I have stay this hotel for 5 nights. gotten a free upgrade , and the room size is spacious.
The room is very comfortable and clean.
However, the TV cannot play YouTube, this is one of the shortage
The hotel provides a shuttle bus pick-up from Sapporo Station (Bus Terminal), but reservations can only be made by phone call. Email requests are not accepted. We arrived on a Sunday, and the bus was already fully packed when leaving Sapporo Station, so it is best to book early.
The hotel itself is a little old, though the public area toilets appear to have been recently renovated. The public onsen pools are large and relaxing, but the stone tile flooring can be slippery from long use, so be careful when walking in the bath area.
The buffet has a good spread of dishes. I especially enjoyed the dinner scallop miso soup, handmade sushi, and desserts. The restaurant was lively and fully packed with both local Japanese families and overseas tourists. One minor downside was the seasonal fruit such as lychee. It would be better if the hotel ensured the fruits were properly washed before serving.
Wi-Fi connection in the hotel is strong and stable unlike the big spa hotel in lake Toya which I just stayed a few days ago.
The Hotel is rather OLD. For the western style room that I stayed at, the furniture is founded with lots of chipping and scratches. Carpets are of very old design and colors of the carpet is faded in high traffic areas without replacing before it worn out. The foam/paddings used for the chairs inside the room are losing its elasticity. For the bed, there is a padded comforter provided instead of a proper blanket. In general, the quality of the hotel is not up to nowadays standard in all aspects (except the lake view) given such relatively high room rate charged. But I must admit that the hotel is situated in a very good location and with very nice view of the lake. Love the firework show on the lake in the evening.
Hotel includes dinner and breakfast. Dining is at the ”food hall”, buffet style. Not including the study drinks yen 350. There is a kids corner on the right when entering the cashier counter. The room was on. Japanese style. Maybe due to the environment, the room looks tired. All mental parts were badly rushed in toilet. Car parking is behind the hotel up the hill. Walking to the hell valley is a good 10-15 walk up hill. Could just drive up and park for yen 500.
Overall the place was OK, just old feeling
It might have not been clearly mentioned but there is no air-conditioning provided, only central heating. During my time there, weather was cold out so the room only had 3 levels, low heat, medium heat and high heat. There is no way to sleep in those conditions and it took me a while to realize because the receptionist on the help desk phone did not speak English, so I went down to the lobby past midnight to ask the only staff available. Through some help on google translate and his hand gestures, I was told that I had to leave my windows open to let cold air into the room. This was not explained at any point during the check-in so I guess that's the downside for foreigners wanting to stay here. There's also a hot spring tax you have to pay when you check out. All things considered Jozankei is not a big town so everything is accessible and the hotel is generally comfortable otherwise.
The Windsor Hotel at Toya may boast its status as a premier 5-star luxury destination and its historic role as host of the 2008 G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit, but our recent stay fell far short of expectations.
Despite the grandeur of the location and its breathtaking views, the service quality was surprisingly poor for a hotel of this caliber. English communication was inconsistent and below the standard expected at an international luxury property. Housekeeping was careless—leaving a used cleaning towel on the bed after daily room service, which is simply unacceptable.
When I drove to the main entrance to pick up my family, I was abruptly asked to leave immediately, even though only a few cars were present. This lack of hospitality was jarring. Additionally, being charged for extra bottled water—something even 3-star hotels offer complimentary—felt petty and out of touch with luxury norms.
The most troubling experience came during checkout. Two of our international credit cards failed to process, and although we successfully paid with a third, the staff’s attitude was unprofessional. We were met with a sour expression and the word “FINALLY” once the transaction went through—an unacceptable remark that left a lasting negative impression.
While the hotel’s setting is undeniably beautiful, the overall service and treatment we received did not reflect the standards of a true 5-star experience. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve both staff training and guest relations.

MMisafir KullanıcıHighly highly recommend
This hotel exceeded our expectations
Stayed in the premium corner room with private onsen and the view of Hell Valley, was guided to the room at check in and there was welcome dessert available in the fridge with free mini bar
The private onsen was very good as we could relax in our own rooms while enjoying onsen
We also checked out the main onsen which was very good as well
Good dinner and breakfast
Only regret is staying only for one night
Will come back

AAnonim KullanıcıIt is a good ski in and out resort. The ski area is just at the resort itself, very convenient. there are many toilets and lockers around the resort. The room is dated though, they are still using turning knob for taps and mixer. I thought they should upgrade their rooms given the price we paid for the rooms. Toothbrushes and toothpastes and cotton pads. things, eg ski equipment rental and food, are expensive in the resort. There is nothing much to do other than skiing and snow play. Recommended for family stay.
MMisafir KullanıcıFantastic Onsen hotel..located on the hill top, all rooms assigned overlooking into the OKHOTSK SEA, with huge room and shower room are separated from the WC.
The hotel provide a shuttle bus from UTORO ONSEN BUS TERMINAL and will pick up guests from here.
Another good point is,there is a Airport Bus Liner which comes direct to the hotel to pick guestyfor drop off at Shiretoko Shari Bus terminal enroute to Mambabetsu Airport.
The breakfast is really yummy with lots of spread however the buffet dinner is average and the same spread for the two nites I stayed.
Where else the ONSEN, I would give a 4/5.
Another good point to note is those coming by train to Shiretoko Shari station, opposite is the Shari Bus terminal which provides transer to the UTORO ONSEN BUS TERMINAL.in about 50 mins.
Overall Shireto Daiichi Hotel is a big luxurious hotel and they provide shuttle for onwards bus transfer to the SHIRETOKO NATURE PARK which is so beautiful to wander out to seek nature's awesomeness.

TThe MisadventuristsPerfect ski-in, ski-out resort for a couple. It had a great breakfast as well, and the room was super-comfortable. The onsen was small but very relaxing. The ski shop next door has the friendliest attendants and all the equipment you could need for a day on the Annapuri slopes. The lobby was comfortable with a gas stove and hot chocolate, and the four resorts in the same area all have a free shuttle that runs many times per day to the town of Hirafu and back, so you have plenty of options for shopping and restaurants nearby. Very nice place. We will return for sure!
