"I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place was truly awful. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, and the bathroom was in a shocking state — broken, dirty showers, a leaking toilet, and no basic essentials like toilet paper or soap. My bedroom was disgusting, filled with rubbish and belongings clearly left behind by previous guests. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. To top it off, the staff were rude, unhelpful, and bossy. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere — this place is not worth your time or money."

"Have stayed in the hotel, together with the family, in February 2026 and forgotten a pair of new shoes under a table in the room. When called the hotel next day, I was plesantly surprised by speaking to hotel's manager Daniel, who has confirmed that they found the shoes and that the hotel will send them to me! Daniel, thank you very much for your help! The hotel itself left a good impression: it's a no-frills option, with free parking, in a very quiet place and with solid walls as you cannot hear visitors in other rooms. English breakfast in the morning was filling; if you want a vegetarian option or eggs made differently, just ask a member of staff. The room was very clean. In terms of amenities, Morrisons, Aldi, a pub and a KFS are all a stone-throw away. There's 30-minute walk to Shanklin old village and beach to one side and 30-minute walk to Sandown pier and beach to the other. Top island's attractions are typically 20 minutes away by the car, except for Needles, which is on the other end of the island. Would stay again if decide to visit Isle of Wight again."

"My wife and I have just enjoyed a great 6 night stay at the Trouville. Breakfast and dinner were exceptionally good with lots of choices throughout our stay and all the staff were superb and very helpful. Nice comfortable room with great views. Entertainment was good most nights, Nigel on Saturday evening was the best, we were hoping he would stay all week!"

We travelled from Birmingham with a baby under 2 and the host was absolutely brilliant — greeted us personally and kindly allowed an early check-in which made such a difference with a little one.
