"I had a pleasant stay at Art Hotel Kagoshima. The hotel offers a beautiful view of Sakurajima, especially from the rooms facing the bay — waking up to that scenery was truly memorable.
The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful throughout my stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the overall service felt professional and efficient.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a short stay. The bed was cozy, and the room layout made good use of space.
Breakfast was enjoyable, with a nice selection of Japanese and Western dishes, and the restaurant had a lovely view as well. The hotel’s location is convenient — just a short drive from the city center and ferry terminal.
Overall, Art Hotel Kagoshima is a great choice for travelers looking for comfort, good value, and beautiful views of Sakurajima. I would be happy to stay here again."

"It was very easy to get to from the train station using the tram. The room was as advertised and the bathroom was little but very functional, it's always fun to see how well they use the space in Japan! It is very close to the terminal passenger ferry as well. We stayed 2 nights !"

"It was a wonderful stay. The hotel management was excellent, and the room was in great condition. I want to give a special mention to Miss Gotanda 五反田, who guided me after check-in. Her detailed explanations and warm smile set a positive tone even before I checked in. The hotel's hot spring overlooks Sakurajima volcano, enjoy hot spring while watching the sunrise was a truly delightful experience. I will definitely come back again next time."

"I was staying there during Mar 1 to Mar 4 at the Executive bank high level family room. The hotel is clean and the environment is good. The reception staff are nice, especially Ms. Saho Ueno, she is helpful. On the 2nd night of my stay, one of my family members felt sick and needed to attend to hospital. Ms. Saho helped to contact the hospital and tried her best to communicate and convey all the messages between hospital and me, and did everything she could when the paramedic arrived the hotel. We heartful thank for Ms. Saho's great assistance and really appreciate her sincere attitude and outstanding service."

"這家酒店沒留下房間照片，因為第一次遇上攜程訂錯房，入住後發現房間偏小，問了前台説是訂單訂的無窗18平米，而不是我下單的有窗21平米。攜程客服核實後告知當天酒店沒有我訂的房型了，卻沒提任何補救型方案或建議，當天溝通了七小時至晚上10點也沒有結果，衹得住下。。。後續省略一萬字的糟心攜程體驗。
酒店地理位置很好，從中央站出來一路沒台階有頂棚，步行5分鐘。周邊有家著名豬排店。前台有位中國妹妹。
缺點是竟然沒有護髮素，日本旅遊了十幾年，第一次遇到！"

I front of hotel there is also direct tram station which connect you to bus that go around Kagoshima city , I just need a day pass swhich can be bought from The concierge.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe location is superb, room was clean, spacious and with a nice balcony. The room provided all you need on a leisure trip.
The only downside was it was super complicated and time consuming to contact the hostel for entrance pin, check-in procedure and check-in number. We asked the front desk receptionist of our previous hotel to call the hostel number stated on trip.com booking confirmation email in morning, but no one picked up; called again at 3pm, and the hostel hotline said the number was wrong and referred us to call another number. If we did not have the assistance from a Japanese local receptionist from another hotel, I dont think we could get the entrance pin and check-in procedure information smoothly.
I recommend this hostel to Japanese local, or tourists with a Japanese mobile number to make calls/able to find assistance from Japanese local people.

HHoshLet's start with the pros. This hotel is basically joined to the JR Kyushu Shinkasen / Kagoshimachuo station which is joined to the AMU Plaza shopping mall and it also has a tram stop right outside the mall (Kagoshima-chuo eki mae tram stop). So in terms of location I think this hotel ticks all the boxes. The lady at the front counter who was checking me was very friendly, however, we both had to use a translator to communicate 😂 . I believe that is it for the pros.
Moving on to the cons. This hotel is starting to show its age (and not in a good way). The room was small, the bathroom is vintage, it felt dewy and it gave me an allergy attack.
The 3 gripes I had:
1) The fix AC near the ceiling was blowing directly onto the bed which was really uncomfortable. I believe this contributed to my allergy flare-up.
2) The bed and the pillow was not very comfortable. I did not sleep well for the couple of nights. Or it could've just been the AC.
3) The hotel didn't offer any bottled waters. I would rather they take away the cheap plastic toothbrush and comb and offer the bottled waters instead.

The clothes freshener was very convenient. 12th floor had ice and water dispensers, vending machines and a public bath. The included breakfast coud serve as our lunch. Overall we loved our stay.

OOlga TarAmazing hotel, truly. Conveniently located near the airport shuttle stop and tram stop. All the combini nearby, lots of restaurants and cafes. It is situated at the corner of the arcade quarters, so it is very comfortable to walk almost anywhere under the roof that protects you from both sun and rain. Walking distance from ferry to Sakurajima and toppy/rocket port to Tanegashima and Yakushima (sadly, no arcades on that stretch of distance).
The rooms are nice and clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, amenities are amazing (bath salts and coffee drips even!). The service is top-notch! They even provided a shoe drying machine and helped us on several occasions.
Probably best value for money in Kagoshima if you're looking for an affordable but comfortable stay.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe hotel was located a 2 minute walk from the airport bus stop. It was also close to tram stops and a don quijote across the road. The room was a little small but we managed to make space for 2 large suitcases by moving things around. There is also a massage chair in the room which was a random nice touch. I really recommend the breakfast as there was an all fish option which is great if you're muslim and only eat halal. It gave us the opportunity to try something traditional that I would not have been able to before. Freshly made bonito flakes too! The hotel also has a luggage disposal service as my suitcase broke on the way there, it costed 3300 yen. It was a convenient, clean and safe stay :)

MMisafir KullanıcıWe ended up in a magnificent corner room with a view of Sakurajima - possibly the best room in the hotel - but only after a struggle. On arrival, we were told that our Standard King room was double-booked and we would have to move after one night to a smaller room. The hotel blamed the mix-up on Trip.com. Since we had booked almost two months prior and had arrived first, this didn't wash. We pressed our claim and the result was good. A lovely, modern room with exceptional facilities - including a private sauna - and magnificent view.
But it speaks poorly of the hotel's customer service that it took some determined push-back to achieve this result. The hotel's initial attitude was that the we should lose out over a mix-up that had nothing to do with us. A first-rate place, if you can trust the booking.

One of my favorite memories from traveling Japan is sitting at the low tables in the common area, eating a convenience store dinner and watching baseball on the tv. I was only there 3 nights but it felt like it would’ve been an easy place to settle into for a longer stay. There was a fridge and kitchen, two showers & toilets, laundry, luggage storage, lockers, etc. Very close to the train station. Rooms were clean, I felt like the staff did a great job on the upkeep. I would definitely recommend you stay here. The only thing to be aware of is that the mattresses are really thin so the sleeping surface feels really hard.

MMisafir KullanıcıIt’s only a 6-minute walk from Kagoshimachuo Station! I stayed in the Tatami Room which can be relatively small for people with big luggages. Like other hostels, the toilets, shower rooms, and common space are shared among the floor. However, I do find the shower area a little small. Many of us wouldn’t enter the shower area if somebody was using the sink because the sink was right in front of one shower cubicle HAHAHA. And yes, there’s only one sink in the common shower area.
I would recommend this place if you are doing a short stay in Kagoshima because there’s lots of shops and restaurants around the area! By the way, it’s located along the same lane as the famous “tonkatsu kawakyu とんかつ川久”. Please try it because it’s the best tonkatsu I’ve ever eaten!
