"This hotel is massive. Its comprises of 3 buildings and each building has its own public bath. And one of them has outdoor bath. The room I booked has balcony but it was too chilly to sit outside. Gym and swimming pool are also available but for ¥1,000 fee. Dinner was not impressive but the hotel provided 2 different foods on each dinner during my 2-day stay. Breakfast spread was good but it is buffet style and it was busy and chaotic. The best thing about this location it is very close to Gero station yet the hotel has pick ip and drop off service for every train schedules."

"The room is a lot bigger than I expected it to be. I could open my (clamshell-type) luggage fully and still have space to walk!! The hostel is located about a 10min walk, down a straight main road, away from the train/bus station/terminal. Not exactly a pleasant walk in the summer heat, but for the price I gave it no mind. Am very thankful that the hostel has an elevator, saved me from having to lug my luggage up the stairs. It’s also such a sweet touch for the hostel staff to left a sweet (handwritten) welcome message on the bedside table! Takayama is rather walkable city, so it wasn’t troublesome to get to most of the tourist spots on foot!"

"Exceptional accommodation and service! My husband and I purely enjoyed our time at Yunoshimakan. We had a room with private open air bath because of my tattoos (so public bath wasn’t an option), and it was 100% worth its price. Kaiseki dinner was excellent, the buildings are adorable, we couldn’t wish a better service. Before coming, I thought that more than 1 day at onsen is waste of time — and totally regret the hadn’t made a choice to stay for a longer time. My advice: order a taxi or ask for a transfer if you carry a suitcase. I am really sorry for my husband who needed to carry our luggage 300m upstairs."

We love this hotel.. I really like Takayama unfortunately I stayed only 1 N as a stopover. We will visit again. The only issues is i do prefer high floor.. and was given 2nd but since we only stay for 1nite .. I did not change. Will visit again. Did not have time to check out other part of the facilities. We ordered dinner and breakfast with accommodation.. the dinner was excellent . Breakfast spread is great.. lots of choices. Service is excellent in the restaurant.

The room is exactly same as the photo on Trip.com, it is clean and spacious. Although it is close to railway station, but no noise in the midnight, my husband and I had a very good sleep at night. The bed and shower are so comfy, definitely will stay this hotel again if I visit Takayama again.

Exceptional accommodation and service! My husband and I purely enjoyed our time at Yunoshimakan. We had a room with private open air bath because of my tattoos (so public bath wasn’t an option), and it was 100% worth its price. We are here for their onsen (can opt for private or public) and because of its strategic location from the train station and bus station. There are alot of food options within short walking distance, around 10-15 min walk to reach miyagawa river and enjoy their morning market. The hotel provides odens and new year noodle because we spent new year during our stays. They put extra care for kids amenities with a cute slippers and handkerchief. We enjoy our stay in Takayam

The quality of the hotel is very high. It's conveniently located near the train station and a 15 minute walk to the old town. The spa is really nice, clean, and spacious. The family spa is a nice touch. Rooms are very large, comfortable beds, with a tub. The only drawback is breakfast. The restaurant is too small to accommodate guests. It's odd that it's common in Japan to have large hotels, with many guests, include breakfast, and then build a tiny restaurant. Makes no sense. Options are limited and food is the same every day. I wouldn't recommend it, but there's so few options nearby or in the town in general, that you basically have to eat there. Just go before 8 AM. Otherwise, the hotel is really nice.

The room with onsen is very good. The room size is large and there’re indoor & outdoor onsen in your room. The water is always full in bathtub and quite hot. You can relax all time in your room. The breakfast and dinner are Japanese food. You may book the time of your meal during check in. The last dinner time is 18:30 hrs.

Rice was cold (personally it’s simply unacceptable in any Japanese restaurant except for sushi may be?), the chef seems to enjoy making fusion dishes (and except that they were unappetising). To name but a few, we had strawberry mousse for starter, tofu (which was bitter) and pickles with miso for mains, and who’d put diced apple in an apple sorbet?? (Felt as though I was biting into ice cubes). The waitress was also extremely impatient and rushed us through our meals (we finished our dinners within 35 minutes, breakfasts 20). I honestly cannot recommend this hotel. Sorry, but no.

Staying there for 3 nights. Our room don’t come with daily housekeeping, but we were told that we can leave the used towel and garbage bin at the door (inside the unit) so that the housekeeping can change the towels for us. However both days they did not change and we have to go and request after we return to the room. We even bring the bath towel to lobby but unable to get it exchange as reception mentioned need to wait for housekeeping . Hotel car park is full so we park at the public carpark across the street.

In the Takasu Ski district, this is about the most impressive hotel option. Since there is very little dining options in the town of 1 street, we are thankful for the good quality restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The rooms decor is dated but in very good condition, for a moment I felt like I was in an Austrian ski lodge. The onsen was also dated but in good functioning condition. There is on site parking which may not be enough during peak season. Then again, Takasu ski-jo looks like a day trip option.
