Halifax Holiday Park

"We booked accommodation at the last minute for the weekend. The park itself is well maintained and very clean. The bathrooms / toilets are modern and a lot nicer than I've seen at other holiday parks. My 3 year old really enjoyed the playground. The beaches surrounding the park are within walking distance and are lovely. The service we received was wonderful and the reception staff went out of their way to find a suitable space for us to park our boat at the last minute. My only criticism is we stayed in a 2 Bedroom Standard Villa which is quite dated and the paint is peeling off the cabinetry and from the bathroom tiles. The combined bath / shower had some sort of plaster or silicone dried at the bottom of it near the drain so I didn't want to put my son in the bath. The mattress on the bed seemed like it was a cheap foam mattress from Clark Rubber etc. and I didn't find it comfortable at all. I considered going home after the first night but stuck it out because my son was having such a great time. We had friends staying in a few 2 Bedroom Budget Villa's and they were much nicer and had modern bathrooms. I assume they are newer than the standard villas. They paid significantly less for a 4 night booking than what we paid for our 3 night booking (we left 1 day earlier than they did). Overall we had a great time and we will be back to stay in a Budget Cabin :)"

Amore at the Beach

"No stove, dish washing machine or any usable power points. No laundry facilities .Power board in kitchen tripped if anything else was plugged in as well as the ancient unsafe solid twin solid hot plates which took at least 15 minutes to boil water in order to poach eggs. The TV worked after 2 phone calls to owner. No towel rail in bathroom except for the remains of a previous one. Shower over a good but deep spa bath with no hand rail-quite hazardous for an 87 year old. Hazardous few steps and rough concrete path an then broken tiles to front porch. The owner couldn’t guarantee that the BBQ was operating. The property screamed lack of maintenance with broken louvred on front door blind, weeds between pavers on patio and gritty floor in bedroom at least We left after the first of three nights"

"I recently stayed at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel and had a generally pleasant experience. The location is very convenient, just off the highway and surrounded by plenty of fast food options. There’s also a local Woolworths about five minutes away, which made it easy to grab anything I needed. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the building itself has a charming, historic feel. The gardens add to the atmosphere, making it a nice place to relax. There’s also a small fountain on the property that adds to the overall appeal. One downside, however, was that the toilet did not have a lock, which was a bit disappointing and affected privacy. Overall, it’s a comfortable and well-located place to stay, with just a small issue that could be improved."

The Retreat Port Stephens

"The accomodation was old and dirty. The outdoor area was filthy. Beds uncomfortable and pillows had mould on them and out of date.The kitchen utensils dirty this was the worst stay our family has had. We go away to various places in nsw and qld around 6 times a year. We will definitely never book here again. On the plus side Anna Bay and Nelson Bay have great beaches and really good places to eat. Do yourself a favour and book accommodation elsewhere."

"We enjoyed our 2 night stay with you. Friendly and helpful staff welcomed us at reception. The fully s/c cabin was more than we expected, very spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved listening to the night life in the trees and around the pond. I could hear the surf at One Mile Beach too! We have recommended Oasis to our family and friends."
