"It was a wonderful experience. It was our first time, so I have lots of questions, the staff were very cooperative and attentive to our needs. The heater in the room was particularly good.
I love the small details and gestures. They packed us snacks as we didn't eat breakfast to visit jade dragon snow mountain. It was close to baisha town and had lots of food options. I will highly recommend it."

"This homestay was our best stay during our trip to Yunnan.
First of all the staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful . They provided us with tips to book our visits to different attractions. Communication was easy even though we did not speak the same language via a Wechat group. It was very practical to ask anything we needed and the staff was very fast to answer.
Second, our room was simply amazing. It was very spacious and clean, with an amazing view over Yulong Snow Mountain. It was decorated with taste and toiletries of very good quality were provided. The bed was big and comfortable.
Third, we enjoy the location next to a farm, on Baisha's main street, but away from the noise and hussle because the hotel is further down the street.
Breakfasts and night snacks provided were delicious!
Thank you guys we really enjoyed our stay"

"This is the best stay through out our trip in yunnan. We still talks about this place even after the end of our trip. Our itinerary changed last minute and i’m so glad we get to experience staying here. The butler, Daxi contacted us before our arrival to pickup our luggage and guide us to the hotel just in case the driver doesn’t want to drop us at the main door. She gave a tour of the hotel and the rooftop has the best unblocked view. When we were having troubles with our booking to JDSM, she voluntarily helped solve things out and goes out of her way to ensure everything is in order. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, the breakfast is nice and the service is magnificent. This was the best stay during our trip. Don’t doubt to book your stay here."

"Overall, a great stay to explore nearby attractions. The interior has a nice mix of Chinese style and modern features. The room and bathroom are spacious and well-equipped—with a heated toilet seat, disposable towels, and air-conditioning. You can relax in the public area with a pot of tea. Breakfast is simple but tasty. I enjoyed their local noodles, bread and fruit tea. Just note that the dining area is a bit small.
The location is convenient, within walking distance to Baisha Old Town. On the way you will find a convenience store with fruit and grocery, local eateries, and a restaurant called 绿也 nearby. It seems a bit pricey for the average service, but good for afternoon tea and dessert after exploring the old town.
You can also take a short cab ride to 牧羊咖啡, a lovely café with a garden—great for relaxing while watching the snow mountains.
Besides u can find interesting cafes, western bakery,
Wine store, soaps, ice-cream made from yunnan tea, and artistic decos in the old town."

Once in a while, we have the rare privilege of staying somewhere that exemplifies all that is good about travel. Nguluko is one such place.
As the photos suggest, the hotel is beautifully designed. It’s a zen-like, modern annex, connected to Liusan’s generational home. What a curious privilege it is, to be able to join her family around the home’s traditional Naxi courtyard for a bonfire dance, before retreating upstairs to a room of luxurious comforts, including an actual Dyson hairdryer and electronic toilet.
But more important is what the photos cannot capture. In an age of faceless travel, dominated by flavourless hotel chains and mass-produced group tours, it’s rare to be able to feel a connection with folks eager to share a little slice of their life with you. Whether it be a morning stroll around the old village, a sharing session on Naxi culture and Dongba script, or even the aforementioned bonfire dance (replete with lived-in details like the family’s aging hams dangling off the awnings), it harkens back to a more serendipitous style of travel that made me smile.
Even meals (all-inclusive!) are a chance to experience local culture. Locally foraged bracken and morels make an appearance, as do different varieties of liangfen, and Lijiang-style baba. There’s also the most moreish chicken hotpot — which I was going to drive out of the way to Luguzhen to try — but which she ended up serving for dinner on the second night. I’m quite obsessive when it comes to food, and yet everything I wanted to try here, except perhaps the rainbow trout and yak, were cooked up and served.
Some small things could be improved: many stairways lack railings for the mobility impaired, and the ‘October’ room has an odd bathroom design where the toilet cubicle barely has space to close when one is seated. But such issues pale in comparison to the overall experience. Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give it is that in a world filled with a million wonderful destinations, this is one place I would choose to return to.

This is an excellent place to stay for anyone looking to unwind and catch the sunrise.
It is approximately 15 minutes from the key sunrise (日照金山) viewing spots and about 30 minutes from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (玉龙雪山). The location offers a thoughtful balance of convenience and tranquillity.
Ride-hailing via DIDI is straightforward (there’s always a ride confirmed within a few seconds), and Baisha Ancient Town (白沙古镇) is less than a 10-minute walk away.
For those planning to visit Shuhe Ancient Town (束河古镇) and Lijiang Ancient City (丽江古城), they are about 15 minutes and 30 minutes away respectively. Yundu (云渡) is well-situated for both nature excursions and easy access to the surrounding towns.
The service is excellent—my room was consistently cleaned while I was at breakfast—and other meals (lunch/dinner) can be ordered from the kitchen at very reasonable prices.
One of the highlights of my stay, however, was returning each day to their seven-month-old Samoyed, who is friendly and playful whenever he is not entertaining other guests. I initially planned to stay four nights but extended to seven because of the cosy atmosphere, convenient location, and daily playtime with Sanjin (三斤).
You can also ask the front desk or message them on WeChat anytime—everyone there is so friendly and helpful. One day, they even surprised me with a bun from Henan, which was such a sweet touch.

We stayed in Stone Lodge for 3 nights in the middle of December.
Let us talk about the good things first.
1. Snow Mountain View rooms can see 日照金山from bed.
2. Location is good for going to snow mountain. It takes around 20min to reach visitor centre of snow mountain.
3. Service is very good. U can ask for anything and they will provide for example bubble wrap to pack our fragile shopping. There’s also free laundry service.
4. Good for those who like the activities included in the room package. We did the Naxi home visit, horse riding and art and craft diy and enjoyed them very much. We like the afternoon tea provided too. And we can have coffee and fruits as much as we want.
Now some points to note.
1. Room is a bit small for 3 of us. The toilet is like a shower cubicle that opens into the room. We only discovered the ventilation switch im the middle of the stay and was wondering why the cubicle is so stuffy, not to mention the smell. With the ventilation on, the problems are solved. The shower cubicle is opposite with the sink in between them. All open into the room with no partition around the bathroom area. The walls of the toilet and shower cubicles are frosted glass and is acceptable for me and my daughters, all ladies.
2. The village is very small. Not much to see. We went to a cafe popular on internet that can take photo on the roof with the snow mountain in the background. The drinks are ok but the pasta is not nice. Maybe that’s why this restaurant is not in the recommended list of the hotel. We did not explore the village much but from what I see, it’s just 1 short street.
3. Ask for a 3rd floor room. It has a sky roof over the bed and we can see stars when we turn off all the lights in the room.
Overall, we did not regret our decision to stay here in the Stone Lodge. If the activities were not included in the package, we would not have experienced them at all.

Have a very pleasant stay here for 2 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained with all the amenities provided. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They even provided us free laundry service which is hardly find in other hotel. Furthermore, they gave us tea as complementary gift before we check out too 😊 Hotel provided free breakfast and tea session and hot milk at night too. Free transport to 白沙古镇 is available as well as free pickup/drop off to airport.
The location is very convenient if you were travelling to 玉龙雪山 which is less than 30 minutes drive. The environment was quiet and suitable for good rest after a long day of travel.
I would definitely recommend it to travelers and would consider staying here again on my next visit.

We had an amazing stay at Pauline. Definitely a top choice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Lijiang. It’s located in Yuhu village that is quieter and smaller but the surrounding is super peaceful and chill. We loved the view from our room where we can see the courtyard as well as the snow mountain. Our room in Pauline is super beautiful and comfortable and we wished we stayed longer than two nights. The staff in Pauline are also very helpful and friendly to us, making sure that we know where to go and are well taken care of. Breakfast in the hotel is also very good, and it was served in their very beautiful and comfortable cafe area. The cats are also very cute. Highly recommend for people who wants to have a quiet getaway but still close enough to the tourist sites.

Probablement le meilleur endroit où j'ai logé dans tout Lijiang, mon seul regret est de n'y avoir séjourné que deux nuits. Il n'y a absolument rien à redire (si ce n'est l'isolation sonore, mais bon, des voisins bruyants et mal élevés en Chine c'est monnaie courante). J'ai logé dans de moins bon guesthouses pour un prix supérieur.

This hotel is an absolute gem! From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel right at home—everyone treats you like a friend, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. The views are unforgettable—you can see Yulong Mountain right from the room, which makes every morning feel magical. The food throughout our stay was delicious as well.
What really sets this hotel apart are the activities they offer: kayaking, horseback riding, mushroom picking, pine cone DIY crafts, bonfire parties, and more. It’s not just a stay, but a whole experience filled with fun and culture.
Highly recommend for anyone visiting Lijiang and YuLongo—you’ll leave with wonderful memories!

The cabin itself is stunning: sleek, warm, and thoughtfully designed. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the mountain like a living painting. Everything felt new, clean, and incredibly cozy. But honestly? The real beauty of this place wasn't in the interiors or the view, it was in the people.
The hospitality we received was unlike anything I've ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, we weren't treated like guests. We were treated like family. The hosts were so genuinely warm, so deeply caring, that I kept asking myself: are all Yunnan people this kind?
The sweetest moment came every morning at breakfast. A lovely grandmother from the kitchen would appear with a bowl of her homemade noodles, the most delicious, soul-warming noodles I've ever tasted. She didn't speak much, but her smile said everything. You could feel that she made them with love, just for us. It reminded me of breakfast at my own grandmother's house.
They checked on us without being intrusive, made sure we had everything we needed, and every small gesture came straight from the heart.
I came in with no expectations about Yunnan's people. I left with a deep belief that the people here have some of the warmest hearts I've ever known. Staying here didn't just give us a beautiful cabin with a mountain view, it gave us a memory of human warmth that will stay with us for a very long time.

I rarely write reviews for hotels, but I really loved their service. So far, this is the hotel that offers the best service. A staff member explained all the attractions and food options in Baisha Village in detail. They provide afternoon tea, evening snacks, and breakfast—all included in the hotel fees. They also offer other services like candle making and baking classes. Unfortunately, due to my packed schedule, I didn’t get to register for those classes. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay and the top-notch service provided.
