"Overall a positive experience here at the Highland hotel. The foyer feels very luxury and the building definitely feels it has some age too it. This does come with the downside of a smell of oldness but its not a bad smell and not noticeable for long. Rooms are clean as was the bathroom, had all the essentials you need, plenty of plugs and the room itself was large and roomy. Others have complained about it being cold but we found the heating to be fine and the beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and for only £56 it was a great value stay. Recommend 👍"

"Excellent hostel! Great common self-catering facilities; there were two full kitchens with plenty of tables and seating so multiple parties could be cooking at a time. Staff were very helpful and let me leave my bag before check-in and after check-out to accommodate my bus times.
The room (4-bunk female dorm) was very spacious so plenty of room for sorting through my bags. Bunk was large and included a USB plug and power outlet there. Room had large attached shower and toilet rooms."

"The room is spacious and clean. The only hiccup was that, at first, we got a room with a double bed despite booking a family room on Trip.com. When I asked the reception staff, she said there was no family room per se in the building, and in the booking that they had, it didn't say that I wanted a family room or how many people would be sleeping in the room. For them, a family room is a room with a double bed and an extra bed. The staff managed to change our room to one with an extra bed ready, so it wasn't a problem."

"Service throughout our stay was freindly and Prompt, breakfast was very sizable with plenty options and was all quite fresh tasting. Rooms were clean and had all we needed in them, tv was showing it age and there was a strange smell in the corridor and into the door but that was the only faults we had. Very enjoyable and well recommended. Added point Young man at the desk for morning and when we checked in went above and beyond during our stay."

"A good stay at this Nairn hotel. It was further from Inverness than we expected but that was no big problem as Nairn is such a nice little town to explore so the hotel ended up being perfect. Clean, good service and with a welcoming smile from a great reception desk. It is a bit creaky but once everyone had settled down I had a decent sleep and the breakfast was excellent. Thank you."

"The compact room I stayed in was lovely. Comfortable, clean and warm. The staff is attentive and informative. The location is outstanding as everything is within a walking distance. The hotel is surrounded by coffee shops, bars, restaurants and grocery shops. Next year I would definitely stay here again."

MMisafir KullanıcıFirst let me say that the owners were incredibly kind and accommodating. It pains me that to even write this but I thought fellow travelers should hear my experience. First, there are two aye stays in Inverness. My gps took me to the wrong one first. That was awkward. After I finally figured it out, the place was very cutely decorated with Scottish and Loch Ness decor. Contactless check in was easy however a board with everyone’s name and room numbers does not feel super safe for me a solo female traveler. But over all easy enough. Next I stayed in room 7 which is up a flight of stairs so make sure you pack light! (Which you should do anyway in Scotland.) My room had just been renovated with new carpet but it smelled like off gassing and I had to open the window (which was broken) there was a radiator for heat which I had no idea how to use. So it got a little chilly. Now here comes the problems: the rooms are very close together and the walls are paper thin. I was kept up until 3 in the morning hearing conversations and snoring. We were only given the choice of receiving breakfast between 7:30-8:30 in the dining room. So I woke up earlier than I would have liked to eat breakfast. Which was just okay. Nothing too outstanding to write about but again the hostess was very sweet. Overall I could see that they’re trying their best. But I would recommend sound machines in each of the rooms or something so people can have a good nights sleep. The location was pretty good and just over the bridge from the high street.

MMisafir KullanıcıGood hotel but, for their regular double room, over priced. The Glen Mhor is basically a collection of former B&B establishments which have been taken over and redeveloped. This means that the majority of rooms are in neighbouring buildings so a bit of a walk is involved! I have stayed here before and each time found myself in a small double room. They are clean, well decorated and fine for an overnight stay. On the downside, they tend to be so small that there is no room for a chair or workspace. This time around we opted for the breakfast package. The restaurant was right at the opposite end of the complex but the walk along to it was pleasant. The breakfast itself was excellent. Staff were incredibly attentive and the range of food on offer was very good.
Would I stay again? That would depend on the package on offer. I wouldn't opt for a 'room only' given the small size - there are plenty Premier Inns around which, to be fair, are of an equal, if not higher standard to the standard double rooms at Glen Mhor. Location is excellent for the city centre and depending when you travel, there is plenty parking available.

The hotel toilets were in need of an attendant checking regularly .
We ended up laughing about it with references to faulty towers.
However our room was beautiful, clean, well presented, the bed was very comfortable. We had a great night sleep.
At breckfast the arm of my chair was loose and lifted up when I would go to move my chair in/out from the table. When I was looking around the continental breckfast counter I could hear a male member of the kitchen staff shouting and swearing using the F word, not at all what I expected from any Hotel.
Lasting impression I would not rush back.

MMisafir KullanıcıWe were supposed to stay a night on the 3rd, however due to total disaster with the snow (police closing roads, snow gates shut, buses not running, train cancelled last minute) we were unable to travel and had to cancel the onwards travel plans. We explained the situation providing evidence that it was not possible for us to get anywhere and kindly asked if possible to amend to another date, but were refused.
Stayed in the hotel before, not a bad place, but very disappointed that they had not been more understanding of our already disrupted start of the 2026.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe shared kitchen is a big advantage for families and adds to the overall travel experience. The self-service check-in is convenient, and detailed guidance on how to find the house was provided in advance. A small grocery store can be found within a 10-minute walk.
I came across some negative comments about the hostel after booking and felt a bit worried. However, it turned out to be a nice place to stay — it's not a 5-star hotel, after all. Free Wi-Fi is available, and the passcode can be found on a noticeboard.
