"I booked for 3 nights stay at the hotel. On my first night, I checked into my room which was facing Beatty Street overlooking the BC Place, there was a 2-day concert on going until 11pm. I rang the front desk and asked for room swap, unfortunately all rooms were fully booked at the time. The next day I received a call from the front desk and they were happy to offer another room for my remaining stay, away from the main street where the concert was held. Overall great hotel location, right in the middle of city centre with lots restaurants and shops."

"Very clean rooms. The hotel has been newly renovated. Quite area of Richmond/ Vancouver airport. Not much dining around the place if you aren’t driving. The hotel has a restaurant and there is a McDonald’s nearby. Parking is an extra 25 dollars a night. There is a nice gym on the 11th floor."

"I called the hotel before my flight to ask about the shuttle bus service, and the girl who answered was like a robot in her answers and didn't seem interested in giving me very detailed or friendly answers. I was a little worried about finding the bus and asked if there was anything I needed to know about how to find the bus, and instead of explaining that the bus would have the name of the hotel on it (which was the case in the end, but isn't always the case in my experience- and I have travelled a lot) she just very robotically said to go to the charter pick up area. The shuttle bus was the main reason I booked this hotel, and I was a little bit choked by this interaction. The room was okay, it was clean, but confusingly unlit. The only light connected to a switch in the room was by the door, the rest of the room was lit only by 4 lamps (one of which didn't work) and it was incredibly dark in the room, even in the morning hours after the sun rose. The comforter on the bed was just a piece of batting sandwhiched in between two white flat sheets rather than a duvet cover. It would have been a nice service to have brought me a toothbrush to my room when I called down to the front desk and requested one, instead they made me come to the front desk in my pajamas for one. The hallways stunk of **** covered up by perfume. The guy who checked me in was nice and friendly, even though he had a lineup of people waiting to check in late at night and that must have been a little stressful for him. Overall, I felt the customer service at this hotel could be improved. Even if $120/night is not wildly expensive for Vancouver, it's still a lot of money, and the customer service doesn't need to suffer as a result."

"To be honest I don't really understand where those bad reviews came from. The location is very convenient, 10 mins drive from the airport and free airport shuttle is running every 30mins till 11:30pm (I took the last bus). Hotel is dated but it is very well maintained and clean. Theres also a small grocery store and a very nice little Japanese restaurant nearby - bonus point. Receptionists were helpful and friendly. Happy hour at the restaurant was such a good deal too."

"- located in a vantage point that is very close to all conveniences, such as Walmart, supermarkets and restaurants; - nice and comfortable apartment that commands a lovely view of Vancouver downtown; - squeaky clean and spick and span; - very comfortable mattresses and duvets;You are mollycoddled, from the very first moment you hit the sack; - a wonderful indoor pool! "Location is good. It is relatively close to the sky train and restaurants. However, the walls are thin and we can hear our neighbors walking and faucet running. The building is old with some renovations done. Could improve on the shower pressure and the air condition fan was noisy. The description on our room was “courtyard view” but I got the view of the roof with some air units and rain water. Staff at the front desk was courteous. I think parking should have been included."

"Perfect for a long layover, the Sandman hotel provides complimentary airport pickup and drop off in 15 minutes intervals. The receptionist was very friendly, he upgraded my room to a loft style, the room was spacious and nicely decorated. One thing that was little disturbing is the noise from the air conditioner."

"Everything was good except for the water. I dont know if its because my room was at the top floor (11th floor) that the water pressure couldnt make the shower flow properly but the water pressure was so low that i cant even take a proper shower. That was my only issue."

"Starting in Hanoi we arrived at Vancouver airport at 19:00 and would fly the next day at 14:00 to Mexico. Perfect schedule for a night in the hotel. The Check inn was fast. We got an offer for diner and breakfast. But not that hungry so we decided to skip it and eat some simple breakfast on the airport itself the next day. If you are hungry and have time, it looked like a nice deal. Look up the deal before you go so you know if you want it. The room was clean, big and had good wifi. The location is perfect, you get your bags and walk to the hotel. No need for transport or go into the cold. Only the room felt cold. We put the heater on 26 Celcius, but i think it just got 18 celcius. That is cold when you stayed in Asian heat for a few months. But we had a perfect sleep in a big warm bed and started the rest of our journey refreshed."
