This is a wonderful place with an excellent breakfast room, serving a delicious variety of morning fare. Modern touches in the ancient city of Quimper. We loved the views from our room window, and as I am an oil painter here in New Mexico, I've painted the view with satisfaction. The staff was pleasant and attentive. And as I walk with a cane, I was happy to find a handicapped-designated parking place directly across from the hotel entrance. Das Zimmer war soweit okay und sauber, aber: - Safe funktionierte nicht (Batterien entfernt); man wartet auf neue Safes - Pappbecher für warme und kalte Getränke - schrecklich! - Veraltete Klimaanlage, nicht ausreichend, das Zimmer angenehm zu temperieren! - Im Bad hängt ein Aufkleber, in welchen Abfalleimer (Schlafzimmer oder Badezimmer) der Abfall getrennt werden soll; leider sagt die englische Fassung das Gegenteil von der französischen aus (siehe Foto). Die Putzfrau entsorgte den Inhalt des Abfalleimers im Bad in die Toilette, der Inhalt schwamm oben. Tolles Konzept! Das Frühstück (mit Rührei, Würstchen, Bacon) ist soweit okay, aber für ein 4-Sterne-Hotel mäßig von der Qualität her. Hatte einmal das schon geschnittene Obst aus den Weckgläsern probiert, ungenießbar – es gärte! Samstag und Sonntag war der heiße Teil des Frühstücks nur lauwarm; am Sonntag lagen keine Bestecke beim Aufschnittbuffet und keine Servietten beim Brot – nicht gerade hygienisch! Ein junger Mann räumte die Tische ab, ohne sie danach abzuwischen, und führte laut Selbstgespräche.

Hotel is around 20 minutes far from gare du Quimper by walk. Everything was clean, but only ceiling is not clean. But I am okay with that. I arrived the hotel late, but there was information in front of the main entrance with wrong number in English. I was nervous that I can't enter the building, because there isn't way to call the hotel. But after then, I found correct number in French, and person in charge informed me how can I enter the main entrance. He was kind. (I told it to reception, so she might change it) But I couldn't face the person in charge at around 22:00, and there is only way by call. Anyway, I could easily take a key (It was in the mail box with password) and enter the room. For the next day, the person in charge at reception was kind. She kept my luggage kindly for my trip.

Extremely friendly and attentive staff that were always there to greet with a smile. No problem was too big, nor small for the staff at Ibis Quimper. Room was tidy and the hotel had great amenities, including on-site chickens. The team were very accommodating to a room change following a slight mistake with the beds and dealt with issues accordingly. Staff had great local knowledge and were extremely friendly. Would recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the area.

Positive: - Hotel facilities - Reasonable price Negative: - Oceania unfortunately focuses mainly on business guests during the week. From Friday to Sunday, the restaurant is closed and the number of staff is drastically reduced. This then leads to the lady at the reception being responsible for both the telephone, check-in and also the bar, which means it can take quite a long time to get something to drink. At the weekend, there are at most a few tour buses; as a normal guest, you don't really feel well looked after. - The dishes at breakfast were partly not clean. Traces of scrambled eggs on the plates, traces of coffee or tea in the cups. The staff at breakfast was inattentive regarding the lack of cutlery, bread, etc. - Although the town centre is only 1 km away (as the crow flies), unfortunately you cannot walk there because you would have to walk the first 400 m on the highway. So you always have to take the car.
