It's in the old town, very local, with lots of food options nearby. There's a wet market behind the hotel which is amazing; the vendors are so friendly, one auntie even invited us to drink tea with her! Chaoshan Gongfu tea truly lives up to its reputation. The room facilities are decent. Suggestions: 1. I hope the hotel designates non-smoking rooms. There was a slight smoky smell when we first entered, but it dissipated quickly after opening the window and turning on the AC. 2. The hallways should be cleaned or vacuumed promptly; we noticed some debris on the carpet. The front desk staff, both male and female, were very welcoming and gave great food recommendations!"

"The location has no shopping around it and the food places around it looks unhygienic. Breakfast is average. The reception is helpful and courteous. But the housekeeping is below the standard of the Mercure name. We came back after our tour the second day afternoon and was shocked that the floor was no cleaned and used towels not taken away though new towels were given. The night before my husband had eaten some toasted cashew nuts with skin and there were some on the floor next to the bed but the skin were not cleaned. The bed was sloppily made as well. The next day it was cleaned but the area under the trash bin in the toilet was not cleaned."
