The staff were all fantastic and very helpful at dealing with our requests, helping us book taxis etc. The room was clean and pleasant with a nice bathroom and shower, the continental breakfast buffet was great and the views from the pool were great. The booking system for the pool meant you had a guaranteed slot but could only use it once a day. It is a shame that it costs so much money to use the beach, particularly paying $50 for two sunbeds when there's only one of you. I would happily stay again if you could use the private beach for free as a guest.

The location of the hotel is good. Although it doesn't have its own beach, there is a small free public bath across the road with showers. There is a paid bath next to it, renting two chairs and an umbrella, 70 euros a day😱 is too exaggerated, we bought a parasol and a mat for only 35 euros and camped in the public bath. The beach conditions in the nearby town are better, and the price is only 45 Euros a day. Booked a sea view room with a nice view from the large balconies on both sides. The bar on the roof has a good view, 15 euros for a glass of cocktail, but there are free snacks, which is not bad👌

This place is memorable, but not for good reason. As a five-star hotel, you would expect great service, nice rooms, and amenities. This hotel has none. For a positive, I will say the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Much of the negative of the hotel has to do with the quality of the rooms, which is poor. The rooms only have a sheet - no duvet or comforter. Comfort-level of the beds is subjective, but it is objectively thin. Our room looked old and worn out. The ceiling looked like it had water damage, our toilet seat was cracked and the shower leaked water and was stained from the limestone in the water. Finally there were numerous flies and bugs. Additionally, there is no restaurant at the hotel, and no grounds to speak of, other than a small area near the jacuzzi. If you want to use the sister hotel's beach, it will cost an additional 50 Euro. This was the last stop of our honeymoon and we chose to stay at the hotel for the location in Portofino but away from the crowds, but it is not 5-star by any stretch, especially for the price of the hotel.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the exquisite Grand Hotel Villa Balbi in Sestri Levante. It was an experience I will never forget. Upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly and professional staff, attentive to my every need throughout my stay. Check-in was smooth and efficient. My room was delightful, with a plush, comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom with a rain shower. The room was immaculately clean, and the housekeeping staff went above and beyond to ensure it remained so during my stay. Breakfast was a lavish spread of freshly baked pastries, local cheeses, and various fruits and cereals, providing the perfect start to my day. I took advantage of the hotel's beautiful outdoor pool area. The pool area featured comfortable loungers, allowing for relaxing and soaking up the Mediterranean sun. The true highlight of my stay, however, was the exceptional service provided by the Grand Hotel Villa Balbi staff. They were always friendly, courteous, and eager to assist, making me feel at home. Their professionalism and attention to detail were commendable and contributed significantly to my overall experience. My stay at the Grand Hotel Villa Balbi in Sestri Levante was an unforgettable experience that exceeded my expectations. Stayed for one week. Sea view room with balcony - a must! Fantastic breakfast - nothing is too much trouble for the staff. You ask for it and they will most probably be able to make it. Beach club area is fantastic - seaside beds with access to sea as well as two infinity pools. We did not use the spa facilities. Shout out to Francesco one of the porters, he was so helpful - not just with our luggage but with restaurant recommendations as well as local things to do. And always with a lovely smile and cheery hello. Twice daily room service. Huge comfy bed. What’s not to like about this place. We would return.

Hotel Metropole is one of the best in all of Italy! My wife and I returned for the 3rd straight year in a row (all the way from San Diego, California, U.S.) because of the incredible beauty of the hotel and manicured landscape, fitness spa for my wife, spectacular location on the Mediterranean Sea, wonderful hotel restaurant, and of course the very friendly hotel management and staff who always treats us as if family and the hotel always accommodates our request for a special nostalgic room during our stay! The hotel is designed in the style of a nightclub... the local five-star, it does not seem to have reached it, and it is not as large as a small boutique hotel. The breakfast is not rich in variety, and the service is okay.

Very beautiful sea view hotel, very new facilities, comfortable bed, good internet speed, bars, restaurants and swimming pool, convenient transportation, many restaurants around, beach outside the hotel, walking distance to yacht dock and shops. There is parking in the hotel, but it costs 20 euros a day.

Pleasantly surprised at the beauty and convenience of this 4 star hotel that has been refurbished and is now boasting 5 stars and is part of the Small Luxury Hotel Collection. With the majority of the rooms being seafront you can enjoy a sweeping seafront view from within the room or on your balcony. Considering all the hotel sin Rapallo, if you are looking for the best view, I would recommend this hotel as the views are spectacular from your room, the terrace, the breakfast room, the pool and the Michelin recommended rooftop restaurant Le Cupole which I have no doubt will soon earn a Michelin star. And if a good spa is on your list of musts when vacationing, make sure to visit the spa that offers spa treatments in addition to many spa facilities for your relaxation.
