"The location is fantastic. The Red Brick Warehouse, Chinatown, and Yamashita Park are all within walking distance. The hotel also has a classic, calm atmosphere. However, there was one unfortunate thing… The room above the stairs in the 'yagura' (loft) room was incredibly hot. I tried sleeping with the AC set to 23°C, but it was too uncomfortable. Even at 21°C on rapid cooling, it only felt slightly cooler, which was a subtle improvement. I initially wondered why there was a circulator running, then realized it was to circulate the air. Even with the circulator on its highest setting, it wasn't a comfortable temperature, so I ended up sleeping on the sofa below the 'yagura' (the motor noise was loud). I'm not particularly sensitive to heat, but the air conditioning was subpar no matter where I slept in the room. For reference, my home AC is always set to 26.5°C. The bathroom was great, though; the tub was spacious, and I could stretch my legs out comfortably. It made me wish I had brought a bath bomb. Next time, I'd like to try a different room type."

"The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but it's close to the Ogon-dori subway station, so getting around is still quite convenient. The room size is relatively large for Japan. Ctrip classifies it as a guesthouse. There's no microwave, no bottled water, and no pajamas. The toiletries are just a simple two-in-one. There's a refrigerator and a coin-operated washing machine. The staff might leave early and come back late, so sometimes you don't see them. The room I was assigned had a toilet that you couldn't sit on facing forward; you had to sit sideways, which was a bit disappointing. Since I couldn't find any staff and was too lazy to change rooms, I just made do. There's a large supermarket nearby that has discounts and promotions in the evenings, and there's also a 'Hell Ramen' place, though I personally don't think it's as good as Ichiran."
