The location had great views over the valley, including the early morning sea of cloud. The property has a rooftop lookout that our group could get together to enjoy the view. It helped that our taxi could drive through the narrow road of Mengben village and deposit us and our luggage on the doorstep of the homestay. This is unlike Wengji & Nuogang villages, where cars are not allowed to enter the village but deposit visitors at the village carpark. The hospitality of the owner/hostess was remarkable. She had a Pu'er tea table and made us endless cups of different tea all grown in her farm, explaining their differences and virtues. She did not charge us a cent for the whole experience. Neither did she try to hard sell the tea leaves although we did buy a small amount off her because we enjoyed the tea. She is a good cook and whipped up breakfast and lunch for us.

Exceeded all my expectations of a boutique homestay with only six rooms . Ultra luxury linens and beddings , ,Panasonic view of sea clouds at the confer of your bath tub , tasteful contemporary chinese interiors , and to top it all , run by a simple humble couple who goes to ends to make your stay a comfortable one . When you stay for 3 nights or more , they cook up a storm of local delicacies for your dinner , on top of daily breakfast! Do be prepared breakfasts are local style . Bit there’s a great cafe nearby service Arabica yunna beans and it’s become one of my fave ! Def great value for money !

酒店房間硬件設施過硬，房間探出崖壁，在陽台上並沒有懸空感，卻視野絕佳。除夕站在陽台上，觀看遠處寨子燃放煙花，簡直是視覺盛宴。初一晚上西雙版納地震，房間也有震感，但由於房間電視上能及時播放預警訊息，讓人踏實不少。酒店美中不足的是，總共就十多間房，春節期間竟無法滿足用餐需求，而且還未提前告知。作為攜程主推酒店，稍顯尷尬。

新開的民宿，老闆很熱情健談，還請我們喝茶，送的早餐也很好吃。推薦

老達保寨開發比景邁山早，但名氣沒有景邁山大，有幾家客棧，飯店和咖啡店，不怎麼商業化很安靜。這家條件不錯，衞生也可以，木屋隔音不好，好在兩邊隔壁客人都不吵鬧。午餐晚餐去隔壁吃，跟這家老闆娘是倆姐妹。早餐要去停車場吃米線，這裏冬天7:30天亮，早上8:00才正式開始賣。

Everything there was very good except for the restaurant sevice. Don't order the pineapple fries rice: the pineapple was sour and hard with only 2-3 spoons of rice. Maybe it was not the season for the pineapple in December.

欲遊景邁住茶源， 環境清幽場地寬。 免費茶台隨便飲， 房間乾淨有花園。 老闆熱情真好客， 停車方便設施全。 最是家中小女兒， 宛如天使降人間。 非常好，老闆娘人特別好。性價比很高。

五星好評！ 這次入住體驗太棒了！民宿位置很好找，就在寨子路口，自駕的話可以停老闆家，非常方便。 老闆是位布朗族小哥，特別熱情好客。一進門就邀請我喝茶，拿出他自家的五彩花生，黑花生🥜讓我品嚐，還有野生的拇指蕉，黃心的番石榴第一次見，香味濃郁，好吃😋，還喝了當地特有的茶蟲茶，一種看着不想喝，喝了很驚艷的茶，很香很好喝👍晚上還一起喝了他家自釀的苞米酒，超好喝，入口綿軟帶一絲甜，聽他講布朗族的故事，像到老朋友家做客一樣，完全沒有陌生感。 房間乾淨整潔，最愛的就是那扇大落地窗，我是一樓視野可能沒那麼好，但是這個價位躺床上可以看見藍天白雲還有綠樹好治癒且採光極好。房間備有一次性毛巾，一次性馬桶坐墊套也有，很少有民宿和酒店配有這個東西，救我老命了！老闆還帶我去山裡摘菌子🤭撿野生的板栗🌰，體驗感拉滿👍不過這種活動得看老闆心情，強烈推薦。

很少寫住宿評論，這次真心想好好表揚下😊 翁基古寨56號民宿住得特別舒服！房間乾淨整潔，床品柔軟，窗外就是連綿的茶山和雲海，風景絕了。老闆夫妻兩是同齡人，很有話聊，賣茶也做民宿，還在過年這麼忙碌的時期免費開車帶着我們逛景點，大大省去了我們不熟悉路況，開車難停車難的煩惱！邀請我們喝茶聊天，聊聊互相的生活，體驗地道的布朗族生活。雖然沒早餐，但附近就有小店，很方便。翁基古寨我們們逛了景邁山這麼多寨子中最喜歡的一個，真心希望不管多久他依然還能保持這麼淳樸的民風，令人動容的美景，不要被商業侵蝕！

All the reviews are true, but it’s not the wooden building that causes it.  Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.  Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.  The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.  The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this. Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.  Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.  We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.  Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.  For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby.
