"Yes, I was able to check in early, which was really helpful. The room was spotless, and there were tea, coffee, and even a biscuit — very impressed. I went to the gym, which was well equipped, even with dumbbells up to 20kg and a bench. The swimming pool and sauna were perfect after my session, and the showers were great quality and very clean. They even had a spinner to dry swimwear. I went for a meal in the restaurant — 10 out of 10. Amazing selection and served straight away. I will definitely be back; for the price, it’s hard to beat. Incredible location as well."

"Check in deadline is 10:30pm, but received multiple phone call of asking arrival time at 10pm even after telling them I am just 3 minutes away and driving during the first phone call. Apparently they just want to off work earlier. Not recommended if you plan to arrive at late night. "

"Location was perfect, Decor in room requires freshening up, Back of the door and part of facings were fresh painted but not completed. Shower requires cleaning (Black mould just needs Bleaching ) and the plastic seals replaced They were yellowed with age. Staff were Very efficient and Friendly 😀"

"Only a one-night room-only stop over on the way north. We arrived around 9pm, parking easily enough, though some distance away around the back of the hotel. We had to wait while the receptionist sold gifts to other guests before we could check in. Room door hit the bed, which wasn't a great first impression, but although small the room (105) was perfectly adequate with a large dressing area on the way to the large bathroom. No meals were taken, and check out was very speedy at 7am as everything had been pre-paid."

"Overall a positive experience here at the Highland hotel. The foyer feels very luxury and the building definitely feels it has some age too it. This does come with the downside of a smell of oldness but its not a bad smell and not noticeable for long. Rooms are clean as was the bathroom, had all the essentials you need, plenty of plugs and the room itself was large and roomy. Others have complained about it being cold but we found the heating to be fine and the beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and for only £56 it was a great value stay. Recommend 👍"

"Excellent hostel! Great common self-catering facilities; there were two full kitchens with plenty of tables and seating so multiple parties could be cooking at a time. Staff were very helpful and let me leave my bag before check-in and after check-out to accommodate my bus times. The room (4-bunk female dorm) was very spacious so plenty of room for sorting through my bags. Bunk was large and included a USB plug and power outlet there. Room had large attached shower and toilet rooms."

"The hotel is looking and feeling very tired and dated and in serious need of upgrading.  They’re charging 2025 prices for 1980 standard services.  They clearly cater for bus tours and large parties which are not there to appreciate where they are and their surroundings.  There was serious problem with running hot water in the room as well as in the showers in the spa.  I overheard many guests complaining about no hot water in their rooms at reception.   Breakfast was very disappointing, they offer a continental selection of one type of cold meat and one type of sliced cheese with pan loaf bread!  Fort William boasts artisan bakery’s so no excuse there.  During breakfast very loud 80s movie themed music is blaring, the dining room is so big there’s practically a speaker above every second table.  When asked to turn it down we were met with a standard reply, “I was just asked to turn it up”. Totally unbelievable.  Due to the large parties tables are not cleared fast enough nor cleaned, we had to clean and set our own table before we could eat and this is where we were directed to sit. Waiting staff are clearly not trained nor directed appropriately for a hotel boasting a high standard.  We were not encouraged to dine in the hotel at all. The exterior of the building is not only showing signs of disrepair but is also very dirty. They are missing the B in the main signage and is the first thing you see on arrival.   Positives:  the room was clean although all views from most rooms do not look out onto anything nice.  Temperature of the pool, steam room and jacuzzi excellent.  The lounge bar appeared to have the best atmosphere and felt like a highland hotel. Would I recommend this hotel? Definitely not!   Would I stay there again? Definitely not!"

"The hotel has seen better days and could do with attention to details, especially the public areas. The rooms however, were clean and organised. Reception staff was very friendly as was one of the restaurant staff. The hotel looks like 25 years ago and hasn’t been updated since. The outside of the hotel doesn’t look inviting, rather scruffy. It also appears to cater for tour groups.  Breakfast was ok, but again a bit of modernisation wouldn’t go amiss. A 10:00 am check out time is too early and should be considered when booking this hotel."
