During our planned 3-day, 2-night hike at Tiger Leaping Gorge (TLG), we chose to stay at Qifengshan Homestay (奇峰山民宿) based on the many positive reviews—and it turned out to be an excellent decision. Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that instantly reassured us we had picked the right place. Our room was spacious enough for the three of us, and the balcony offered a breathtaking view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain—truly a view to die for. While the room had no TV and the heating air-conditioning was quite weak, the heated mattress made up for it and ensured we still had a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom was equipped with a heating lamp and the water pressure was surprisingly good, especially considering the mountain location. The lady boss and her family were incredibly accommodating. They even invited us to their wood-fire heated room for dinner since the main dining area had no heating. As it was the beginning of winter and the off-peak season, some dishes we wanted weren’t available, but the home-cooked meals were delicious and very satisfying. Not forgetting fresh fruits and walnuts from their own garden! If you’re looking for a quiet, cosy, nature-filled accommodation for your TLG adventure, this homestay is highly worth considering. Its location is right along the hiking route, and there is even an open field nearby that’s perfect for flying a drone. The host offer you drive you to halfway Guest house which is merely 3mins drive away. The lady boss even helped recommend a reliable driver to drive us from Lijiang to her guesthouse (reasonable cost).

Found out from owner’s mum that it is newly opened. The room is spacious and could see that the amenities and furnishing are of good quality and tasteful. The heated flooring, humidifier, heating in the bathroom and oxygen machine were thoughtful especially for us who were new to the high altitude environment. Had complimentary transport from the train station and to the airport too. The mixian cooked upon order and self-service side dishes (stir-fried vegetables, steamed corn, sweet potato, dumpling, seasoning etc) were prepared by the owner’s mum. The free flow brown sugar ginger tea was really good especially in the cold weather. The owner’s mum was kind and friendly, and constantly reminded to stay warm and hydrated to prevent altitude sickness. Had taken up the Tusi feast through the hotel and had complimentary transport to and fro the restaurant by the hotel, and we managed to see the famous “Song Hye Kyo” at the Tusi feast! Great view of the Guishan Park from the rooftop too. There is an elevator but do note that there is one flight of stairs to climb to get to the rooftop.

Our three-day journey through Shangri-La became truly unforgettable thanks to our stay at Qingyu·Jianshan Guipu Manor. It was far more than a place to sleep—it felt like a comforting home tucked away in a breathtaking, remote landscape. What stood out most was the genuine care shown by our host, Xiao Ge Ge. From picking us up at the railway station to checking in on us throughout our stay, his kindness never wavered. The moment that touched us most came when two members of our group fell ill due to the dramatic temperature changes. When we asked about the nearest pharmacy, he immediately searched the front desk and handed us medication. That simple, thoughtful gesture eased our worries instantly. It felt like being cared for by family, even though we were far from home. The manor’s location is perfect for anyone seeking an immersive Shangri-La experience. Just a short walk away lies a beautiful open field where horses roam freely beneath vibrant, fluttering prayer flags. The sunset photos we captured there were magical. The quiet surroundings, away from the busier parts of town, offered exactly the serenity we were hoping for. One thing to be mindful of is the sharp temperature drop between afternoon and evening. While the afternoons were sunny and pleasantly warm, mornings and nights were surprisingly cold. Layered clothing is essential. We suspect our own bout of sickness came from underestimating this chill. Adding to the charm were the manor’s friendly residents—a dog and a lamb. They greeted us every time we returned, bringing a cheerful, homely vibe that made the place feel even more welcoming. Shangri-La Qingyu·Jianshan Guipu Manor offers more than accommodation—it delivers an experience steeped in ******* warmth, natural beauty, and heartfelt hospitality. Xiao Ge Ge’s attentive care during our moment of need turned what could have been a stressful setback into a memory of genuine human kindness. A Rustic Paradise with 100/10 Service! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our only regret about staying at this homestay is that we only booked for one night, we truly wish we could have stayed much longer! From start to finish, this was a 10/10 experience defined by genuine kindness and a stunning ”rustic farm” atmosphere. The service is beyond exceptional! A massive shoutout to Xiao Gong, who was incredible from the very beginning. She coordinated with us via WeChat long before we even arrived, constantly checking in to ensure we were okay. Her English is excellent, and she went above and beyond to accommodate every single request with a smile. We also want to give a special thank you to Ting Zeng, Gong Fu Yan, Ba Song, and Da Dong. This team is charming, professional, and extremely attentive. They handled our bags, guided us through the local customs, and their constant smiles made us feel so welcome. They truly give their all to ensure guests are happy. We were also thrilled to be upgraded to a room with an even more spectacular view! The attention to detail is impressive: The bed was perfect, and the heated floors were a lifesaver. They provide oxygen supplies, high-quality towels, humidifier, mini fridge, hair dryers, and full toiletry kits. The staff also took the time and extra mile to explain how to use all the equipment in detail, which was so helpful. Overall, the property itself is a dream, a beautiful farm courtyard filled with horses, sheep, and yaks. It feels authentic and peaceful. On top of the gorgeous setting, the complimentary services were the cherry on top: Professional photography / Traditional tea sessions and afternoon coffee / A delicious breakfast & A thoughtful goodbye goody bag! This place has heart and soul. If you are visiting Shangri-La, do yourself a favor and book more than two days here. We will definitely be back! Cleanliness is pretty decent, but don’t expect the cleanliness of a 5* hotel. Bathroom shower walls are slightly moldy at the corners and edges, so if you’re a fussy traveler this may be a 3 or 4 rating. Depending on your requirements, this location can bea 5/5 or a 2/5. This is located far from Dukezong Ancient Town, and far from other restaurants. Scenery is great and quiet from the hustle and bustle , hence the potential 5/5 rating. But since it’s far from other places, food options and “shopping” are limited, hence the 2/5. The room we booked was quite far away from the lobby. It’s the furthest house located. Service is a 5/5. You’ll get full help with your butler carrying your luggage from your car arrival, all the way to your room, and from your room to the lobby when you checkout. Any issue? Just simply WeChat the group chat dedicated for your booking. You get free breakfast 2 choices. 1 porridge set with many side dishes. Or noodle soup. You get free afternoon tea with various choices (coconut latte was good) and a free ice cream cake. At night 8.30 onwards you get dessert soup which was great too. The afternoon tea and dessert soup can be delivered to your room. Not sure about breakfast, as we came out to the cafeteria to eat. Amenities are wonderful, 5/5. Don’t expect a swimming pool or gym here, but you’ll have activities for you to enjoy here without stepping out of the area. A small pool table near the lobby (albeit crapping conditions of the balls). Free sliced carrots provided to feed the farm animals (ducks, swans, goats, pony, donkey), but no feeding of carrots to the 3 doggies!! You also get to dress up in the traditional costume and get free photo shoot with 3 unedited photos for free (per room). If you want the edited photos, do expect to pay a sum (way more expensive than other market rates you can find outside) for it. The room has floor warmer and bed warmer which was great for the cold weather we experienced in end March. It was 0-10 degrees. The toilet was cold. The heating in toilet does not seem to work. So you have to brace the cold and take your shower. But the bed, floor and room was really warm. Hotel also have a restaurant which you can order food for lunch and dinner. But it’s a little on the pricey side. It would be better to ******* and order food delivery. But their restaurant food is surprisingly tasty. So if you don’t mind the price, can order from them. About 180 yuan for 1 meat and 1 vege dish. Overall experience was great. Love the service. If you want a chill time and not travel out to shopping areas, this is a great hotel for you to book. You get the enjoy the “pet farm” life and the nature.

Our stay here made our first visit to Shangri-La truly memorable! As the weather is really cold, the room (equipped with heated floor, humidifier, and a very comfy bed!) kept our bodies warm. In the morning, you get to wake up to an amazing view of nature. The little furry families made up of a mother cat and her adorable 3 kittens, plus a cute young Westie 酥油, brought so much delight to our stay. The team is lean but extremely hospitable, welcoming, and kind. She always made sure we had piping hot food, and her bubbliness brightened our mornings. The ingredients used were of good quality, as with everything else in our room. As we didn’t manage to hail Didi during this period, the owner/host, a local, drove us to the different places of interest we wanted to visit (at a fair rate!). He was resourceful in helping us get the best deals and avoid tourist traps. As a local, he was knowledgeable about Shangri-La and the Zangzu culture, and shared many interesting facts. He’s also a singer and humorous, so the car rides were enjoyable. The place was beyond expectations! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful home-away-from-home retreat, the warmth of the place really kept our body and soul warm!

Enjoy my stay at Shangrila Skyland tent, wonderful view surrounded by natural and animal in the farm, the chalet is near to the famous cafe Heidou. Easy to get Didi although is far away from the city. Breakfast was good and there is restaurant you can order for lunch / dinner. The hotel also provide pick up/ drop off at train station. If you plan to stay in the room during the day there will be disturbance from the cafe visitors. Cafe visitors will take pic infront of your chalet, talking and shouting, less privacy during the day, however if you have full itinerary, go out in morning return night shouldn’t be any concerns. Overall still enjoyable stay

這次是第二次入住了 來香格里拉旅行的第一首先，房間有地暖，來香格里拉就不用怕冷了，還有投影，躺在沙發 床上追劇，超舒服的體驗吖，酒店服務熱情，衞生乾淨整潔，房間温馨寬敞，客房清潔人員也很親切，前台卓瑪也很熱情，房間的價格也很實惠，性價比高！得到的不止一次舒適愉悦的入住體驗，還有人間煙火，這是我對這家酒店的評價。

We had a very pleasant stay overall. The room was exactly as described: very clean, surprisingly large, and the floor heating in the main area was a welcome feature. The location is truly excellent—easy to find, a short distance from the ancient city, and incredibly convenient for taxis. Having a supermarket right downstairs and access to fantastic local restaurants was a huge plus. The only area for improvement is the bathroom temperature. As there is no heating element, it became quite cold during the night, which was a bit uncomfortable. Despite this, we would happily return for the great value and ideal location.
