Jinxu Hotel is located at the east entrance of the Chikan Overseas Chinese Ancient Town Scenic Area. The name of Jinxu Hotel draws inspiration from the novel "Jinxu" by teacher Xiong Yuqun, which depicts the Chikan墟 with interconnected arcades, winding corridors, and immunity to wind and rain—a blessed land that leaves everyone marveling. The "Guangyu Monthly Report" praised it in an article: "The development of our city's infrastructure is like the rising sun, radiating brilliance and shining objectively." This is what is meant by "Jinxu.".
The hotel covers a total area of 45,000 square meters and offers 468 guest rooms, divided into Zones A and B. The spacious rooms are well-equipped and provide convenient check-in. The facilities include a full-service Chinese and Western restaurant, an indoor swimming pool, a large outdoor water park, a gym, and a conference center spanning over 1,500 square meters, capable of hosting conferences and banquets for up to 1,000 people. The hotel is within 200 meters of attractions such as the Water/Fire Show Theater, Music Square, East Road Theater, Yin Xin Theater, Modern Theater, an indoor children's playground, and the iconic tram station, making it an ideal choice for business meetings, family vacations, and wedding banquets.
The hotel is just a 20-minute drive from Kaiping South Station, a 90-minute drive from Guangzhou South Station, and a 90-minute drive from Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport.
"I selected this hotel because its package specifically featured two live performances held inside Chikan Ancient Town, and indicated that tickets for these shows could be collected at the hotel front desk—implying that the package included special VIP tickets for both events.
However, upon check-in, the receptionist informed me that the hotel does not provide any special tickets for the two shows to its guests. If I wished to secure VIP seating for the fire show, I would need to pay an additional fee at the venue entrance. This constitutes a clear misrepresentation. Had the hotel package not prominently highlighted these two performances and stated that tickets could be picked up at the front desk, I would not have chosen this hotel for my trip.
Although the rooms were clean, comfortable, and quite spacious, the overall service level of the staff was merely average."
