"Room is quite big and comfortable, beautiful lobby. The room had double-layered curtains with sheer drapes, which was a very thoughtful touch. Even when the morning sunlight was bright, it didn’t feel harsh. The only pity was that we didn’t get to try the hotel breakfast this time—hopefully, we can enjoy it on my next visit. It’s a hotel that makes me want to come back again~"

"Hotel is located right in the JR Station building so it was super convenient. There’s plenty of shops and restaurants in the same building as well. Checking in was fast and simple. Room was okay but only 1 pillow per person was provided. The hotel front desk gently rejected to give extra drinking water when we requested. The city view from our room was very nice. For a no-frills stay, this hotel is still great though."

"Nice modern business hotel convenient located close to Sendai Station with a starbucks and convenient store located on the ground floor. The hotel is also within 1 min walk to the Sendai Morning Market where there is nice ramen. I stayed here for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very clean and modern."

"We're able to store bags before checking in. Check in was at 14:00 which is earlier than average for Japanese business type hotel, handy after an early flight. 2 free bottles of water given daily. Room was a little larger than average but if course still small. Room was modern feeling with everything we needed. It was quiet on the 10th floor at the end of the corridor. Slept well. Can access JR and subway via underground passage at Exit West 1 - good if raining. Loads of cafes and shops on doorstep."

"Would definitely stay here again after spending 4 nights here. Seems to be a new hotel in a good location in Sendai. It’s less than a ten minute walk from Sendai Station, it’s located even closer to the Subway, just 1 block from shopping arcade, and a few blocks from the Asaiichi market. Hotel room was very spacious for 3 including a 1 year old. Our room was on the 11th floor with a view of the next buildings rooftop. The lights are controlled with a touch screen. Wifi seemed to work well. Good luggage and jacket storage at the entry way. Lots of free amenities in the lobby and you can get 2 bottle of water per day. We did not have breakfast during our stay but the lounge is open from ~2pm to ~9pm and there’s a Starbucks coffee/latte machine. You may also purchase a glass of sake for ¥500 from a machine. The second floor has pay laundry machines, microwave, ice machine, and vending machines. Hotel staff was helpful. They can arrange your luggage to be sent to your next destination. I don’t think there is any added service charge. I had opted for no cleaning when booking to save a little but they still cleaned the room daily. My only complaint is when I asked for a new key because i lost one, the receptionist gave some attitude and said that I should look in my room for it after issuing another key."

"Hotel Monterey is centrally located just outside the Sendai Station and is easily seen after you exit the station. The staff was very courteous and helpful at the time of check in. Language could be an issue but is easily manageable. I was offered a single room in a lower floor and on my request for a room on the higher floor, without any hesitation I was allotted a double room on the higher floor. The ambience of the restaurant for breakfast was great and the variety of food served catered to Japanese and western. The breakfast was delicious. I had to extend my stay and this was also done seamlessly without any issues. Overall a great hotel centrally located with plenty of shopping around. If I come to Sendai again, I will return to Hotel Monterey if I visit Sendai again."

"The hotel is very clean and tidy, the layout of the room is very comfortable. Not very close to the JR station but it is expected but the hotel is surrounded by alot of restaurants and shops. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, they give me some tips of about Sakura photo shooting, one of them can speak fluent Mandarin. I like the bathroom alot, very spacious. I look forward to stay in this hotel again."
