"We were dubious about booking this room for our 4 night stay as a foreign family in Qingdao but to our surprise it was quite pleasant. We were upgraded to a three bedroom apartment instead of 2 bedroom, which wasn't necessary and it was unused but the sentiment was appreciated. The two bedrooms are just as pictured -very comfortable - absolutely perfect. The kitchen countertop is high so tall people like us felt comfortable using it. The fridge and washing machine were useful to have. The unit has 2 bathrooms and 1 toilet at the entrance (convenient for guests visiting). The views are great from the living room and main bedroom. 🚨The ONLY NEGATIVE was that the living room was NOT COMFORTABLE at all😱😖 and this was a huge problem for us, as 3 larger westerners - the sofa is extremely hard, narrow bum area, and 90° angle back, making it super uncomfortable to sit ! ☹️ I'd urge management to rectify this immediately! There was also not enough seating so we had to move the chair from the bedroom to the living room. We would have extended our stay by two or three extra days if the sofa was comfortable! We would have given 5 stars instead of 3 if the living room was comfortable for sitting and enjoying the view all day which is WHY we booked this place for my elderly parents and brother. If you have a TV box and cables I recommended you bring it with if you want to watch English TV (using a vpn of course) which we did (remember all cords and remote). The staff came daily to clean -they were so friendly and just amazing! By the way we did ask if we could change to a room with a more comfortable sofa, but they said all of their rooms have the same uncomfortable grey sofa 😖😵🫤 super disappointing. all that being said - the value for the view, service, cleanliness and location -it's extremely good! Thanks Haiyi! We will come again ONLY if you change the sofas! 😂👍🏼👌🏼😀🥳"

"We have visited Lalu a number of times over the past few years. On this recent visit we noticed a huge improvement to the service. We were assigned a personal manager named Lisa (5*) who kept in touch throughout the stay. She was very helpful, making sure everything was OK and very polite. The F&B manager was very attentive also. It is this kind of service that makes Lalu a world class hotel!!!!"

"I am writing as a traveller with a good experience in Yihai Garden hotel in Qingdao. I checked in first time with three nights for all visits in Qingdao and as planned left my two big luggages 29 inch at the hotel for storage. I went on in an adventurous mode to Yantai and Weihai for two nights. After I returned from Yantai, I met up with the receptionist Zheng Ao Ying （郑奥瑩） who helped me to arrange for re admission into the hotel. She did in a very timely and orderly manner and gave her the best she could. A big thank you to her and the hotel for such hospitality. I am writing to encourage more travellers to travel in a more adventurous manner to see more of the cities in Shandong. "It is the first time in the 7 years in China that I have received such excellent service and warm treatment at Le Meridien. Cindy and Luna and the young concierge know how to take care of guests. Cindy and Luna made arrangements for my wife who was arriving late without me saying a word. They also automatically gave us a room upgrade and welcomed up to Marriot Bonvoy rewards program. Connected with us on instant messaging for easy communication during our stay. Ms Liu slipped me some Latte vouchers. Breakfast was yummy. Le Meridien West Coast has every amenity. "Excellent location. Close to taidung street where you can shop for winter clothes at bargain price and a lot of eateries around. Also close to beer museum and a lot of famous attractions. Only downside are the tub a lil too small, breakfast not very nice and there is no proper place for taxi driver to stop."

"The hotel had an exclusive feel, with rooms located on the upper floors, offering great views. However, the check-in was on the 51st floor, while our room was on a lower level. This meant we had to change elevators every time we left or returned, which was a bit inconvenient—especially since we were traveling with an elderly family member. We were celebrating my grandmother's birthday, and the hotel made a lovely gesture by arranging balloons and a cake, which we really appreciated. On the downside, the bed in our room was stained when we arrived, but the staff responded quickly and changed it immediately upon request. Breakfast was somewhat limited, so we opted to dine at MGM instead. That said, the swimming facilities, steam room, and rain shower were standout features and added a nice touch to the overall experience."

"some of the common areas were a little shabby but the inside of the room was beautiful and the view was great. Getting to the nearby market was a bit of a walk but that is the only negative I have about my stay. The service was good and the breakfast was good as well."

"Overall the hotel staff and service are 4 star. What makes the hotel 5 Star are the rooms and facilities. It is clean, safe, and well maintained. To be fair, I did arrive in early April during the off-season but I was not impressed with the service provided. Staff was consistently difficult to find, or would be crowded all in the lobby. Check-In and Check out was easy and the staff are very nice. International guests be aware, few to no staff speak English or communicate in any other language. The breakfast was not good. Cold and hard food, empty plates, drinks and foods not being refilled, and then having the lights turned off after breakfast was finished being served. Few selections, mainly cheap foods and breads. There are no staff outside, during my time there. No bell hops, no one to guide you to the front desk (Because it is not easy to find at first), no one to help with your luggage. A single staff member stands at the front of the lobby after you enter to greet you. Positives - The room was spacious and very clean. It had most things I needed and the quality of the room and bathroom was excellent. The balcony looked over the courtyard and the ocean which people can see you if you go out but was a nice addition. The island the hotel is on has everything close by and most taxis/Didi’s will pick you up within five minute The area has been developing for many years and is getting better each year. The Qingdao Beer Festival ground are close by (about 30 minutes drive) during the summer, but most activities are in the city about one hour drive away for the rest of the year. For this hotel, the room and facilities are the focus as they are well taken care of and maintained. I am not sure if I would return."

"This was my second stay at the Holiday Inn, and once again, it was a wonderful experience. I initially booked a premier room, but to my surprise, I was upgraded to a lovely suite at check-in, which made my stay even more special. I was also offered a welcome drink of my choice - tea, coffee, a soft beverage, or even an alcoholic drink - which was a very nice touch. Susie at reception was especially helpful. She explained everything clearly in excellent English and made the check-in process smooth and welcoming. I absolutely loved my stay and will definitely be booking here again. Highly recommend!"
