"The Towada Winter Story Festival was a total bust, but Lake Towada itself was an unexpected delight – absolutely stunning. By chance, I even hiked a portion of the Oirase Stream in the morning. The weather, with snow one minute and clear skies the next, added so much character to the lake's scenery. The hotel room was spacious, and it was quite an interesting check-in experience, using very old-fashioned keys and a metal door."

"The hotel's service was excellent. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were very extensive, especially if you like Japanese-style food. The other two restaurants require advance reservations, and they were already fully booked by the time I tried to make a reservation during my stay. If you plan to travel from the hotel to other locations, I recommend booking a taxi through the hotel in advance; the service is great and very convenient."

"Well, checking into this hotel was quite an ordeal… The first heavy snowfall of the year stranded us in Aomori, and we were misled by road closure notices. Adding to our woes, the hotel phone was constantly unreachable by automated messages, and we almost missed our chance to stay at this amazing place… After much trouble, we finally arrived at the hotel before dark. The hotel was actually quite nice. The owner, Shimizu-san, looked young and handsome, and it seemed he personally cooked dinner. The main courses were yakitori, with hot pot and desserts included – enough to fill you up! We even had Wagyu yakitori on the second day, which was delicious 😋. Breakfast was almost identical both days: tofu hot pot with natto and a soft-boiled egg. The breakfast staff were very nice and chatted with us 💬"

"The facilities are pretty good, and there aren't many other options around, but it's really expensive. The afternoon tea wasn't generous – just apple juice and cider. Dinner was good, but for a family with small appetites, it was just okay. We definitely went for a hot spring bath, so we didn't even use the bathroom in the room."

"Because I temporarily changed to stay one night at Lake Towada and walk the Oirase Stream the next day, the hotel was fully booked. I found this backpacker hotel with high ratings and quickly booked it to give it a try. The double room with twin beds is clean and tidy. Although the public restroom does not have shower facilities, you can take a hot spring bath in the hot spring hotel next to it for 25 RMB, and there is also an outdoor room, which is great value for money!"

"The location is excellent, right next to the JR bus stop, and the Towada bus stop is also at the same location, making transportation very convenient. It's about a kilometer walk to Oirase. The surrounding area is very quiet, the hotel's onsen (hot spring) is very comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast are plentiful, with the yakitori (grilled skewers) being particularly delicious. The service is very attentive. The room facilities are slightly lacking, but sufficient for a comfortable stay."
