easyHotel Sheffield ★★★

📍 71 High St, Sheffield

"The hotel is closeish to the station and was close to where I was working for a few days. It's in the city center with a tram stop a very short walk away. The reception looks bright, but they have an expensive coffee machine there, which I soon learnt meant I didn't have a kettle in my room. Check in was quick, friendly and simple. I had booked for two, ended up on my own. I got to my room and immediately noticed it was tiny with no desk, just a small path around the bed and a small bathroom. For the price paid, I expected a normal hotel experience. When I used the bathroom, I noticed a long hair in the sink, which washed away with the slightest trickle when I started washing my hands which told me it hadn't been cleaned. That made me then look at the floor and noticed that hadn't been swept, either."

Radisson Blu Sheffield Hotel ★★★★

📍 30 Pinstone St, Sheffield City Centre, Sheffield

"We loved our stay at Radisson Blu. The only downside was the Air Con not working properly, they are really hot rooms and the windows dont open. However, the rooms are so quiet with soundproof rooms, really comfortable and spacious. It was an ideal location near Lyceum Theatre and a lobely square opposite for eating and drinking. We sat at the roof top bar for drinks and staff were polite and helpful. I would love to revisit but the air con was abit of a downside for me."

"1) The room with two queen beds was great! 2) It's a shame the gym and pool close so early; my post-dinner workout plans went down the drain! 3) If you're driving, the parking is in a public lot outside the hotel, and there's no charging available."

"The location is not very central, but it is a 5-minute walk away and is close to a street full of restaurants. In addition, as a 15-year old member, the price I booked was not only not discounted, but was also nearly 200% higher than the retail price. I was speechless. The retail price was 720, but they charged me 1880 a night. It's too unreasonable, and there is no refund. This is Ctrip's service."

"Wouldn’t stay here again. The rooms are very Spartan (prison cell like) but clean to be fair. I don’t mind basic but usually the price reflects this. Not here."

"The hotel is new and in the middle of the city. The facilities and rooms are modern and clean and you get a good impression as soon as you enter the hotel. The reception staff were all welcoming and had a good attitude. I didn't use any of the facilities but there is a gym. My rooms was well-equipped with everything I needed and even had an iron and ironing board which I found useful."

"The Hotel covers that basic needs and was in a perfect location for what we wanted, its not up there in lavishness but neither is the price, so if you want a hotel that does the job at a very reasonable price this is definitely the one. I would happily stay again if this was the location i wanted to be in, bearing in mind i travelled for business."

"They charge nearly double what most hotels in the area do because there's a spa. But they charge extra for pool use after you get there, and you could visit it and pay the same if you're not a guest. They also don't allow children in the pool most of the day, which didn't come up when I specified I was bringing a child. So we had no opportunity to use the pool. It's also not the hotel advertised! ******************************************************************* you've probably seen this image they're using. It's not there! That's a nearby building they like the look of. Moved the TV to the left so it aligned with the bed. Pic attached. Gross. Wanted to take my card when we arrived. I know that's becoming more common, but it needs to be called out. I'd paid up front. Nobody needs my card details just in case they want to charge me for something."
