"The hotel room was clean and basic for the most part and a few small bugs in the bathroom, but nothing major. 4 bottles of water are included and slippers. Beds are firm and comfortable and pillows are ok. However, if you are allergic to napthelene (moth balls), then stay away as the place is strong smelling of moth balls though the room doesn't have a closet or wardrobe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The bathroom is very basic without a door rack to hang your clothes and the shower partition is only enough to shield the toilet from splashes and without any sliding doors. Toilet doesn't accept toilet paper, so you'll need to put into the provided waste basket. The young lady at the counter was generally helpful, but in a basic kind of way. The hotel is conveniently located right across from the Taiwan railway station in "downtown" kind of area. The lobby looked big, clean, and decent with a "putting green" off to the side. The room is quiet, though there are people talking loudly as they check in late at night. The lobby “free wifi” connects, but has no internet service. Room wifi is unsecured, so make sure you have a vpn or use it for unimportant things. They also provide a free luggage storage service before you check in so you can sightsee without lugging your luggage around town. Overall, it’s a good choice for a basic short stay at a very convenient location. The price is also very good. Recommended choice for your next Tainan trip."

"Honestly, this was the worst Shangri-La experience I've ever had. When I got to the room and opened the toilet, there was toilet paper still in it that hadn't been flushed. After using the bathtub, I accidentally spilled some water and discovered that the bathroom floor actually sloped in the opposite direction of the drain, with the drain being the highest point! All the water that should have flowed towards the drain under the sink instead flowed the other way and pooled next to the toilet, staying there all night. I called housekeeping, but no one came, so I had to step into a puddle every time I used the toilet the next day. When I complained to the front desk at checkout about housekeeping not responding, they just brushed it off, saying it was a shift change. Absolutely unacceptable!"

"I stayed in this hotel in this April, which is a wonderful experience. Thus, I brought my family (total 4) to stay in this hotel again. Unfortunately, the experience of this time is not pleasant. First of all, as i m the IHG member, I am entitled to have welcome drink. Last time, we can drink in the lobby lounge, but this time, the waitress declined us to take the drink at the lounge and requested us to take away the drinks. Whats ridiculous?! The welcome drink is offered by the hotel, but i m not wrlcome to drink at the lounge. Secondly, the cleaning service is not pleasant, two cups in my room have not been cleaned. Thirdly, the food serving of beef soup is very unsatisfactory. I don't understand why I requested to have more soup and got a black face from the chef. I spent over US$600 for two nights, but seems not be welcomed from the lounge nor restaurant. I would not recommend others to stay in this luxury but not welcome hotel"

There's a free laundry room on the third floor. If the underground parking is full, there's an outdoor parking lot right across the street from the hotel. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants and drink shops next to the hotel, which is super convenient. The only minor issue was that the air conditioning in the room was a bit noisy, but everything else was great."
