Great hotel, with unbeatable view of Ella rock on the balcony. However the room did not have universal plug sockets, the hotel provided a hairdryer but did not fit the plug socket. It is also very difficult to get to with suitcases. Fine if you’re backpacking, but carrying suitcases up the massive hill is very difficult. Perhaps the hotel should look into purchasing their own tuktuk to ferry customers up and down the hill. Not everyone is a backpacker!

Приехали уставшими и не в духе, но нас так душевно встретили, что настроение поднялось сразу. Хозяева напоили чаем, пообщались по-домашнему – чувствуешь себя не клиентом, а желанным гостем. Отель на вершине горы, и из каждого номера – выход на террасу с потрясающим видом. Утром просыпаешься – а перед тобой только горы и тишина. Номер чистый, уютный, всё продумано до мелочей. Завтрак готовили специально под наши предпочтения: свежие фрукты, яичница, тосты, даже смузи! Персонал не формально вежливый, а по-настоящему добрый. Если хотите не просто переночевать, а почувствовать заботу и отдохнуть душой – это точно ваше место. Хочется вернуться снова и всем рекомендовать. Огромное спасибо хозяевам за такую атмосферу!

**”An Outstanding Stay at Alta Vista – Highly Recommended!”**   We had an **absolutely wonderful** experience at Alta Vista, thanks to the **exceptional hospitality** of **Nandan and his team**. The **spacious, well-equipped rooms** (with both fans and AC) provided a **comfortable and relaxing retreat**.   The **breakfast was a highlight** – a **delicious, wide spread** that set the perfect tone for our days. The **prime location** was unbeatable – just a **2-minute walk to the main city center**, with easy access to **trending restaurants and vibrant spots**.   What truly made our stay special was the **attentive service and warm atmosphere**. **Great food, fantastic service, and genuinely caring staff** – we couldn’t have asked for more!   **Highly recommend** Alta Vista for travelers seeking **comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality**. **Thank you for a memorable stay One thing which can make more effective is WhatsApp service. WhatsApp will speed up things. Service was prompt if you have a Srilanka number over phone call.

Keeping in mind this is a 3 star hotel, the positives are the rooms are big with a balcony looking out at amazing views (ours anyway), and the pool is clean and quite big also with amazing views and a concrete elephant water feature!!! The location of the hotel is pretty good too - far enough from other properties to be quiet but close enough to Ella main drag that you can walk in 10-15 minutes or pay a tuk tuk driver double the rate of Colombo to get to and from. The big negative for us was that despite being told upon checking in that the room would be cleaned every day, it was not. And I was told the reason why was that we didn’t hand in our key for it to be done - which seems bizarre after staying in hotels for decades and not being told to or having to hand in a key in order to get a standard daily room clean. The insinuation that it was our fault for not handing in a key (not that we were told to do so on checking in) was extremely irritating. Food was ok but overpriced so we ate elsewhere (lots of options). There were lots of little things in the rooms that could be easily addressed to make them nicer - definitely not having ripped old bath towels, and removing an empty TV bracket from the wall (like a TV used to be there but not anymore - or was it just our room, who knows). All these little things add up to I really think the room rate is too high - but we are here in the high season so maybe that’s just the going rate.

Отель подойдёт тем, кто планирует целыми дня отсутствовать, посещая достопримечательности Эллы и возвращаясь сразу ложиться спать. Я брал обычный номер (кровать, небольшой «стол», стул, тумбочка, душ/туалет. Для меня комната очень маленькая и в кровать я не вмещался (рост 190см). Но мне очень понравилось гостеприимство хозяина отеля и его друга, они очень дружелюбные и старались создать максимальный комфорт! Есть просторная веранда на первом этаже, где можно скоротать вечер или поработать в ноутбуке. Завтраки вкусные и сбалансированные, что мне тоже очень понравилось, также несколько раз ужинал здесь же - всё понравилось, вкусно!
