"Is the Sheraton Zhanjiang MINYANG really a five-star hotel? What a joke. My stay was an extreme disappointment, and the faulty air conditioning in the rooms was simply unacceptable. In the first room, the AC ran for a long time but only blew out room-temperature air, with no cooling effect at all. The room was hot and stuffy. We immediately called the front desk for repairs. A staff member came up, took a quick look, and just brushed it off, saying the temperature setting was normal and the airflow from the vent was a bit weak. They couldn't fix it on the spot and promptly arranged for us to change rooms. I thought changing rooms would solve the cooling issue, but to my surprise, the AC in the second room also failed to blow cold air. We tried various methods: lowering the set temperature, switching fan modes, and restarting the unit, but the room temperature never dropped. It was unbearably hot inside, making it impossible to get any rest. Most importantly, given the high temperatures, the hotel only half-heartedly provided a very ordinary standing fan as a makeshift solution. It was nearly midnight, with no other viable options, so we had no choice but to rely on that single fan to get through the entire night. It's truly baffling how this hotel managed to earn its five-star rating! The failure of the AC in two consecutive rooms clearly shows a severe lack of pre-arrival room inspection by the hotel. Air conditioning is a fundamental amenity in a guest room, and two rooms having the same problem in a row indicates that the hotel's routine equipment checks are merely a formality, with potential equipment issues going unaddressed for a long time. Throughout the entire communication process, the hotel's handling attitude was very passive, only offering a room change with no compensation or proper apology, completely disregarding our terrible experience. A five-star hotel's foundation lies in service quality and basic accommodation guarantees. The continuous AC failure in two rooms and only providing a fan to guests on a hot night expose deep-seated management flaws. Paying five-star prices only to find that even basic needs like AC cooling and promised booking benefits aren't met creates a huge sense of disappointment. In contrast, many smaller B&Bs, despite their size, ensure air conditioning works, deliver on promised benefits, and treat guests with genuine sincerity. I honestly do not recommend staying at this hotel. I hope the hotel addresses the multiple issues exposed this time: optimizing the check-in verification process, thoroughly inspecting all hotel air conditioning units, and implementing effective routine maintenance. A high price doesn't equate to high quality, and a prestigious brand name needs actual service to back it up. If even basic accommodation experiences can't be guaranteed, even the best brand name will eventually exhaust travelers' trust."
