"The hotel is beautiful considering it was a convent/monastery and was restored while maintaining the granite features, and they decorated the interior with wood. A perfect combination. In addition, it is located on a hill with a beautiful landscape, from where you can see the entire city of Vila do Conde, the Nau Quinhentista and the Ave River. The service was top quality, with staff always available to help us or clarify any questions. They upgraded our room and were always pampering us. The breakfast was very varied, with very good quality food, in an equally superb room. Whenever we made a suggestion or a request, it was immediately attended to."

"Excellent location, excellent spa. Receptionists were inactive: upon arrival, several people were checking in, and there were 4 employees supposedly there to assist, however, only one employee was doing the check-ins, another was watching, and two others were chatting! Very unprofessional in a reception area full of people waiting to be served. The room was well located, however, there were two cups for coffee, and both were completely dirty; someone used them and they weren't washed! In the bathroom, ants were crawling on the floor. The mattress was very uncomfortable and completely sank! It's a shame there are so many negative points when the place and the building itself have enormous potential, but with so many negative points, the 4 stars it has are not justified!"

"After a long day of walking on the Camino, Vila do Conde was a welcome sight, after crossing the river our accommodation was a short walk away. Arriving at the address we had no directions as to how to check in so I rang the contact number and soon was greeted by a staff member from the adjoining restaurant who spoke no English. Our room was on the first floor facing the street with a view of the river. While the room was small, it was neat and tidy, clean bathroom and a delightful decor. In the foyer outside our room was a communal buffet with provisions to make hot drinks. We had a comfortable one night stay, we kept the windows closed to minimise street noise and ran the air-conditioner to keep up cool. No breakfast was provided, we self-catered with supplies bought from a local supermarket the day before and stored in the mini-bar frig. A nice stay."

"The hostel is very well located and offers good infrastructure. It has an elevator to the upper floors, which provides good comfort and reduces the need to transport luggage. The rooms are spacious, well lit and ventilated. The bathrooms are in good condition, although one shower was closed, it did not cause any problems or wait. Great breakfast."
