"The hotel has two buildings. Since we were traveling with elderly people, we booked a room in the back row, which was quiet. The staff were exceptionally helpful, patiently explaining things to us about visiting the old town and dining options. The room was clean and tidy, and the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, so two people could use it without disturbing each other. The breakfast rice noodles and rice cakes were quite good (you need to be able to accept the Yunnan-style minced meat sauce). The hotel has comprehensive facilities, including an elevator, laundry room, tea room, gym, and parking."

"The entire guesthouse is beautifully decorated with great design. The two ladies at the front desk were incredibly helpful, calling every day to ask if we wanted our room cleaned. The owner is also super nice! And the bartender lady is fantastic too; I ordered several drinks and they were all delicious, and she even brought them to my room. Since Shiping doesn't have a high-speed train station, we had to take a taxi to Jianshui, but the taxi driver tried to charge us more. When the owner found out, she helped us out, and in the end, she even drove us to the bus station so we could take an intercity bus to Jianshui. A huge thanks to the owner! During our stay, the owner, the front desk ladies, and the bartender were all incredibly warm and welcoming. If I get the chance, I'll definitely stay here again."

"This is the hardest guesthouse I've ever stayed in to rate. The location is excellent, right next to the Confucius Temple, a 15-minute walk from the main attractions of the ancient city, convenient for dining, and the facilities are above average. The owner was also quite welcoming. However, what I found most incomprehensible was the extreme noise before midnight, primarily from the owner. I stayed three nights, being lazy and not wanting to move my things, always thinking things would be better the next day. Finally, seeing no hope, I left in a huff. On the first night, the owner's wife chatted with several tourists, sometimes speaking to each other in their local dialect, sometimes to the owner's wife in Mandarin. They chatted until 11 pm, then the owner's wife left, and the tourists started taking showers, making a racket until after midnight. The next day, this group of tourists left, and thinking there was no one to chat with, I extended my stay for another day. That evening, the owner and his wife started talking [perhaps they were discussing something, as I couldn't understand them], until 11 pm... The owner started repairing the water system on the third-floor terrace, causing water to flow directly from the third floor to the first floor. I thought something was wrong, so I went out to check and the owner said the system was broken. Oh well, I'll just have to bear it. It dragged on until after midnight. During this time, after the water stopped flowing, the two people talking became deafening. I couldn't help but go out and say something, and it finally stopped after about 20 minutes. The next morning, I didn't see the owner. When I returned in the morning, the owner proactively said it was fixed and apologized. Thinking I could finally relax, I extended my stay for another night. Around 6 pm, I came back from my outing and found the owner's family and about 20 relatives and friends having dinner at the guesthouse. They drank too much and started shouting and singing—I recognized the singing as Peking Opera! I... This continued until midnight. I inquired and found that the owner and his wife are both officially employed in the area; running the guesthouse is a side business. But if you want to run a business, you need to have a service-oriented mindset. It's not your domain to be in charge. Running a guesthouse isn't as simple as me staying in your room and you collecting money. This is the first time I've written such a long review on Ctrip. I hope I can improve it, otherwise it would be a waste of such a great location and facilities."
