"Comfortable room, a good size with blackout curtains. The hotel is an easy walking distance from the train station no matter how much luggage you have. Free laundry facilities. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, happy to answer questions and assist with bookings and locating various services around town.
The only negative is breakfast. Both days I was there one or more of the bread products were stale. Paper cups are provided for cold drinks (which seems needlessly wasteful) the one morning I tried, the orange juice was flavorless and watered down- it tasted like when you refill a juice bottle with water. The shape of the seating area is also unfortunate. There are two corners where people seem to appear out of nowhere and both days I encountered numerous children running and who absolutely should not have been allowed to bring their scooters in to the breakfast area (not the mobility kind) making carrying hot drinks and plates of food dangerous and unpleasant. Definitely recommended, just skip breakfast!"

"Amazing hotel! Wasn’t sure what to expect, but its location is so close to the national park, and there’s a lot of little shops and restaurants around in the area. It’s better to stay here than in the city of Zhangye. Though the staff and I could not communicate verbally, the translation apps were perfectly fine and everyone at the hotel was very kind. The hotel went above expectation in accommodating us, and the breakfast had a large variety of food as well. Would definitely recommend!"

"The room was nice, modern and clean. Staffs are helpful and have good service-mind.
Location is great, right next to the drum tower. There are a lot of shops nearby, a food street is in walking distance, the Big Buddha Temple (Dafosi) is also walkable.
There is also a free coffee machine at the lobby. Breakfast was also good.
A little down side, the shower area has a lot of small flies, which we don’t know where they came from, but didn’t cause much annoyances.
Despite some downsides above, we will stay at to this hotel again if we come back to Zhangye."

"It is a new hotel just opposite Zhangye West hsr station. The room is big and clean with good amenities provided. Hotel breakfast was decent. It's got beef noodles and dumplings on alternate day. The DIY laundry room provides only 3 washers & 3 dryers whereby 1 dryer was out of service. It's pretty a long wait on my days of stay. Fruits and yogurts were sent up to the room everyday, which was very thoughtful."

"Hotel located not far from Zhangye south station. There are restaurants and shops in a walking distance. Check in was ok. Room is rather big but bathroom and toilet were not so clean. Most importance the wet and dry area in the bath room is not seperated. make it difficult when using. mate did not clean our room well on the second day the we stay. no refrigirator."

"Just completed a wonderful three night stay at the Zhangye Holiday Inn. Perhaps most Silk Road tourists do not spend three nights in Zhangye but we wanted to visit both the popular and more “off the beaten path” historical sites nearby. This Holiday Inn is up to international standards - the staff was very professional, courteous and well trained, the rooms were modern and well-maintained, and even the buffet breakfast restaurant manager spoke English. This is probably one of the few (if not the only) more Westernized hotels in Zhangye) and we had a very good stay and experience in this hotel in Zhangye."

MMisafir KullanıcıHotel is very close and walking distance to the West entrance, which is less crowded and quiet than the East. The hotel is clean and the room is spacious. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Helped us with finding out the local bus schedule to Bingou and Kangle grassland and back to Zhangye and made sure we boarded the correct bus safely.
There are plenty of local food options along the main road as well.
Highly recommended to stay here for a Zhangye trip. Will definitely stay here when I return!

AAnonim KullanıcıOn baidu map, it says that from Zhangye railway station to the hotel is about 3 km but when actually navigating my way over while carrying a luggage, it was so much further than I'd expect because Zhnagye's road and traffic are quite chaotic. Many traffic lights aren't even in operation and there are quite a few (3 I think) t+junctions that pedestrian have to cross via the underpass. The cars doesn't quite obey the traffic lights, so be careful and cautious.
For the hotel itself, it's definitely one of my favorite overall, out of my 3 hotel stays during my trip. According to the receptionist I was offered a room upgrade, so thank you! There were also lots of free treats evertime I cleared it, so thank you again! Love especially the red dates yogurt, it's definitely a must try (although they were 2-3days after expiry). I even went out to the grocery to get more! Regarding the amenities, the air conditioner works but can't be controlled. Tried setting temp to 5 degree Celsius (lowest settings) and 30 degree celcius (highest setting), both doesn't work. It seems like it is fixed to room temp +/- a few degrees based on the temp outdoor. One of the day I had sunburn and wanted to cool off but due to how the temp was determined, I have no choice but to sweat it out. Other than that, the tap water here had very visible residue that you can tell that it isn't clear, so I really recommend not using it for drinking water boiled or not. Aon my last day, I wanted to try the bathtub but when I turned on the tap, I had a shock. The water that came out was brown, so I cancelled my initial plan of using it for relaxation 😕. There is also a humidifier provided and I am super grateful for that, however the water ran out on the 2nd day and I can't seem to fill it up correctly. The toilet bowl is also a smart toilet bowl, but I didn't realized it after closer inspection while trying to find how to flush. Lastly, I was so looking forward to the stars celling but it's kinda sad that you can't turn it on on its own without having the other lights turned on as well. Which honestly defeats the purpose of having a star gazing celling.

KKeng TWe stayed at the hotel in late 2025.3 Everything exceeded our expectations. When I book, it seems the location outside the city is a drawback of this hotel, which is compensated by a free pickup. But for a sightseeing trip in ZhangYe and with services the hotel has to offer, the location doesn't matter at all. Not to mention that the hotel's car+driver offer is quite competitive compared to what we have pre-booked. ###Room###: The room was spacious with comfortable beds and lots of amenities. WiFi speed is decent. There is also a public washing & drying machine, where the maid offered to wash our clothes. ###Restaurant###: The breakfast was plenty. The dinner offer a wide variety of local and standard dishes at an accpetable price. We got a free decent late night snack/dessert (with milk for children) delivered to the room at night. ###Staff###: The staff was very attentive. It started with the driver waiting at the train staion exit. Then we were greeted at the hotel by a staff with a good command of English. The staff has good knowledge of sightseeing spots in ZY. At dinner, the staffs made their best to help us understand the menu, patiently expained the food choices, as well as help estimate how much food we should order. (We are traveling with 2 children.) When we arrive back at the hotel in the evening, they enthusiasticly offered to help carry our stuffs. Tips are not expected nor accepted. If I have to comment, a moisturizing lotion and extra blankets in the room would help when the weather is cold. This hotel will definitely be my first choice if we ever come to Zhangye again.

MMisafir KullanıcıGreat hostel and great excursions. Spacious and clean rooms but toilets could be more clean (personnel was always trying to keep it clean so I think it was because of other guests). You can use the fridge and microwave for free, to that was a plus :). The staff were always available if we needed anything and always tried to help. They give you great local recommendations for food.
I would come back for sure!

MMisafir KullanıcıAs always I'll rate the hotel I stayed at relative to the cost incurred. So is it value for money?
Location : The location could not be bettered. It is the closest hotel to the Mati Grottoes. Maybe a 500m walk away.
Service : Very good, very friendly ! Welcoming and efficient on arrival. Took food orders for delivery at lunch and dinner (which helped a lot as in Winter all the restaurants in the village were closed)! And also helped me buy snacks in the afternoon (as the usual stores in the village were closed during Winter).
Bedroom : Basic however with 2 beds (comfortable and clean) and a I really liked the sunny alcove with two seats and a table, to sit and drink tea/coffee (bring your own!).
Bathroom : small but most importantly hot water and plenty of it ! The toilet is Western style not a squat (phew - good for my old knees!)
Breakfast : was provided but as I don't often eat breakfast I can't comment further.
You shouldn't expect a 5 star hotel, it's a basic Chinese hotel so don't get expectations up, however it is great value for money, clean and has everything you'd need for a short stay. I would definitely stay here again !

The staff is helpful and friendly. The lobby provides guests with drinks, which is very considerate.
The breakfast is not worth it though. It cost RMB38 per head, but the food variety is rather limited. I had to go to 1/F for a cup of coffee because the restaurant at 10/F did not include any drinks. There is no AC in the restaurant as well, which made guests sweating.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe hotel is fine. The lady at the reception was very friendly. However, two things were negative, which is why I would not book it again. On each floor, there is (next to the elevator) a small flat bowl with a small amount of water and several fish in it. The animals do not survive long, and every morning there were dead fish in the bowls. Keeping the fish in this way is completely unnecessary.
I also noticed negatively that at breakfast, the chef (?) yelled at one of the older ladies who takes care of breakfast in front of everyone present. This should not happen either.
Overall, a good hotel with flaws.

JJessica MellicaUnfortunately my experience wasn't good. Hot water didn't work, it was only warm. I did it in the afternoon anyway but ny boyfriend waited untill 11pm.
Elettronic key of our room never worked. We always had to call someone to open our room.
About water problem they said there was an issue in all the hotel and they can fix it the next morning.
We could not find a standard queen bed room, they have queen room just very expensive and for cheaper price they have only twin rooms.
We paied a full amount for the night we staied but we didn't have full 100% service we should receive from the booking. They suggest us a refund to change hotel but it was so late and we are travelling with bicycles, after a ride of 150km we were too tired to move in another location during the dark at 10pm. We just needed a hot shower and a bed to sleep.
Finally we received a 100 cny caution back, and the next morning ladies at reception gave us 6 small bottle of water to apologize.
I'm really upset about nobody advise us about water issue during check in, so there was still time to move in another accomodation, especially for elettronic key, I can't understand why it's never worked. Be carefull for next booking about rooms at 5th level. I don't know if it's a problem only for foreign people or for everyone. Room price list are very expensive so, I think they have not a bad service.
Unfortunately it's the first time during my 32 years happened this, especially during my 27 days in China, all the issue where always well reserved. This time my experience was really stressful, I don't feel like to recommended it and I hope never happen again to other travelers.
