The owner is incredibly friendly and kind, offering luggage pick-up and drop-off services throughout our stay. They also thoughtfully arranged for us to dine at excellent nearby restaurants for lunch and dinner. Upon checking in, we immediately headed to Wanxing Tower near the guesthouse for stinky mandarin fish and rice with vegetables, which, unfortunately, were quite bland. However, the design of Nanhu Guanyuan itself is very refined and tasteful, and the breakfast spread offers a great variety, perfect for a heartwarming and satisfying start to the day. The guesthouse is exceptionally close to the Nanhu and Yuezao attractions, making it easy to take leisurely strolls in the morning or evening and soak in the beautiful, misty江南 (Jiangnan) scenery. My trip to Hongcun in Anhui was truly delightful, and staying at Nanhu Guanyuan made it even more enjoyable. Plus, the scenic area's parking lot charges a maximum of only twenty yuan for both day and night, which is incredibly good value."

"My best friend and I came here specifically for a traditional Chinese photoshoot, and this place was perfect. Courtyard No. 1 is small and tranquil, ideal for some quiet time, while Courtyard No. 2 is spacious with horse-head walls and lush greenery, making it easy to capture stunning photos – a courtyard advantage that other guesthouses in the area don't have. It's just a two or three-minute walk from the South Gate, and someone was there to help with our luggage as soon as we arrived."

"Great location, right by South Lake. We stayed in a loft and the kids loved climbing up and down. The staff were super friendly and helpful, they even picked us up and dropped us off at the south gate and were always ready to assist. The place was clean, tidy, and had a lovely vibe. What really stood out was their food – freshly cooked and delicious, at reasonable prices. My two kids absolutely loved it, highly recommend!"

"Hygiene: Overall, it was excellent and very clean. Environment: I have to say, having such a large courtyard inside Hongcun is truly impressive. The courtyard is very well-maintained, and my mom absolutely loved it, taking tons of photos there – it’s very photogenic (Picture 3 shows a corner of the courtyard). Facilities: The only thing that I feel needs improvement during this stay is the air conditioning in the room (only for the room I stayed in). We visited during the plum rain season, so it was a bit stuffy and humid. Turning the AC up made it a bit too cold, but turning it down didn't seem to do much, although it was functional. I suggest it might need some maintenance or repair. Service: The service here was absolutely top-notch! The pick-up and drop-off were very prompt, and it’s very close to the West Gate parking lot. I paid 20 RMB for 24 hours of parking at the West Gate. The driver, though a man of few words, was truly wonderful. When he took us to the parking lot, he even drove his electric scooter to help us buy bamboo shoots because my mom loved them, haggled for us in the local dialect, and helped us pick out four really good ones! I usually don't spend time reviewing hotels and restaurants, but I just had to leave a good review for this driver! Additionally, the B&B is incredibly close to Moon Pond, just a few minutes' walk away, and about five or six minutes to South Lake (I walk quite fast). It's perfect for getting up early to grab a good spot for photos, as it gets quite crowded even by 7 AM now. Staying here gives you a big advantage for early morning photo ops. There are B&Bs around South Lake too, but I personally think they might not be as quiet as this one. Secondly, for food, I had both of my meals at the B&B, and the food was excellent, especially the stinky tofu. I've been to Anhui several times, and I've never had good stinky tofu until I ate it here – it was the best I've ever tasted (though not cheap). While the price was a bit on the higher side, we (two people) finished everything, which is better than paying for food you only eat a few bites of and waste. The rice was also very well-made; my mom, who is quite picky about food, ate a good amount. Plus, the restaurant faces the courtyard, offering a nice view, and dining is quiet and comfortable. Finally, the hand soap and toiletries were all quite good; my mom even found the toothbrush so comfortable that she took it home! 😅 This is definitely a B&B I would recommend to my friends."

"After work, I took the high-speed train from Ningbo to Yixian East. After arriving, I could catch the latest bus to Hongcun at 21:30, which was only 8 yuan. When I arrived at the Hongcun Passenger Transport Center, I called the boss to pick me up. The boss's tricycle was also quite cool. It went directly to the B&B. I took a short video in the room, but I couldn't upload it. It was really beautiful! We arrived late in the evening, and the boss's wife went back to bed after I went out to buy dinner. The next day, after visiting Hongcun, a friend came to pick me up from Huangshan, and we had a simple meal at the B&B. It was really delicious! I have been away for 2 weeks, and I still miss the meals she cooked. They are really delicious. I finally understand why the dog is fat. Because they are so delicious and can eat delicious food every day. It especially likes to eat chicken, which also helps us solve the problem of food waste. It was a great experience. I will stay here again if I have the chance to go back to Hongcun❤️"

I strolled through the ancient street in the morning and wandered the lotus pond rice fields in the evening with the evening breeze. I immersed myself in the relaxation and tranquility of the ancient village. Every time I return from play, the proprietress will always carefully prepare freshly ground coffee, fragrant green tea and seasonal fruits, and leisurely afternoon tea has become a small beauty that heals the hearts of the people during the journey. The rooms are spotless, the bedding is soft and skin-friendly, the bathroom is clean and dry, and the small details are exquisite everywhere. You can see the owner's careful aesthetics and meticulous care. There is also a small refrigerator to store the fruit and drinks. We choose to dine at the homestay for three meals throughout the whole process. The dishes are varied and delicious. The boss who has excellent cooking skills must praise it! "After a few days of exploring Huangshan, we returned to the hotel. It's a 5-6 minute walk to the main scenic area of Hongcun, so there's no need to rush around with luggage. The spacious living room features a tea table, a rockery, and a boat – sitting there and daydreaming feels like stepping into a painting. The biggest surprise was the fully automated guest room controls; lighting and curtains were managed with a single touch, and the smart toilet was incredibly convenient. Every detail reflects the thoughtful touches of a high-end hotel. The shared facilities were top-notch: a bright and clean laundry room ensured clothes were always fresh, the rooftop infinity pool offered panoramic mountain views, and there was a fully equipped gym where you could relax and rejuvenate after a long day of sightseeing."
