"This was one of the best experiences we have had in Australia. We finally found a resort that values its customers and provides what you expect from a five star luxury hotel. "After making payment, I travelled hours down to the hotel, to be told there was no room available. Error in booking date (my fault allegedly) left me without a room and payment already made forfeited. Apparently I had booked it for the night before. I will note that my case notes and 'other requests' were clear in the booking that I was arriving early during the day as I asked for earlier check in (I booked it at night late in the day where early check in would not apply) and it was obvious I had not intended to book it for the previous night. The hotel also never called me to ask where I was or why I had not attended on that night as a courtesy which would have alerted me to the error. The front desk was dismissive of my requests that there was an error and to transfery.booking to today (they had rooms available) and would not even let me speak to management about it as they were too busy and I feel the reception had trouble understanding my english. I found their customer service very poor and not understanding as I had previously stayed at the property and they showed a lack of goodwill for my.circumstances. So I ended up having to travel back home without accommodation. This made me realise that you learn a lot about a hotels customer service when things don't go right and on this occasion I was very disappointed as it was obvious an honest mistake had been made and they showed a complete lack of understanding and wanted me to pay again which I would not on principle. Trip.com tried to assist and I thank them for that."

"Disappointing Stay for a Special Occasion – Expected More from a 5-Star Hotel Stayed 4 nights with my daughter for her surprise birthday staycation. Upgraded to a Harbour Bridge View room on Level 23 ($715/night), but the view was mostly of a vacant construction site – very underwhelming for the price. Noisy interconnecting room and loud sports cars between 12–2am made it hard to sleep. Breakfast ($65pp) was below expectations – dried sausages and barely cooked bacon, though staff were lovely. Room service on our last night took nearly an hour – ordered at 7:38pm, food arrived at 8:30pm. As a solo mum, this was a trip we had saved up for a long time and wanted it to be truly special, but we were left feeling disappointed. Expected more from a 5-star hotel. The positive highlights of our stay was the lovely big bath and high-quality shower amenities, which added a touch of luxury. Fantastic location and beautiful walk along the waterfront!! For the price we paid, the view fell far short of what you'd expect from a luxury hotel. In hindsight, the lower rate Deluxe King Room overlooking the water would have been a much better choice!  -"

"Location of hotel is good. Check in staff Claudia very friendly and helpful. Restaurant on 1/f food and atmosphere are good !staff Alice is cheerful and friendly. We had a lovely times in Sydney"

"The hotel is new and modern. Although it is small, we can still lay out two big suitcases. The location is okay, with a nearby train station, multiple bus stops, and the Westfield shopping mall. The staff are nice, and it’s good to have a refill water station on every floor. However, the cleaning service is only provided on the fourth day of the stay, which is too long. You can request them to empty the trash bins and change towels every day, though."

"The location of Great Southern Hotel is very centrally located, it is 1 min walk to the Haymarket Tram Stop which takes you directly to Circulr Quay where most of the tourist attractions are. Apart from the amazing location, the staff were all very friendly, professional and accomodating, even providing us early check in and late checkout. The room itself is slightly dated but extremely clean so we had no issues with it at all. The elevators are surprisingly modern and fast for an older hotel which was great. We did not find any issues with the lack of housekeeping as we were aware of what we paid for. We were able to get additional change of towels, toiletries, trash bags etc. from the front desk with no issues at all. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for it is amazing value for the price."

"Paradox Hotel Sydney exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The location is excellent—very central and convenient for exploring the city. The staff were professional, attentive, and consistently helpful throughout our stay. The room was spotless, well maintained, and housekeeping was timely and efficient. Overall, it was a very comfortable and pleasant experience. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Sydney."

"Hotel Hacienda Redfern is perfect for an action-packed city break if you won’t be spending much time in your room. Although the room is quite small, it’s clean and comfortable, and the soundproofing does a decent job. However, travelers sensitive to noise should note that the nearby railway can be a bit disruptive. The location is excellent, with easy access to Redfern’s lively bar scene, and it’s only a short stroll or bike ride to both Central and Redfern stations."
