"My family had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It is conveniently located on the upper floors of AMU Plaza, right next to Kumamoto Station, with a dedicated elevator on the ground floor that takes you directly to the lobby. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are consistently friendly and polite. The only minor downside is that the breakfast selection is a little limited. That said, the hotel’s excellent location more than makes up for it, as there are plenty of cafés and restaurants just steps away in and around AMU Plaza."

"Very nice hotel. We planned to parked at the hotel but the staff suggested a cheaper parking lot nearby with only 1200 yen for one day (until 11am which is check out time). The check-in was smooth. There is a self service machine, but we went for check in with the staff. They were very polite. As for check out, you just need to put the card into the machine, and that’s it, super convenient.
The bed was comfortable too. Toothbrush, toothpaste, hair wash, conditioner, shower gel, clothes (on the bed in the picture), electric kettle were provided as well. You can use hot or cold water from the tap directly.
Grids hotel’s location is strategic too. There’s a mall and eateries in a walking distance. Recommended!"

"Расположение отличное: близко и станция метро, и автобусная остановка, и при этом очень тихий район, потому что отель расположен не у дороги. Прекрасное место! И парк Суйсендзи в шаговой доступности (очень красивое место!)
Номер был просторный, чистый, уютный. Все удобства присутствовали, всё работало.
Хозяин встретил, всё показал, объяснил, проводил до номера.
Слышимость в номере очень хорошая, поэтому если это принципиально – обратите внимание, но мне это было не так важно, поэтому в минус не ставлю.

"The hotel is very accessible. It is inside the mall. The bus terminal going to airport is just underneath.
So many restaurants and there is a family mart too.
The hotel is new and as expected is not so spacious but the breakfast is good and staff are really accommodating.
Highly recommended this hotel if you are traveling to Kumamoto. Kumamoto castle is just 15mins walked while Shimotori Shopping Center is just 5-10mins away. We are also very lucky to witness their festival since the parade happened around the area.
The Great Festival of Fujisaki Hachimangu Shrine (or Zuibyo Festival), held every September. Its so fun🥰🥰"

"Hotel is clean and the self service lounge is great. Has alcohol, soft drinks, instant noodles and nuts.
However the hall way smells a bit off and the front counter service is lacking. Ask to exchange notes and they refused on both occasions. Not great at all."

"Hotel Nikko Kumamoto maintains very high standard of service. Greeters were always smiling at the hotel lobby and lift area. We were lucky to get a Room with Castle view. Location was perfect, right opposite Tsuruya Departmental Store and beside Shimotori shopping srreet. Breakfast spread was excellent. Highly recommended!"

"Omg, to cansel another hotel and change booking to this was my best decision!
A had awesome view! I really enjoyed it during the late evening, check the photo.
Breakfast was so good, I never leave dinning area hungry. Lovely! In case the space is full, you can take it to your room. With that view, I wasn't against 😉

"Our room hadn't been cleaned properly: we found dust on the floor and traces of dirt on the toilet. The room, on the 13th floor, was noisy (like a motor or a fan running all night above the ceiling). The room is spacious but not very functional. Other than that, the hotel is in a great location, the staff is friendly, and the amenities are excellent."

"Staff were nice, a couple of them speaks English well. Our twin room with sofa bed was adequate. Sofa bed has seen better times n can feel the springs, not for someone who is on heavy side. Location of hotel is good. We love the hair dryer, Refa brand, top notch. Parking cost ¥1000 per night. Just behind is the shopping street and ard 15 mins walk is a big shopping mall, Sakura Machi. Kumamoto Castle can be seen opposite the hotel but if walking is still not so near. We decided to check out of hotel and drove to the castle. There are a few parking lots near to the castle but some need to walk longer."

MMei samaWhen I first arrived in Mitsui Garden, the staff already showed me great attitude - letting me use their lounge for free while I needed to wait for my check in time at 3pm. During my stay, all staff showed their professional and nice services. The best part came from my own room - Kumamon standard queen room. Everything was enough - the size, the atmosphere, the decoration, THE CUTE BATHROOM - made me feel like home immediately. Very close to Sakura Machi Kumamoto Shopping centre and Bus station, and Kumamoto Castle, Sakuranobaba Jousaien… all were in walking distance. Very friendly in all the ways possible I should say. 10000000/10 👏

BB_BClean, Convenient, and Family-Friendly Stay
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. If you're planning to drive, please note that the hotel does not have free parking spaces. However, there are nearby paid parking options just a short walk away, so it's still quite convenient. There’s also a convenience store located right across the street, which is a big plus.
Check-in and check-out are both quick and hassle-free, thanks to the hotel's automated machines. The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable, and the room was spacious enough for my child to run around comfortably.
One feature I especially appreciated was the in-room washing machine along with a heated drying rack and rail in the bathroom—super handy when traveling with kids and needing to wash their clothes. Nightgowns are also provided, just like at another Fav Lux hotel I stayed at in Nagasaki.
The room is equipped with a full set of kitchen appliances, perfect for light cooking or preparing fruits and snacks.

Eez62Although they have a private carpark by side of the hotel, there was a parking fee charge of 2,000yen. But you're guaranteed a parking spot if you come back later at night.
There are more parking lots in the multi storey carpark by side of the hotel. The hotel is very clean and I think it's relatively new. The front desk reception was very friendly n helpful.
They also have a guest lounge on the ground floor next to the reception. Free flow of coffee and soft drinks plus some alcohol choices like sparkling wine. The lounge is open to hotel guests from 3pm to 11pm. They also provide coffee to go.
The first 2 pictures is the view from our room. Across the highway from the hotel there's a Daisy & an Aeon supermarket. Very convenient to grab some food n light groceries. It's a good location to be in. I'll definitely be coming back to this hotel.

TTraveller CI stayed at this hotel twice. The second time (this booking) we had a room on the older (?) wing and it was almost twice the size of the first one. So for this review I will only share feedback on this “older” room.
This room was big and thus good for us as we had 2 large luggage and more space in the room allowed us to open and pack our luggages with ease.
The bathroom was large with the large traditional bathtub. Toilet had bidet and etc but lacked heating which made it very cold in the winter. Basin tap was still the old turn types which was not eco friendly as it’s more difficult to shut it off.
Location was just opposite the train station which was excellent. But the nearest convenience store is also only at the train station which is about a 5-7mins walk away.
Breakfast was curated to suit the Japanese palette more and ends at 9a.m which is really way too early!!
We left something behind in the hotel but they managed to send the item back to us at our new hotel (still in Japan) which was highly appreciated.
Despite a few minor shortcomings listed above, the pros still outweigh the cons and I’ll definitely be happy to stay here again.

CChubby Girl On Tour🛍️ The hotel is conveniently located just behind SAKURA MACHI Kumamoto and is a mere 10-minute walk from the main shopping street. It is also surrounded by tram stations, making travel easy and accessible.
🚙 Although the hotel does not have its own parking lot, it offers discounts at nearby parking facilities. I found it more convenient, however, to park at the lot directly in front of the hotel for 1,400 Yen per night, which is almost the same price as the hotel's discounted options.
🛌 The room size is typical for a Japanese hotel with two twin beds, but the bathroom is slightly larger than average. The only downside is that one of the beds is positioned too close to the window, meaning you'll sleep near the curtain, which is a bit dusty.

MMisafir KullanıcıI honestly do not know where to start, I booked the hotel without really knowing much about Kumamoto Prefecture. After arriving in Kumamoto City and then realising Ueki Onsen is another 40 minute bus ride I was thinking oh dear where am I staying. After arriving at the hotel I was greeted by the manager of the hotel who showed me to my room and gave me a tour of the facilities. Once settled in I realised there isn't great public transport around and I primarily wanted to see Beppu and Yufuin during my stay, I enquired with the manager on where I might be able to rent a car, with little to no Japanese language under my belt he took it upon himself to reserve a vehicle for me and offered to drive me himself to collect it. He then also said he would take me back to return it a few days later. After my trips to Beppu and Yufui village (Not to be missed) and not to miss the outstanding and beautiful surroundings in Uekimachi and the Aso region. The manager and I set off to return my hire car, on the way back he took me to Kikuchi shrine to pray and also gifted me coffee and cake. They also accommodated me with use of the on site onsen (amazing) after hours as I'm heavily tattooed. I feel truly grateful to have found this hidden gem of rural Japan and if you are thinking of traveling this great country I emplore you to go off the beaten path. I experienced untold kindness during my stay and have memories of a life time. Thank you so much guys
