"I had a pleasant stay at Art Hotel Kagoshima. The hotel offers a beautiful view of Sakurajima, especially from the rooms facing the bay — waking up to that scenery was truly memorable.
The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful throughout my stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the overall service felt professional and efficient.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a short stay. The bed was cozy, and the room layout made good use of space.
Breakfast was enjoyable, with a nice selection of Japanese and Western dishes, and the restaurant had a lovely view as well. The hotel’s location is convenient — just a short drive from the city center and ferry terminal.
Overall, Art Hotel Kagoshima is a great choice for travelers looking for comfort, good value, and beautiful views of Sakurajima. I would be happy to stay here again."

"It was very easy to get to from the train station using the tram. The room was as advertised and the bathroom was little but very functional, it's always fun to see how well they use the space in Japan! It is very close to the terminal passenger ferry as well. We stayed 2 nights !"

"Let's start with the pros. This hotel is basically joined to the JR Kyushu Shinkasen / Kagoshimachuo station which is joined to the AMU Plaza shopping mall and it also has a tram stop right outside the mall (Kagoshima-chuo eki mae tram stop). So in terms of location I think this hotel ticks all the boxes. The lady at the front counter who was checking me was very friendly, however, we both had to use a translator to communicate 😂 . I believe that is it for the pros.
Moving on to the cons. This hotel is starting to show its age (and not in a good way). The room was small, the bathroom is vintage, it felt dewy and it gave me an allergy attack.
The 3 gripes I had:
1) The fix AC near the ceiling was blowing directly onto the bed which was really uncomfortable. I believe this contributed to my allergy flare-up.
2) The bed and the pillow was not very comfortable. I did not sleep well for the couple of nights. Or it could've just been the AC.
3) The hotel didn't offer any bottled waters. I would rather they take away the cheap plastic toothbrush and comb and offer the bottled waters instead."

"Amazing hotel, truly. Conveniently located near the airport shuttle stop and tram stop. All the combini nearby, lots of restaurants and cafes. It is situated at the corner of the arcade quarters, so it is very comfortable to walk almost anywhere under the roof that protects you from both sun and rain. Walking distance from ferry to Sakurajima and toppy/rocket port to Tanegashima and Yakushima (sadly, no arcades on that stretch of distance).
The rooms are nice and clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, amenities are amazing (bath salts and coffee drips even!). The service is top-notch! They even provided a shoe drying machine and helped us on several occasions.
Probably best value for money in Kagoshima if you're looking for an affordable but comfortable stay."

I front of hotel there is also direct tram station which connect you to bus that go around Kagoshima city , I just need a day pass swhich can be bought from The concierge.

EEvan 勾勾It was a wonderful stay. The hotel management was excellent, and the room was in great condition. I want to give a special mention to Miss Gotanda 五反田, who guided me after check-in. Her detailed explanations and warm smile set a positive tone even before I checked in. The hotel's hot spring overlooks Sakurajima volcano, enjoy hot spring while watching the sunrise was a truly delightful experience. I will definitely come back again next time.

The clothes freshener was very convenient. 12th floor had ice and water dispensers, vending machines and a public bath. The included breakfast coud serve as our lunch. Overall we loved our stay.

AAshitaNoHikariFirst I’ve stayed here in March 2020. And loved the hotel. After five years everything is still perfect. I like room, onsen and breakfast. And location is perfect too. Tbh I like everything about this hotel. Definitely will stay here in my next trip to Kagoshima.

FFenzgen3鹿児島随一の繁華街である天文館より徒歩３分の立地にあるシティホテルです。
今回お部屋はシングルルームでしたが、都心部のシングルルームより少し広い気がしました。
バスルームは安定のユニットバス。
しかし、特筆すべき事項として「人工温泉完備」です。
入浴時間は６：００～９：００と１６：００～２４：００
タオルは自室から持っていくスタイルですが、楽しませていただきました。
また、アメニティ類は客室完備で連泊の方は毎回ベッドメイクが入ります。
5,000円台で泊まらせていただきましたがトップクラスのコスパの良さだと思います。
ホテル出てすぐのところにコンビニがあるのもいいですね。
駐車場の位置は少しわかりにくいですが、表通りから一つ裏に入ったところにあります。
一泊当たり1,100円で出し入れは自由です。ただし、機械式立体駐車場のため入庫できる車種が限られる可能性がありますのでご注意を
全体的に満足できるホテルでした。
鹿児島市内に泊まるときはリピートしたいと思います。

SShin-Woei FannThis hotel locates a liitle bit away from the Kagoshima hot zone but close to the Ferry Port toward the Sakurajima.
There is also a supermarket across the street full of general groceries and foods, where you can see a lot of local people shopping inside.
It seems all of the LiveMax hotel room has no chair with back.
The cost is pretty worth of it compared to most of hotels in the same level.

KKHop5mins' walk to Kagoshimachuo Station. Could hear trains passing by now and then but it doesn't really affect sleep. Polite staff. We stayed for two nights and got slightly different breakfast options each morning which is a plus!

MMisafir KullanıcıEven though this is an old hotel and it shows in its facilities and overall design, the service and amenities you get as a solo traveller is worth thw price you pay for an overnight stay. The room is clean albeit small but sufficient. Some points to take note if you're planning to book:
This is close to the central station so it's juat a block away from major shopping and transport options.
The hotel closes its front desk and doors at 11 pm to 7 am. Checkin before 11 pm. Going in and out of the hotel at that time is possible if you use your key card to open the front doors.
Walls are thin and it's very possible that you would hear your neighbor.
There's free coffee and drinks at the lobby.
