"We went to admire the view having been recommended to go there. The setting was lovely and we got the window table we had requested. Service was excellent and the food great. Taking items from the fixed price menu meant an excellent meal at a very good price."

The Loans Inn ★★★★
"Booked this room as it was advertised to have air conditioning in the bedrooms. There was no Aircon and just a very old oscillating tower fan. The first one didn't work and we had to complain and get it changed. I do not normally bother about air con but considering we were in the middle of a heatwave this was an essential part of the reason for making this booking. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable but the heat ruined my stay."

"Our first visit to our favourite local Hotel, since the RAD group take over! So disappointing, not at all like under Costleys direction! Poor food,my sea bass accompanied with limp green saled & a small amount of watery potato,no lovely veg or flavours previously found in this dish,no fries on the side( extra) No sparkling glasses, jugs of iced water, cheap cutlery & napkins, unlike before! 2 regular staff known to us,& 2 new young staff! The charm & ambiance of Lochgreen gone( we've been going there for over 30 years for all our special family occasions) A tense atmosphere, with a manager? overseeing but not helping or chatting! The most disappointing visit ever,& they refused my £100 birthday Costley voucher, how many people are aware of this? Very bad taste! They seem to be concentrating on lavish expensive weddings, but that tide is turning, & young people known to me are chosing to marry in Greece& Italy ,for less expense Meanwhile their Restaurant trade will vanish,as such Poor quality. A sad legacy for Bill Costley who did so much to raise the standard in Ayrshire."

Marine Troon ★★★★★
"We had an absolutely amazing stay at The Marine Troon and couldn’t fault the experience. Although the rooms were a little on the smaller side, everything else more than made up for it. The hotel itself is beautiful, the atmosphere is lovely, and the service really stood out to us. The staff were absolutely fantastic throughout our stay and genuinely made us feel so welcome. I’m sure it was Lynn and Megan that we dealt with during our stay, and they were both incredible. They were so friendly, attentive and helpful, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. They really went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and are a huge credit to the hotel."
