Le personnel est très prévenant et disponible. Il y a des ordinateurs disponibles gratuitement avec internet. This homestay is located next to the Yungang Grottoes (11.4 kilometers away, a 1-minute drive) and close to the Datong City Wall and the Ancient Street (2.5 kilometers away, a 10-minute drive). The decoration style is by the diversified art design master Meng Ye, combining various art styles such as wilderness, rural, Hepburn, and modern to bring you a comfortable home-like experience. hotel has a separate parking lot that can accommodate large buses and up to 60 cars during peak hours. There is also a separate laundry room and gym inside the to provide you with more convenient services. It is the best choice for your business trip or travel. The downstairs is 400 meters away from the Zini369 Coarse Grain Restaurant (Xihuan Road Store) and 100 meters away from the local specialty hand-cut noodles. The night market,, hospital, and pharmacy are all within easy reach. It is also close to the luxurious shopping mall Xinbaisheng in Datong City (1.5 kilometers, a 10-minute drive, with shared charging piles inside) and the Hualin New World shopping mall. The location is superior and the transportation is convenient The downstairs is 3 minutes' walk from the bus stop (which can go directly to the Yungang Grottoes).
"民宿在一個大廈裏，樓下有停車位，在他家住宿可以免費停車，房間很大，我們一家四口住足夠了，樓下有人間煙火氣，賣水果的很多，周邊吃飯也方便，去雲岡石窟堵車，在樓下不遠有公交車站很方便，又不怕堵車，又不怕停車費勁。住這邊除了離古城不算太近，其他的我都得都挺方便的。衞生打掃的也挺乾淨，還提供一次性用品，來旅遊住這邊挺好的，房子還不太好定呢。"

"What a lovely place to stay! All the staff and the owner were really helpful and friendly. We were very pleased with the room (clean and nicely furnished). We loved the location - in an older neighbourhood with character and without enormous high-rise apartments. It was an easy walk to the old city wall (perfect for a night walk along the top of the wall to see the beautiful lights) A small challenge was finding the hotel. The taxi took us very close and then we asked one of the friendly locals. We quickly found the hotel by walking for a couple of minutes down the lane and turning right into the hotel laneway. We would definitely stay here again."

MMisafir KullanıcıI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries.
The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included.
The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride.
My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room.
The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily.
If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn.
*I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out.

JJames56We had a happy experience checking in at this hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our room! It was bright and cheerful and spacious. The shower and drainage was very good.
Location is fantastic, near the railway station and many bus services, especially for going to Yungang grottoes. There was a mall, with a hypermarket in the basement and minimarts around.
What we like most was there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use, free of charge!
If we ever come to Datong again, we would stay here. Highly recommend this place!

EErol K.Incredible! The only minus is that it is not centrally located, so you'll have to take the taxi to the center (Old city), but it is in a lively neighbourhood. When you enter the building and see the elevator, you might have second thoughts for a moment (😉), but then...the ROOM! Huge, extra clean, ultra modern with brand new amenities, everything controlled at a touch of a button...Staff is very welcoming and attentive too. We loved it and couldn't recommend it more!
Note: for some strange reason, the exact name of the hotel is Karen Boman hotel not the Sheng Gloria plaza (check building photo), so don't be confused when you get to the address. The entrance is on the right side of the building.

黄黄善博The hotel was the priciest that we stayed at during our 45 days in China, though the beds, space, and bathroom were the nicest out of them all. For the price, I would’ve hoped that the staff would’ve been a bit more helpful—no elevator and many bags to carry up the three flights of stairs was really quite difficult. The staff also don’t speak any English at all, and my friend doesn’t speak any Chinese, and we didn’t really understand that you needed to put down a deposit of 100rmb that would then be refunded to you (or that they needed a Chinese phone number too; I didn’t have one, and as a foreigner traveling through China, if I had been by myself or didn’t know or have any Chinese friends with Chinese numbers, I would’ve been unable to check-in).
The hotel was very nice nonetheless. Fantastic location, very close to everything. The walk to the old city wall took about an hour, and would’ve been a ten minute taxi ride. The street the hotel is located on is full of lots of local shops and restaurants, and feels very lively during the day. The staff was also very friendly and enjoyed speaking with the foreigner at the hotel (although I had some trouble understanding the Shanxi accent! Jin Chinese is not my strongest!).
The WiFi was a bit slow. But the beds were incredible. Huge, clean, soft. Pillows were lovely. Bathroom was huge. Just wish there’d been a bit more service from the front desk. Was a tad weird to get up at 5:50am to go to the Hanging Temple 悬空寺, which is very normal, to see the woman at the front desk asleep… it was fine, but still a bit weird.

MMisafir KullanıcıI enjoyed my stay at this hotel. There is quite a bit to see around Lingqiu, and I should have stayed one extra night or two. Miss Liu (刘小姐), the front receptionist, was extremely helpful, even going all the way to accompany me to the bus stop to catch the bus heading to the Pingxingguan Battle site. Miss Liu also assisted with booking a cab for my visit to the Jueshan Pagoda. This famous Pagoda was founded before England was established by William the Conqueror (if I am wrong, then pardon me, but the Pagoda was built sometime before 1077 A.D. during the Northern Wei Dynasty). Miss Liu also directed me to the gravesite of King Wu of the Northern Wei Dynasty which is right in downtown Lingqiu.
There are numerous restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. One restaurant, next door to the right of the hotel, serves a wondering braised fish; the other a few doors away, sells delicious meat pies.
My room was professionally cleaned and serviced daily.
The hotel even allows me to doze off on the reception floor sofa to await my night train to Beijing.
I will return to this hotel if I return to Lingqiu.

I just went to local McDonald’s and they answered the phone for me. They were luckily really helpful!

MMisafir KullanıcıThis hotel is really really beautiful - maybe even more than the photos show. Even though the style is traditional, everything inside the room is new, and there's even an elevator to take up bags. The location is amazing too, inside the old city wall, and I walked everywhere except the out of town attractions I visited. I think anywhere you stay in Datong you might have some communication challenges if you don't speak Chinese, but the owner here was very helpful once I put wechat on my phone to be able to talk with translation help, and he was able to arrange a last minute taxi out to the hanging temple after I had given up trying to get one. However, even though he was very helpful, he wasn't always around, and checking in was a bit difficult because there was nobody at the desk. I think this is only a problem if you don't speak Chinese though.
Unfortunately, the wifi didn't always reach to my room on the 3rd floor well, and I could only get a trickle of hot water out of the shower. Overall though, I was super happy with this place and would recommend it!

VVSTWe enjoyed our three nights stay in this hotel. Quiet and clean except for some not so pleasant smell from the bathroom. The staff are very friendly, helpful and responsive. This includes the free pickup transport driver, the front desk staff and the janitors as well. The breakfast provided by the hotel was so delicious and nutritious, too. We enjoyed the three mornings breakfast with different menu for three consecutive days. The chef and his wife were also very cheerful to see us enjoy their cooking. 👍👍👍👍👍
This hotel is located near to Datong South Railway Station. If you are using the public bus, there are five buses passing through :#68,#66,#61,#31,#14.
Bus #68 & #66 also go to the city. The traveling time from the hotel to the city by public bus is about ½ an hour, ticket price is 2 Yuan each. It's only 20mins by taxi, 15-20 Yuan.
There are also some eating shops nearby...

MMisafir KullanıcıThe hotel is located on the 9th floor of a building. So you must go to the elevator a random building and go to the 9th floor. The hotel is the 9th floor only.
The room is very big, the bed is comfortable, and the shower hot. I was very satisfied given the price paid. The reception is not great the looking, but the room is good and, once again, worth the price.
The location is very near the ancient city wall and near bus stops that will take you anywhere (Hunyuan, Datong South Railway, etc). There is ******* and alipay bikes nearby as are bus, but you just walk to the city walls. I would definitely return as the price was very good and everything else standard.
