Taj Theog Resort & Spa Shimla

"What was good? 1.) Location 2.)Views 3.) Overall warmth, hospitality and efforts put in by team 4.)Look & feel including interiors of the room and the aesthetics of the overall property 5.)The pine leaf infused mocktails at the bar 6.) The local musicians i.e. the folk group and the Sitar player 7.)The pool, jacuzzi and the spa area 7.)Kids play area 8.)Lawns What was bad ? 1.)The dinner buffet was as bad as the one offered by taj in large city hotels 2.)The practice of sourcing a lot of things from central kitchen and/or in the frozen form makes the food soul less and leads to a feeling of disappointment and disgust after eating it 3.) The food not only lacked freshness but the menu planning was also very poor. For e.g. the dinner buffet didn't have any continental appetizers. Instead of a live pasta station, a live tandoor appetizer station and roti station would have been far more valuable. 4.)A la carte meals at the Theog junction bar were also very bad as they were cold by the time they reached there. Something as basic as the papad & chutney were full of excessive salt 5.)A government event during our stay had ruined the peace and beauty of the place. The people attending the event choked the lobby at all times and killed the heavenly vibe of this beautiful mountain retreat 6.)The Indian speciality restaurant had a very poor ambience for anyone to be attracted to it 7.)One session at the spa was good but the second session was very bad due to an inexperienced therapist and suffocation in the room due to the ventilation system not working. 8.) The ventilation system didn't work in the room as well and the only option was to sleep with the fan on and the window open. This option had the issue of road traffic noise. Surprisingly the HVAC system doesn't have any option of fresh air circulation and hence was centrally switched off Suggestions for people visiting Taj theog & looking for better food: Birdy's cafe (khaas theog) a few metres before Taj theog offers amazing Pizza & coffee. Midway stops at Haveli Dharampur and/or Club Mahindra Kandaghat while coming from and going back to Chandigarh."

"Hotel cumber-mere having its own lift to the mall road and some good food helps if you want to explore shimla’s mall road and ridge area. The staff is courteous and rooms are nice. It’s a bit of a maze to navigate inside the hotel but it’s not too much of a pain"

"The hotel was nice, the staff was really nice and they also let us cook our own maggi using their gas only at 150rs (8 maggis. They even cut-ted the veggies and help us cook. The view from the hotel was really amazing as you can see the whole shimla."

Koti Resort Shimla, a member of Radisson Individuals Retreats

"Very bad experience with the property as I faced certain issues which were not addressed properly and I went ahead with escalation to Radisson Central Reservations Team. The issues primarily revolved around wifi speed, delayed Housekeeping and non-operational swimming pool. Staff behavior does not seem to be appropriate as they really don't care even if you complain about it. Terrible experience altogether. Bonus - Before staying in this property I stayed in one of the sister properties in that region "Radisson Jass Shimla" - and my experience was very good. So Koti Resort management really need to learn lessons from their sister properties in the same region. You guys should consider a fair compensation for gaps which caused me inconvenience."

"Open terrace were amazing and special thanks to every one for make our stay special. Specially the taxi service part is one of the great thing. They also have a Lounge area close to the reception . We enjoy a lot. Thanks team snow valley we will visit again"
