"One of the best onsen hotels ever for a good price value! It’s about under 10minute walk from Matsumoto Station situated in a quiet corner of the main road. You have to take off your shoes and store them at the front entrance shoe lockers, because the entire hotel floor is tatami (good experience). Front desk staff very hospitable as they even help to wipe your luggage wheels clean. Room is also entirely tatami, pretty spacious, and very clean. Appreciate that the air conditioner can be toggled between heating & cooling, instead of centralized conditioning. There’s a small private shower cubicle. There’s a free welcome snack in the fridge everyday. At 9:30pm-11pm, there’s even free “Yonaki Soba Noodles”. The public onsen itself was also great, with both indoor and outdoor options. The bed is of a low bed frame slightly mimicking futon style, it was a good night sleep. Definitely will be back to any of their similar chains across Japan!"

"信大に用があり、以前はカフェだったこちらを利用しました。信大横田（横田信大）循環線の追分から近く、岡田線のバス停からもすぐなのでアクセスはとても良いです。衛生面については本当に最高です。公共エリアはすべて掃除が行き届いており、気持ちよく使うことができます。男女のエリアがしっかり分られているため女性も安心です。　また表の方で夜は食事をすることもできるため、駅前まで出かける必要がないのもいいですね。デリシアもすぐなのて買い物にも困りません。料金に含まれていた朝食も十分な量で美味しかったです。今でも良いドミトリーだったなあと思い返すほど良い宿泊体験でした。"

"The hotel is showing its age. Furniture is dated & the beds were VERY hard. There was a Big step up into the bathroom from the room which is difficult if your a senior like my wife & I. The front office staff were friendly and helpful."

"I stayed in the single room with shared bathroom. The room is comfortable but beware that there is no door in the room, just a courtain so it’s very much like sleeping in dorms in terms of noise. They do sell earplugs in the reception. Facilities are clean. Location is great, very close to the station. Good value for price."

We were just a short drive from the iconic Matsumoto Castle, one of Japan's most beautiful original castles. Strolling through the historic Nakamachi Street with its classic white-walled storehouses turned boutique shops and cafes was a delightful way to spend an afternoon. In addition to its proximity to cultural sites, Shoho serves as a great base for nature enthusiasts. The nearby Kamikochi Valley offers stunning hiking trails that showcase the unspoiled beauty of the Japanese Alps. Returning to the comfort of the hotel after a day of exploration was something we looked forward to, especially knowing a soothing onsen soak awaited us. In summary, Shoho encapsulates the essence of Japanese hospitality. Every aspect of our stay was thoughtfully curated to provide comfort, relaxation, and cultural enrichment.
