking lot. You cannot drive your car to the yard. The yard is located right in the center of the historic village, which makes it very convenient to explore this place! The room had even a small whirlpool! The owners were very friendly and even offered us a free coffee!"

"Very polite and friendly customer service, felt very welcome when we reached. Staff was quick to respond to our requests.
The entire place was tastefully designed in modern Chinese style but retaining the roots or history of the complex. The bar and tea room was also stylishly furnished for a relaxing evening. I believe there are movie and KTV rooms at the basement across the restaurant. Along the way to our room, there were several artistic features, adorned with Japanese Maple and reed. The colour scheme and overall feel was relaxing and soothing.
Room was spacious with a garden patio, large indoor tub for onsen style soaking and bath, shower area, large bed and living area, and a separate room for storing luggage and clothes. We had a quiet room at a corner of the compound."

It's in a beautiful old building, very well preserved and refurbished, and in a great location: in the Xidi old town, but a little bit more isolated, in the more quiet and less touristy area. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very stylish, it even had a tiny annexed studio room with desk and interesting books with a good kettle and tea set available. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a very nice bathtub and heated toilet. Our host was super nice and helpful, he came to pick us up and dropped us at the bus station at the end of our stay. He's really friendly and gave us some nice tips on visiting the surrounding villages. He has a very cute dog and a cuddly cat :)
Only negative comment: the room's window is on the side of the main road, so you can hear all the cars passing by. But even then, a great stay!

MMisafir KullanıcıMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe stay at Hongcun Zuoxian Art Hotel was remarkable. Received a call from the host (小李管家) while on the way to confirm my arrival time and needs. She even helped me arrange a driver to pick us up from the Huangshan North train station at a reasonable cost. Driver (李师傅) was friendly and gave us lots of tips while visiting Huangshan and we ended up using his services throughout the 3 days we were there.
When we arrived, 小李管家 was right at the hotel entrance waiting for my for us and checkin into our rooms was a breeze. Rooms were clean with all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay. Most impressive was the hotel layout and design which was very artsy and minimalist for a place like Hongcun. It was simply amazing! Me and my family especially loved the lobby and the coziness especially in front of the fireplace during winter.
Hotel Location was within walking distance (200m) to Hongcun Ancient village and around 40mins drive to Huangshan mountain and around 1.5hrs drive to the Huangshan North Station or Tunxi Ancient Street.
Will definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends and relatives if they are planning to visit Huangshan one day!!!

We went from a sad and boring hotel in Beijing to this fantastic location and suddenly the whole trip was more fun and much more interesting. The host met us at the entrance to Hongcun and carried our luggage in the back of his little vehicle as we followed him around quaint buildings and through a narrow cobblestone walkway which was perfect for walking and pretty impressive to drive thru without scratching anything. After the beautiful walk we came through the most beautiful circle archway and into the cutest courtyard. We rented the room with a queen bed downstairs and 2 full beds up in the loft. The rooms were so cute we had to hide our luggage to do a full video tour to show our families before unpacking. The beds have mattress toppers which helped soften up the beds for us Americans. The host was very helpful and I would suggest getting WeChat to translate if you don’t speak Chinese. I don’t but it was easy to communicate. I would definitely stay at here again. Highly recommended!

LLipingismThis has to be the highlight of this trip to China.
Tachuan is almost a complete resort by itself. We had tea by the creek, main meals overlooking a gorgeous paddy field, read near a stream. There are little activity areas dotted around the resort where you can experience dressing in hanfu, practise the zither, as well as play chess or practise your calligraphy.
The staff has to be the best I encountered this whole travel, they went over and above what they needed to do, including bringing us on a hike to the nearby National Park. The National Park is a nice area to spend a morning at.
Ducks and rabbits wander freely in the estate, and there are 2 adorable cats.
There is free transport to or from Hong Cun, which is a Unesco village. Personally, I should have just explored Hong Cun for a afternoon and still return to stay another night at Ta Chuan, instead of spending one night at Hong Cun

TTheodoraDeaWe absolutely loved it here. The hotel is located literally at the Moon Fen. The famous «running on water» scene from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Hongcun is ver beautiful city. The hotel is a small cosy and beautiful hotel with efficient and friendly staff. It was the perfect location for us when exploring Hongcun and nearby activities and attractions like Mukeng Bamboo Forest, Huangshan Mountains and Xidi Town. 10/10 recommend.

CCharlie M DeanZhang Mansion is a peaceful oasis from the hustle and bustle of the ancient village, its decor and furnishing is fitting with the historic setting but with modern, clean and comfortable amenities. Would definitely stay again and would strongly recommend to others!
Hotel manager was very communicative, but you need to have WeChat. They can communicate in English by message with you.
The rooms were stunning, service was excellent and the communal areas were beautiful and comfortable.
Hotel breakfast was freshly made and they were able to accommodate our requests.
Some of the rooms require ascending steep stairs, so if you have accessibility needs it would be best to inform the hotel in advance. Bedrooms are comfortable and cosy. The addition of the tea ceremony area is brilliant. The mattresses and bedding were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean with good pressure hot water.
The hotel also put us in touch with a honest and reliable driver that we used for transfers from the bullet train station as well as a trip to Huang Shan (yellow mountain).

GGippiThe property is located in the heart of Hongcun, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the historic village on foot. As guests, you’re also entitled to discounted entrance tickets: just let the ticket office know you're staying here and they'll give you 50% off tickets. Room was exactly as in the photos, spacious, perfectly clean and featured a very comfortable bed and many accessories (bottled water, tv, haircomb, hairdrier, etc). The building’s traditional Chinese architecture was absolutely beautiful and on a rainy day, it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They kindly met us to guide us to the hotel (since Apple Maps and AMaps can be a bit confusing in the area), provided umbrellas free of charge and even bring us back to the parking lot when we left. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Hongcun!

LLanyangyangyalanyangyang這次黃山之行，最意外的温暖竟來自黃山悦榕莊的全程陪伴 —— 從踏入酒店的那一刻起，就被工作人員的熱情周到裹住，到後來的房型升級，更是讓整個旅程的幸福感直接拉滿，忍不住想好好説説這份用心。
剛到酒店門口，就有工作人員笑着迎上來，辦理入住時，不僅耐心地給我們介紹酒店的設施、周邊的遊玩路線，那種妥帖不是刻意的客套，而是像朋友般的真誠關照，瞬間掃去了趕路的疲憊。
原本衹訂了基礎房型，前台管家Jeff提前聯繫了我們給我們升級到了自駕雙卧別墅，當下真的又驚又喜！推開門的瞬間更是忍不住感歎 —— 這哪裡是 “升級”，簡直是跨越式的驚喜！房間自帶一方小庭院，坐在露台就能望見遠處層疊的羣山黛色，室內的佈置也滿是細節，柔軟的床品、貼心備好的黃山茶包，連衞浴間的備品都透着精緻。後來才知道，這是酒店為了讓客人更好地感受黃山之美特意安排的，這份不期而遇的用心，比風景更讓人難忘。
整個入住期間，無論遇到什麼需求，工作人員總能第一時間迴應，每一個細節都透着 “把客人放在心上” 的誠意，沒有轟轟烈烈的服務，卻在每一個小瞬間讓人覺得踏實又温暖。酒店萌寵樂園的小兔子，是這次入住最治癒的小驚喜！
