"Arrived into Whanganui and found the hotel easily. After checking in, very easily, we went to our room. Not sure how old the hotel is, but the hall way & guest lounge very 1920’s with modern touches - comfortable & elegant. Our room was another elegant room with lovely touches accenting the period of the property. Though looking “old” the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a corner whirlpool bath, as well as a shower too. We ate in the restaurant that evening & both of us had a lovely meal. Great stay & definitely recommend it."

"Disgusting treatment, not child friendly or a safe place for a baby, got kicked out of our room for being “messy” at 8.45am. I have a 1 year old but tbh it was actually still quiet tidy, we left to drop me off somewhere I had to be at 9am with my baby and sitter coming back to clean up and hang in out in our room as we travelled from afar, unfortunately the owner unlocked and entered our room as we drove off and in her eyes it was a pigsty, she couldn’t justify what exact mess she was getting at, I told her it’s just pick up stuff, (which barely there was even a mess) and that we had no where to go and she did not care one bit. If you have a child do not stay here. I stayed here a month ago and she put her head into our room and told me to pick the food up off the ground or she would charge me a carpet cleaning fee, it was a popcorn chicken my baby had just dropped as she was in the middle of eating, I’m a mum of course I’m going to pick it up, it’s what we do. I felt so uncomfortable. Horrible treatment, no compassion, if it was a pigsty then completely understandable but we do not live like pigs!!"

They went way out of there way to find me a room and cheak me in so i could have a hot shower and dry out .. Thank you so much . Rooms are perfectly clean ,warm and cosy ..highly recomended ."
