"What a hidden gem of a guesthouse! I usually steer clear of guesthouses because I find their management or amenities lacking, often just pretty on the surface. But this time, since my options were limited for dog-friendly stays in Shaxian, this guesthouse completely changed my mind! It's an old, traditional building (I actually think Japanese architecture is inspired by Fujian's [smiley face]). The interior design is absolutely beautiful; seriously, every corner is picture-perfect, whether it's bathed in morning sunlight or glowing with enchanting lights at night. It's clean and comfortable, and the staff are all so gentle and attentive with their service. It was so relaxing that I stayed for four nights and still didn't want to leave. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Shaxian!"

Other snacks are reasonably priced (hot spring egg 3 yuan, chicken feet 4 yuan, duck head 8 yuan). Noodle soup and mixed noodles are also available. There's little food nearby, so you can only eat on site. It's quiet and there are few guests, so there's not much service. The gym was empty, the treadmill wasn't plugged in, and no towels or drinking water were provided. One small incident: I forgot the time while soaking in the hot springs and left around 2:00 PM. I quickly handed my room card back to the front desk and asked to go to the room to get the rest of my belongings. They kept calling and urging me to go, saying they'd charge me for extra time, but we weren't stalling. I had to rush out with my backpack, but I ended up leaving something behind and had to run back to get it. Alas, it wasn't peak season, and there weren't any guests waiting. It would have been nice to relax a bit. The room check-in lady was very patient and told us to take our time and pack up first. Overall, it was a good experience, but the service could be better."
