"A beautiful guesthouse, the rooms are beautiful too. Bed is big and comfy, very clean and the bathroom is modern despite how traditional the building is. Also has great heating if desired. The family that runs the guesthouse is so so sweet. Their food is also delicious and a great option for a quick breakfast (the buns are to die for). Excellent location. All in all would definitely come back and recommend this place."

"This was my third visit to Pingyao, and the hotel's location was perfectly within my expected target – very close to the City God Temple, Confucius Temple, and South Street. Traveling with kids, my first choice is always a kang-bed room within the ancient city. When booking, I only focused on the size of the kang and overlooked the room's overall area. After checking in, I realized the room was a bit cramped with two kids and luggage. The next day, seeing other guests check out, I decisively upgraded the room, which significantly improved the kids' activity space. The owner was very welcoming; I contacted him in advance when we were close, and he waited for us in the parking lot. He was just as enthusiastic in dropping us back at the parking lot when we left. This guesthouse is a renovated old residence, making it easier for the kids to better understand and experience the glory of Jin Merchants."

"The hotel's design is lovely, with an ancient and charming architectural style. They offer a complimentary shuttle service, so you don't have to carry your own luggage, which is very convenient. The room environment is great, a two-story duplex with two bathrooms. The service attitude is excellent, and the breakfast is rich with a wide variety of dishes. The food street is just a ten-minute walk away. Overall, it's a five-star experience!"
Pingyao Cheng‘s Courtyard
"The location is right by the ancient city gate. You can park your car directly at the gate and walk in. This homestay is very thoughtful; they helped us book discounted tickets for 'Another Pingyao' in advance, and during our stay, they assisted with calling taxis, booking restaurants, and arranging a tour guide. When an elder accidentally fell in the room, the landlady even bought spray and plasters for them. The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast had a good variety and was delicious; they were also flexible with adding or removing items, and there was a sweet soup every day. The only minor complaint might be that the pillows were a bit too firm..."
Xihe Academy Mansion
"When I went to Pingyao, I specifically chose to stay at the Xihe Academy Residence within the ancient city. The academy's location is excellent; all the attractions in the ancient city are within a 10 to 20-minute walk, which is incredibly convenient. We could even return to our room for a nap in the afternoon. We booked a room with a 'kang' (heated brick bed), and it was a really interesting experience to try out the northern style of sleeping on a heated bed. I have to especially commend their incredibly attentive service. Their service model started right from our arrival at the high-speed train station: a business car picked us up and took us to the academy, where they provided guidance on dining and sightseeing. When we left, they again provided transport back to the high-speed train station, and even gave us a local specialty as a farewell gift. I highly recommend Xihe Academy Residence."

"The B&B's location is close to South Street, making it convenient for sightseeing and dining. The environment is lovely and peaceful. What truly stood out was the housekeeper's thoughtful and warm service; any issues we had were promptly resolved. They even provided pick-up and drop-off service upon check-in and check-out. It's definitely a recommended B&B for anyone visiting Pingyao Ancient City."

"The family who runs the accomodation are very nice and helpful. I asked them to help me to rent a e-bike for the day and immediately they where finding me a solution. They are very responsive and kind. TIP TO FIND THE PLACE: you should look well for the number 4 is placed directly at the front door Room was small but nice and cozy, for a solo traveler totally fine. You should know the mattress is not a western mattress, is harder. I really like it and I rested beautifully but if you are really into soft stuff you will need to adapt. Location is nice, 10-15 min walk to the exit gate. Just for you to know, if you travel to the city in August is going to be very very very busy, and many people inside the inner walls. That means to exit the walls from the hotel is going to be a hard slalom in between people for many minutes. I guess the rest of the year is way calmer. I recommend the place"

DAYIN HOTEL
"Great location, quiet neighborhood but not far from the center. The room is clean , comfortable and has the atmosphere of an old traditional home. It is the service that needs significant improvement to warrant the current four star rating. The price was for two people and yet, there was one tea bag per person, a very small roll of toilet paper and the facial tissue bixes were almost empty. The breakfast was no better: ine boiled egg, a small bun, a bowl of sweet porridge and a tiny slice (about one tenth) of a sweet potato and a root vegetable, with a tiny portion of pickled cabbage. For a mainland B&B well below standard. What’s more, the old nan who was on duty in the morning would pick up dirt from the floor while handling food with bare hands and had trouble finding toilet paper in the storage room while I waited outside in freezing weather. The host is friendly and helped with orientation and organizing transfers to the railway station, so with little improvement in service this could be a good choice for Pingyao."

"The guesthouse is located inside the ancient city. I chose it because it was close to the "Encounter Pingyao" show and was newly opened. Entering the courtyard felt festive, a blend of classic and modern styles with local character. The room's decor was my favorite; the projector TV was great, and the room was warm with underfloor heating and complete facilities. The owner's service was especially impressive; they were very welcoming and always greeted us with a smile. The automatic toilet and voice-activated makeup mirror were a huge plus for makeup lovers. The zero-pressure mattress helped me fall asleep quickly. The owner mentioned cleaning the room themselves, which explained its spotless condition. They recommended good restaurants with discounts and even bought our "Encounter Pingyao" tickets – a big thumbs up! Before we left, they even helped us with our luggage to the parking lot, which was free! A truly worthwhile trip! [Victory]"
