"I found this highly rated inn on Ctrip and booked it with the intention of giving it a try. It was really surprising to find such an elegant inn in Nuodeng Ancient Village, Yunlong County, Dali, a relatively niche tourist destination. The owner of the inn, Xiao Huang, is a very careful and gentle girl. She speaks in an organized manner and is not impatient. I didn’t know how to get to the inn with my heavy luggage. When I called her, she patiently told me how to download a Yunnan travel reservation. In carpooling, he explained clearly how to get the puller to pick me up and carry my luggage to the inn. Especially after arriving, she turned on the air conditioner in the room in advance to cool down and relieve her fatigue. The room is also clean, refreshing, and a bit artistic. After eating delicious ham and egg fried rice, we walked around and took a good nap until eight in the morning. The village is very quiet at night, except for the occasional meowing of cats."

"The guesthouse is situated high up in Nuodeng Ancient Village, offering great views. The rooms are nicely designed, and although it only opened in February of this year, the facilities are very new. The owner is very welcoming; he proactively upgraded my room and even treated me to walnuts he grew himself. The owner is a good cook; his ham fried rice and free-range chicken soup were even better than what you can find elsewhere. The owner is also a photographer, and his photos are quite beautiful. I look forward to staying here for a few more days next time. The courtyard is very quiet, perfect for relaxing and unwinding."

Next, the accommodation: the facilities were fine, and the toiletries were good. We checked in at night, and since it had rained, we felt a bit damp, so we immediately turned on the air conditioning and dehumidifiers like the electric blankets, and the dampness disappeared quickly. Our family of three booked a twin room, which was spacious and comfortable. The essential oils and kettle were also quite nice. "I really liked this guesthouse; it's probably the best-decorated guesthouse in Nuodeng. It's definitely worth the price. When I arrived, they said the original double room I booked hadn't been cleaned, so they upgraded me to this double room with a balcony and bathtub, which was great. The pick-up and drop-off service up the mountain was also excellent; everything went smoothly. I was very satisfied with the cleanliness; it was a very clean guesthouse. It rained the whole time I was there, which made the ancient village even more beautiful, especially the view of the village and mountains from the bed—very soothing. The location is superb, absolutely prime. It's conveniently located near restaurants, coffee shops, and places to buy ham. The breakfast was also great, freshly made. If I had to suggest a couple of improvements, one of the windows in the room didn't have curtains, making it too bright in the mornings to sleep in. They did provide disposable steam eye masks, but I'd still appreciate better blackout features, since I mainly wanted to relax here."

"We stayed for two nights as a family of three and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Nuodeng. We’ll definitely be back! The Guesthouse The guesthouse is run by a lovely local Bai family—everyone pitches in, and all were warm and welcoming. The young lady managing the place was a fantastic host, always attentive and happy to accommodate our needs. Grandma was just as friendly! Our three-year-old had a great time playing with their toddler, some neighbourhood kids, and other guests in the spacious twin courtyards. The whole property is tastefully decorated—traditional charm with a modern twist. The Rooms We stayed in one of the older family rooms, set slightly apart in a quieter courtyard. It was clean and peaceful. The newer rooms near the main courtyard are brighter and more contemporary—some even offer sweeping views down the mountainside. The Food The on-site restaurant is excellent and arguably the best value in Nuodeng. Breakfast noodles were delicious, and many dishes featured Nuodeng’s signature cured ham. The cooks were happy to adapt dishes to suit different tastes—less salt for our child, vegetarian options, and more. Surprisingly good espresso, too, at very reasonable prices. Nuodeng Village Perfect for travellers who enjoy slow, exploratory travel. There aren’t many must-see landmarks, but there’s a short scenic hike to an old temple, meandering stone stairways, village animals (great for kids), and a handful of cafés and restaurants.
