"Staying at the Superstar Hotel in Quito, Ecuador, was definitely one of the wisest choices for this trip! From the moment you step into the lobby, you can feel the hotel's attention to detail—the high ceilings, warm lighting, and paintings by local artists on the walls cleverly blend modern design with Andean cultural elements, instantly making you feel more at home in this highland capital. The booked view room exceeded my expectations. Opening the window revealed the red-roofed buildings of Quito's old town, with the Pichincha volcano appearing and disappearing in the mist in the distance. In the morning, drawing back the curtains reveals a flowing natural panorama. The room was fully equipped, with a smart TV that could connect to your phone for screen mirroring, and details like a kettle and mini-fridge meeting the needs of a long journey. The bedding was so soft that I fell asleep instantly, completely offsetting the fatigue of high-altitude travel. The most surprising thing was the hotel's service. The receptionist spoke fluent English, not only quickly processing check-in but also proactively providing a Quito map, highlighting must-see churches, markets, and viewpoints with a highlighter, and even thoughtfully reminding me of precautions for altitude sickness. Every day when I left, the doorman greeted me warmly and even suggested outfits based on the weather; this feeling of being valued was incredibly heartwarming. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but it was exquisite. The freshly made Ecuadorian traditional breakfast, "Horvicho" (corn tortillas with cheese and fried eggs), was fragrant and delicious, paired with locally grown banana jam—a refreshing sweet and sour treat. The juice bar's passion fruit juice and blueberry smoothies were generously filled with fruit pieces. Returning in the evening, the lobby bar offered complimentary hot cocoa; a sip warmed me to the core, and the view of the fading streetscape outside the window was exceptionally pleasant. The location was also a major plus. It's a 15-minute walk to Quito's Old Town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), making it convenient to visit the Church of San Francisco and Independence Square. There are also 24-hour supermarkets and reasonably priced local restaurants nearby. Overall, the Superstar Hotel provided a comfortable stay, attentive service, and a convenient location, making my Quito trip a perfect ending. If I ever return to this "city on the equator," this will definitely be my first choice!"

"Woman didn’t recognize our booking but luckily found us a room anyway. Wasn’t what we booked, but at least it was a place to sleep. No amenities we could enjoy. No shower soap, closed pool, breakfast was scant. More like a motel."

"Hotel Antinea is “vaux le voyage” (worth the trip). This gorgeous hotel is on a stunning little street lined with Sycamore trees. It is a complex of traditional buildings very well designed and integrated. The rooms and garden terraces and courtyards are lovely and comfortable. The breakfast is unique in all Ecuador as it includes excellent croissant beurre (fait maison). The dining spaces are so attractive and filled with interesting art. The service is very, very attentive."

"It is very close to many attractions. There is a currency exchange point nearby. I would like to remind you that if you have RMB, try to exchange it into US dollars in Thailand. The exchange rate here is much worse. The international status of RMB is really X, it is not as good as ROC."

"The Hotel looked very nice and clean , the staff very hospitable however the disappointment came when we had a meal in the restaurant , the food was very good and the staff excellent but in the restaurant was 2 dogs walking around , one scratching , possibly with fleas and the other coming to the table for food . I found this very unhygienic and unacceptable , the staff were well aware of the dogs as they walked around them , the dogs were not blind guide dogs. The second disappointment was the room , although well appointed it was in need of some maintenance ie the tpas in the bathroom sing were both loose and difficult to turn, it is a shame that these 2 problems distracted from what could been a very nice stay"

"We stayed here two nights in Premium room including breakfast. Our room was very nice on the top floor, in corner. We did have an initial problem with some rattling/humming noise in the ceiling but this was rectified so we enjoyed a peaceful sleep. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and rooftop bar (great view from here) - the food was very good. Breakfast buffet very good. All staff friendly and provided good service. Well located."

"Beautiful hotel with attentive well-trained staff and excellent food. One receptionist is fluent in English. Location overlooks a magnificent square - however the area behind the hotel is rife with pickpockets and it is unsafe to display phones or jewelry. Staff will warn you and it is muy importante to take heed. Bathrooms are a bit odd - be careful how you switch on the tap as you may get soaked!"
