"Had a lovely stay here. The onsen was excellent and very relaxing, and the ryokan room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the stay even more pleasant. Breakfast was delicious and nicely presented. The location is probably 10 mins walking distance from the train station and the popular public onsen area, but the free shuttle service made getting around very convenient. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth staying, will definitely come back again!"

"The hotel staff who spoke English made communication easy for us. When our air conditioning stopped working, we reported it, and an English-speaking staff member quickly came to adjust it. However, shortly after it was fixed, the AC stopped again. The staff explained that it's designed to cycle on and off. But, after sleeping through the night, I felt the AC wasn't cold enough, and with the weather getting warmer, I was worried about opening the window and letting in bed bugs and mosquitoes. Overall, though, the room was clean and comfortable."

"This was the most satisfying hotel I stayed at in Osaka. It was incredibly quiet and relaxing. After getting off the train and exploring a bit, enjoying a delicious lunch, I just took the free shuttle right in front of the station to the hotel. The shuttle service is complimentary, and while it's scheduled to depart on the hour, the driver was very accommodating and would take guests whenever there were people, dropping them off wherever they needed to go – excellent service! If I get the chance, I'll definitely bring my family back here to enjoy the hot springs and good food. The hotel has a pure Japanese style, and both breakfast and dinner were fantastic. In the afternoon, I took the kids to the hot springs and enjoyed some coffee. In the evening, listening to the patter of rain, with the heating on, and sipping on the complimentary beer from the hotel – it was simply blissful!"

"Location: very near to the rest of the onsen. Service: I booked this hotel as it was marketed as “kids friendly” onsen hotel on various websites, and kids yukata are available etc. I was told by the staff that kids yukata needs to pay a separate fee of JPY300 per set. Meals are strictly 1 hour only. They will collect the food once the time is up, regardless if you are done or not. I’ve got 2 toddlers and I struggle to meet the 1 hour timeline of feeding them plus myself. Unfortunately my food was cleared before I can finish them. Rooms: Rooms are ok, nothing worth mentioning. Onsen is small."

You can check in at the cafe and then take your luggage up to the second or third floor yourself. As it's an old building, the soundproofing isn't amazing, but there's hardly any traffic late at night. You might occasionally hear the clatter of wooden clogs, which adds to its unique charm, haha."

"The location is excellent on the main street. It is a short walk to the JR station and outdoor hot springs. The boss and his family are friendly and friendly to guests. "I'm definitely coming back. It's the best. The surrounding commercial area has declined a bit, but it's close to the station, very quiet, and only locals are there. The Japanese people are super friendly. The cleaning is perfect, and the breakfast is delicious. My friend and I were so busy devouring breakfast that we didn't have time to think about it. It was a happy morning. The view is great, and ice water, tea, and coffee are all free. Manga books are free, and using the washing machine is also free. The hot spring is small but nice. There is a wide variety of shampoos and conditioners to choose from, and there are various types of hair dryers, including Dyson ones. In particular, there are two massage chairs, and they are amazing. I want to take the massage chairs with me when I go back to Korea. I love you, Green Morris. Next time, I'll come with my husband, whom I left at home!"

"This was my first time visiting Kinosaki Onsen, and I chose Kawaguchiya Kinosaki Riverside Hotel. There's a free shuttle bus from right outside the train station to the hotel, which was super convenient. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus service to the various onsen around town, and they provide a timetable. The hotel has a charming, old-fashioned decor. The lobby even has a gift shop where you can buy souvenirs. After checking in, each guest can pick a different yukata to wear both in the hotel and for onsen hopping. Plus, the hotel package already included the cost for visiting the public onsen. Our room had both hot and cold water available. We opted for the package with dinner and breakfast. The dinner was decent; it consisted of local vegetables, sashimi, a Tajima beef hot pot roll, grilled fish, and kamameshi. The portions were just right. Breakfast was also Japanese-style, with grilled fish and pickles. After checking out, the hotel can arrange for your luggage to be sent to a pick-up point near the station; I think it was around 200 yen per piece (can't quite remember). We visited in May, which might not be peak season, as there were very few tourists, and the streets were quiet for walking. Just a heads-up, when going onsen hopping, make sure to check the timetable, as two of the onsen were closed on the day I went."

"A good ryokan. The room was large and comfortable, and the staff were polite. Even though the hotel is very old (you can feel it in places), it's very clean and cozy. The koi on the terrace are a bit of a mixed bag: The koi are beautiful, but they look scared and have very little space. I didn't get any aesthetic pleasure from them – I was more worried. Pros: - Amazing service - Very atmospheric room - Fantastic kaiseki dinner - Good breakfast - A pass is provided for all local onsens (you'll need to pay a symbolic 400 yen per visit to the onsens, but there are no restrictions on how many onsens you can visit, and you can even visit them for a couple of hours after check-out). Cons: - No smoking in the room or on the room's terrace (this is probably because their Gonzaemon hotel, where you *could* smoke, burned down nearby). - The air conditioner only heats the main room; the other rooms (hallway, bathroom, toilet) are very cold. - The hot tub is very small (it's photographed in a way that makes it look bigger). - The convenience store (combini) is very far away. - There are shared hot springs and a private bath in the adjacent building (you need to book in advance, and the last entry is at 11 PM). - The yukatas are rather simple compared to other local ryokans."
