Hanamuro Inn AKA Island ★★
"We stayed here for about 1 week in October and we cannot recommend this place enough!! If you like chill vibes in a small sleepy snorkling/freediving town that’s walkable and one with nature, then this is your place ＜3 The rooms were super clean and comfy for us. Yes the bathroom and showers are shared but I don’t mind it. The cleanliness of this place puts any American and European cleaning to shame! The property is close to one beach that’s 2 min away and we snorkelled there every morning. You can also walk to 2 other beaches about 10 min away. The food they served was delicious! We are vegan (for the animals) and they cooked delicious vegan food. Some of the best vegan food we’ve had on our trip. I also had a medical accident and the owner’s wife called the doctor and came with us to the hospital (btw their healthcare also puts American healthcare to share). We are so grateful for their hospitality. All the staff were so nice and accommodating. We dream of returning to this place one day."

"We waited until the day before to book, making sure the weather would be good. No free cancellation options were available. We went to the ferry ticket office to get the ticets to the island where the hotel is and the the ticket sales agent warned us against going since there were reports of high swells that would most likely cancel the ferry for the next few days and we would miss our flight. He would know, its his job! so we decided against going. We explained it to the hotel, even with proof from weather reports about the swells. They refused to refund our stay. the next day I provided more proof with the website of the ferry showing that indeed, it had been cancelled. Still the hotel refused to do any kind of compensation - not even an offer to change the date or slight discount on future bookings, a way for us both to gain from the uncontrollable situation. Trip.com agents tried hard to help. I know they don't control the weather, and the booking did not have free cancellation. So by all rights they dont have to refund me. They don't. I just thought they would be understanding and show some kind of service attitude or polite and professional communication that would make me want to stay there in future. Just a bit of human empathy that I still believe in. Oh well, they got their money for nothing, and I learnt a lesson."

"The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was great. It was only a few minutes' walk to the port, and there were dive shops and restaurants right outside. The breakfast restaurant was also excellent, and it was very convenient to have instant noodles if you got hungry at night."

"Wonderful small hotel. Cool industrial vibe with comfortable bed and pillows. A 3 minute walk to good snorkeling. The small hotel offered us snorkeling gear, beach towels, bug spray and wonderful dinner and breakfast. Fantastic facilities but the real star is their staff."
