Room is quite big and comfortable, beautiful lobby.
The room had double-layered curtains with sheer drapes, which was a very thoughtful touch. Even when the morning sunlight was bright, it didn’t feel harsh. The only pity was that we didn’t get to try the hotel breakfast this time—hopefully, we can enjoy it on my next visit.
It’s a hotel that makes me want to come back again~
very nice Onsen hotel.A very good Onsen.Room is Big compare to Japan Standard.Food was Buffet Morning and Dinner.A lot of variety. Not to bad to eat.Nice view to the mountain from my room.
This is my second time staying at Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East. The main draw is its location - directly linked to Sendai JR Station and S-PAL mall. I checked in on 1 Jan and almost all shops are closed during to the NY holiday. Luckily Yodabashi next door is opened and there is a food hall there. The tourist Loople Bus is also a few minutes walk from the hotel. Room size is good.
What I didn’t like was no place to hang your clothing in the bathroom, though not much issue for me since I’m travelling alone And the toiletries like cotton wool are not replenished on 1 of the 4 nights I was there.
Noted: don’t be mistaken with Hotel Metropolitan Sendai (without the East).
Would definitely stay here again after spending 4 nights here.
Seems to be a new hotel in a good location in Sendai. It’s less than a ten minute walk from Sendai Station, it’s located even closer to the Subway, just 1 block from shopping arcade, and a few blocks from the Asaiichi market.
Hotel room was very spacious for 3 including a 1 year old. Our room was on the 11th floor with a view of the next buildings rooftop. The lights are controlled with a touch screen. Wifi seemed to work well. Good luggage and jacket storage at the entry way.
Lots of free amenities in the lobby and you can get 2 bottle of water per day. We did not have breakfast during our stay but the lounge is open from ~2pm to ~9pm and there’s a Starbucks coffee/latte machine. You may also purchase a glass of sake for ¥500 from a machine. The second floor has pay laundry machines, microwave, ice machine, and vending machines.
Hotel staff was helpful. They can arrange your luggage to be sent to your next destination. I don’t think there is any added service charge. I had opted for no cleaning when booking to save a little but they still cleaned the room daily.
My only complaint is when I asked for a new key because i lost one, the receptionist gave some attitude and said that I should look in my room for it after issuing another key.
Great location! Few minutes walk from Sendai station and surround with lots of shops, restaurants and department store. There are 7-eleven and Starbucks at the first floor. The room is very nice. Everything is new, clean, with good space for two 28” luggage to open at the same time and we still can walk around the room. The staffs were so nice and provided prompt support. We found problem about the hair dryer at midnight and the staff changed a new one to us immediately.
There are free amenities that you could pick at lobby.
Highly recommend and would definitely choose this hotel if we have a chance to visit Sendai again 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We booked one room on the first day it seemed like a Japanese bathroom that the floor is wet Probably not renovated yet The next day we got the room with modern bathroom
Our stay was pleasant the rooms were clean Thanks to google translate that even the front reception was not quite fluent in English we could communicate very well Very convenient location Right next to the main train station a lot of restaurants to choose from also next to the shopping mall There is a fish market nearby but most of the fish is for your own cooking Can not buy fresh sashimi there There is a seafood restaurant close to the market
Perfect hotel location. A few steps to the shopping streets, restaurants, groceries, and convenient stores. A few minutes walk to train stations. Hotel was clean and we were given a family room instead of just a double bed room with windows facing the main road where the shopping streets are. Staff were all nice.Price was reasonable as it was not a busy season. Breakfast was reasonable for the price. Would love to stay again next time we are on that side. Thank you.
The property is quite old and the bathroom was not properly cleaned. The room was spacious. No wifi in room, only at the lobby. The top floor open-air Onsen is excellent. The buffet is superb both dinner and breakfast especially for the price I paid. After checking out, they even have a shuttle brought only me to the train station.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe hotel is very clean and tidy, the layout of the room is very comfortable. Not very close to the JR station but it is expected but the hotel is surrounded by alot of restaurants and shops. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, they give me some tips of about Sakura photo shooting, one of them can speak fluent Mandarin.
I like the bathroom alot, very spacious. I look forward to stay in this hotel again.
MMisafir KullanıcıLocation a little away from the centre, no that easy to get to but in a quiet residential area. Very friendly staff with good service. Also allowed to leave baggage after check in. The lady who helped with that also had perfect English. Unfortunately I ended up at a time where the prices were extortionate due to some event happening but this was the most affordably priced option without sacrificing too much, also one of the very few with rooms available at that time too. Happy with this and would recommend if you don't mind a bit of distance to the centre.

MMisafir KullanıcıI am so glad I chose Komatsu-kan during my stay in Matsushima. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful. When I told him I am a vegetarian, he kindly informed the kitchen to exclude animal flesh and seafood from my meal. (Usually, hotels ignored my food request, or they just gave me tofu and pickles for my meal.) The next morning, I was so surprised to see my breakfast. I loved the fresh salad, steamed vegetables, over-easy eggs, chawan-mushi, and the pickles even tasted better than before.
Then the room surprised me with the pine tree and the beautiful sea view. The next morning I woke up at 4:45 to see the sunrise. Just from my room, I could see the sun slowly rising from the other side of the sea. Stunning! I really enjoyed the little Me time here.
Actually, this hotel is well-maintained, and that helps raise the value of it. I also love the fresh little flowers right next to the washing basin. And the people working here are quite ya-sa-shi. They are kind and gentle. Generally speaking, this is a nice place worth staying and relaxing in.
JJoyee LaiFrom the moment we entered the hotel, the atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. We were warmly welcomed with a Nespresso coffee machine available as a welcome drink, which was a very nice touch.
The room was slightly more spacious than most hotels in Japan, beautifully designed, and very clean—making our stay comfortable from the start.
During our stay, we experienced the Aomori earthquake. We could clearly feel the shaking, and our phones received emergency alerts, so we quickly evacuated using the outdoor emergency stairs. When we reached the lobby, a staff member named 佐藤 (Sato) was already there, calmly reassuring guests. He noticed a lady who had run out barefoot and quietly brought her a pair of slippers without making a scene—such a thoughtful gesture.
Mr. Sato was friendly and attentive during check-in, and during the earthquake he remained calm, clear, and informative. His professionalism and kindness left a deep impression on us.
Overall, a wonderful stay with excellent service and genuine care for guests. Highly recommended.
MMisafir KullanıcıSo this place would get all 5 stars if it wasn't for the parking, though that's an issue in many places in Japan, so maybe don't listen to the foreigner's complaint on that one. :) The service and staff were top notch and the food was varied and good. The bath was nice and it was band-aid friendly, they even had some at the front desk, for those who understand what I mean. The room was clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.
MMisafir KullanıcıThe location is fanastic. It is close to Sendai JR Station, Sendai Morning Market and shopping streets. It is especially important given we have 2 ninety-year-old ladies in our group.
Breakfast was great. The dining hall was of Art Deco design. It had a mixture of western and Japanese dishes. The amount was plentiful and quality was good.
The onsen was free. There were jacuzzi and old water bath. It is pity that there was no open air bath.
We would consider a return if we happen to come back to Sendai.
