"Chengde Kumquat hotel, has a good location – 10 minutes of walking from Chengde South Railway Station. Rooms are clean and spacious. However, there are no fabric towels, only paper ones. Imagine you dry yourself with a paper towel, which is disgusting, It is not enough, so you have to suffer after taking a shower. The old lady who rents eight rooms (that is all for this small hotel) does not want to bother to wash towels; she prefers lazy lifestyle of rich owners - easy money with less work."

MM413156****非常愉快的一次旅行。冬天的霧靈山沒有想象中那麼冷。民宿接待非常好，管家提前發了很多園區的訊息，以及民宿所在位置，服務很貼心，有求必應。民宿裏很暖和，除了地暖還有空調，房間佈置得非常温馨，設施很全。很欣賞房主的審美，每個房間都充滿藝術感，娃們猜房主一定是位藝術系的小姐姐。不知道對不對啊。園區裏還有兩衹小貓咪，不怕人，很可愛。私湯體驗感也很棒。霧靈山初體驗滿分💯。

Es waren draußen fast -20 Grad, aber innen war es wohlig warm. Der Besitzer hat uns gute Tipps für die Wanderung auf der Mauer gegeben. Das hausgemachte Essen war überaus köstlich. In den Zimmern hängen wunderschöne Fotografien der Mauer, die der Besitzer selbst angefertigt hat. Egal was wir benötigt haben, sie haben sich bestens und rührend um uns gekümmert. Vielen lieben Dank für die wunderbare Zeit! Wir werden wiederkommen 😊

Transportation by car was arranged to and from the train station as well as for heading up the hill at 6am to the Jinshanling great wall park entrance to catch sunrise from the Great Wall at the top. It is possible to just walk up to the gate instead, it just takes longer to walk the 2 km to the ticket checking gate, and there is then still some maybe 15 mins of walking uphill before getting to the top. Photos show the view from my room, the menu of the hotel restaurant, dinner (尖椒豆片炒肉), and breakfast (fried rice and soup).

TTommy ChawAt the beginning it is hard for me to choose even the review is positive, but when I arrive and check in, I totally change my view. The surrounding is cozy, the room are clean with no cigarette odour even they provide ash tray in the room (suggest owner take away the ash tray and put a notice smoke at provider smoking area out side the premises), toilet are bright and water pressure is good (but hope the owner can make a little bit changes for the wiring system of the water heater), the food is tasty and size are too big for solo traveller (suggest to owner set a price for small size for not wasting food), the owner parents are friendly and always give the good service. At night, surrounding is quite and good to rest. it is a walking distance to Jing shang ling tourist center but if planning to do the sunrise walk the owner will provide a transfer service to the entrance at 330am. Overall it is a good choice to stay here.

Breakfast is typical Chinese style -- porridge, bun, vegetables. They do offer cook food at reasonable price. Only con is toilet floor will be wet after showering.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe hostel is super trendy! Walking in, I had to make sure I was at the right place because the reception is a cosy bar! The staff did not speak English but we overcame the language barriers using WeChat. Everyone is very friendly and patient! Even the dog called 由由! The cubicle beds are more luxurious than other hostels I stayed at. They are spacious and provide almost complete privacy. I also received slippers, so it was extra cosy! The bathroom can be improved because without shower curtain even the toilet gets wet, but it is spacious enough to keep your clothes dry. This hostel is suitable for longer stays as well, especially with friends because they have many activities and games at the hostel. Reception helps with the organisation of tours to the grasslands and many other trips as well (although these tours are fully in Chinese. So some Chinese language skills are recommended). If I ever return to Chengde, then I will stay there again!
