"This distinctive Jin merchant courtyard was a special experience we wanted for our child. Our room, with its small attic, surprisingly had three 1.8-meter beds including the downstairs one, which is perfect for family travel. The owners are really lovely; they helped us with our luggage at the entrance and gave us directions to avoid any pitfalls. They even gave us two bottles of vinegar when we left – absolutely fantastic! 👍"

"The hotel is well located in the Ancient city of Pingyao, close to the north entrance. People in the hotel were very helpful and kind. Someone from the hotel picked us up and that helped us a lot. For the next day, we visited the two Temples close to the ciry, which was absolutely amazing. Both temples conserve very old sculpures, unique and the arquitecture is original. It was a great experience. The hotel helped us with the organization of both vistis. I definately recommend to visit Pingyao and I recommend also the accommodation."

"After a long search for hotels in Pingyao, I chose Taotang because I wanted a place that offered the traditional experience of an old courtyard house while still being modern and comfortable. The room was spacious and very clean. Since the hotel has a limited number of rooms, the service was excellent and very attentive. The hotel arranges shuttle buggies for both arrival and departure from Pingyao Ancient City, and the staff helps with luggage. Breakfast is served for a long time in the morning, so you don't have to worry about missing it if you wake up late. It was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely come back if I have the chance."

"Yun Jin Cheng Residence is perfectly located on West Street, right in the heart of the ancient city, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. The courtyard, a beautifully preserved century-old merchant mansion, exudes an antique charm with its traditional blue brick courtyards and red lanterns, creating an amazing atmosphere that's perfect for photos. The butler service was attentive and thoughtful; they proactively contacted us about our itinerary before check-in and even upgraded us for free to a New Chinese-style courtyard suite. The room was very clean, the traditional kang (heated bed) was spacious and comfortable, and the modern amenities were complete. It offers a very comfortable living experience, blending ancient architecture with modern interiors. The breakfast selection was rich and included many local Pingyao specialties; the freshly shaved knife-cut noodles were springy and delicious. The highlight, however, was the manually ground coffee, which tasted excellent and was far superior to automatic coffee machines. The hotel also has its own vinegar shop where you can sample authentic Shanxi aged vinegar. The courtyard is quiet and peaceful, offering a wonderfully relaxing retreat after exploring the ancient city. Whether you're traveling with family or friends, this is an excellent choice for accommodation in Pingyao. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Pingyao, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!"
