"We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was very spacious and comfortable, with the toilet and shower separated, which was very convenient. The location is great—just a short Didi (cab) ride to Datong Ancient City.
The service was excellent. The reception staff were very helpful, assisting us with booking a one-day cab to visit the Hanging Temple and giving clear advice on how to get around the city.
There are also a few restaurants and convenience stores within a short walking distance, which made things easy. The hotel itself has a bar and a coffee area, adding to the overall convenience.
Overall, a very good experience."

"We are a couple from Sweden that has been backpacking around the world for two years and we usually travel a lot.
The stay was very nice!
Very comfy bed with great duna and linen. The shower was awesome! And the room is beautiful and newly renovated.
Try to get a room on a higher floor. The staff is really nice and helpful.
The airflow is not great because they put it on 25 degrees on the whole hotel, we complained a bit and finally the fixed it.

"首先説一下酒店的位置，是在進入古城的南面，沒有在大同古城裡。但是從酒店打車去雲崗石窟，我是早上9點半出行的，打了拼車沒有拼成，費用也才9塊9。
其次，酒店的房間和客廳是隔開的兩個區域，各有空調可分別調節温度，空調效果還是很好的。客廳有沙發和曲面屏電視，我在客廳邊研究攻略邊追了“灼灼韶華”，太開心了。但是衞生間不是乾濕分離的，而且熱水器是儲水式電加熱的，如果家庭出遊，要合理分配洗浴時間。飲水是有飲水器，這個蠻好的，不用燒水壺去燒水，心裏放心很多。
最後説一下吃。酒店是不提供早餐的，需要自己解決。酒店隔壁有家網紅店叫“吉里”，這個店很有特色，下午茶，咖啡，西餐，酒都有，價位略貴，但味道很好。
酒店整體服務態度是蠻好的，儘量會滿足住客的需求。相比民宿，空間會更大。

"It’s really really nice room, it’s really clean, and even there’s no windows in our room but we didn’t care much because it was very comfortable.
Thank you to the girls at the front desk who were so helpful and kind! They were very accommodating.
This was one of the most value-for-money hotels we’ve stayed in. Location is great too. Would recommend to friends! :) Thanks again!"

"A very good home stay/hotel that I highly recommend for anyone who travel to Datong. It’s at the entrance of the Datong Ancient City, very convenient to walk around for shops and restaurants. The hotel staffs and owner are very friendly to accommodate our needs. Lift is available and good for family with elderly. The pick up and drop off service to stations are the best!
There are some problems on the bed sizes when we checked in but the owner resolve in a friendly way. Highly recommended for a special stay!"

"Clean rooms, purified air systems, 12mins didi ride away from old city, with free DIY laundry service, and 7-9pm there is free dessert at lobby every night. You can request for free ice cream every time you walked past the lobby. And free fruits at lobby. Service is great! Just that there is a sewage smell in my room’s toilet, though my parents room that is one room away from mine have no problems at all. We arrived by high speed train from Beijing in the morning 1030am. The hotel allowed us to do early check in, awesome! This is a very value for money hotel, and totally exceeded my expectation even though this is by right only a local hotel chain. They have a gym too but I didn’t get to use it."

"8月初來到大同避暑度假，選擇了以前住過的這家酒店，主要是考慮靠近古城的酒店遊客太多，住宿休息吵鬧聲太亂，所以避開喧鬧選擇這家距離古城景區較遠的酒店入住。
設施：這家店專修風格與全季酒店類似，該有的設備設施都有，公共空間不大，但是很有藝術情調，酒店提供了地下停車場，這一點對於自駕遊旅途很友好，也是我選擇的主要因素。
衞生：與我以前住過的衞生水準有所退步，藉口可以説入住率高吧。自從入住到退房三天未見到過保潔員，客房礦泉水衹有2瓶，旅遊旺季800元的房價水卻少了，太不應該了。
服務：酒店除了前台接待服務，未見其它服務，酒店早餐自助品種太少了，旺季高房價也該適當增加一點，堂食衹有羊雜湯和刀削麪，品嚐了一下刀削麪，差評。
如今酒店業內卷嚴重，競爭廝殺激烈，該有的配套服務也該跟上了。
環境：酒店樓層電梯間光線太暗了，給人壓抑感，電梯艙樓層按鍵看不清數字，客人都在反映這個問題。還有機器人送餐不避讓客人，與客人搶電梯強硬進入電梯………"

"Lovely little hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The shower and toilet were separated which made it much easier for us. Room was clean and well heated against the super cold weather. Good location in the old city. If the weather is good, you can hang out at the roof balcony in the evenings with an amazing view of a pagoda."

MMisafir KullanıcıI can’t stop raving about this inn. It is a B&B style three stories tall inn located inside the Datong Ancient City. Complimentary shuttle service between the airport or railway station made it really convenient for out of town travelers. The guest room was clean and equipped with modern facilities like automatic toilets, coded entry, projection screens, etc. The inn is located near the north gate of the city amongst other accommodations. Within minutes of walking is access to the top of the city wall where bike rental is available to ride along the wall. The inn is very quiet at night. The inn is family operated and everyone was very hospitable. What sets this inn apart from other accommodations in the area is their dedication to service. The owner knew I was a tourist and new to the area, she offered to pick me up if I got lost wandering the ancient city. The breakfast came with my reservation. When the owner found out I had to depart before breakfast serving hours, she went above and beyond to prepare food and served me 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The food tasted amazing and came with abundant varieties and huge portions. It was definitely not part of the service to drop off at another venue, but the owner took me to my next accommodation 2km away. I truly appreciate everything this inn and its staff has done for me. I am so glad to have chosen to stay this beautiful little inn on my first night in Datong. I will definitely stay here again without a doubt on my next visit.

MMisafir KullanıcıNo words to describe the awesome and wonderful people from Renyi Inn. We arrived a bit too early and they checked us in directly, no questions asked.
They brought us cherry tomatoes and oranges as snacks. They even offered us a free upgrade to a bigger unused room, however we were outside most of out trip and declined.
But their hospitality goes beyond limits. Hands down one of the nicest inn I ever been too.
And they have 2 lovely pet 🦚 peacocks, how awesome is that.
Location is in Ancient town, close to everything, and the view is lovely

MMisafir KullanıcıAmazing start to our Shanxi visit - despite freezing subzero weather, our hearts are warmed by our most welcoming and beautiful Ms Zhang, who single-handedly took on and resolved all our issues, always with a smile and utmost efficiency and diligence; from picking us up at the train station, making us warm fresh longjing tea and fresh fruits every night breakfast preparation, recommending a driver (Ms Guo) to maximise our time in Datong, recommending the best local restaurants (Fengling Restaurant is our favourite), assisting us with our laundry, taking us to the bank to exchange money. There’s nothing she cannot do! Most importantly she is so attentive to my elderly parents, especially my mum who has mobility issue- Ms Zhang drove us to and from the city and we are very thankful for her very warm hospitality. She went out of her way to make our stay so comfortable and on the last night, took us on a drive around the ancient city to absorb the night scenery. My mum thinks this is one of the best hotel she has stayed in. Comfortable bedding and beautifully designed and well-fitted out with Smart technologies. Most highly recommended!

The staff was very friendly and helpful with us. Communication was easy before our arrival. They pick us by car at the railway station for free, which was very convenient for us! We asked them to arrange a car and a driver to go to Hanging Temple and to the Yungang Grottoes in the same day. Everything was perfect! It was the weekend of Qingming day and the Hanging Temple was very crowded and we could not book tickets in advance. Thanks to the hotel staff we managed to buy tickets and to visit the hanging temple ! Then they drove us to a typical restaurant of Datong and we had a very good lunch with noodles, and then we go to the grottoes. Thank you again to the hotel staff for this stay !! Highly recommended!

MMisafir KullanıcıWow, I loved this homestay! The lively and kind lady who runs Yishui homestay is a good English speaker and very patient, so foreigners as well as Chinese will feel at ease staying here. It is a very hospitable atmosphere!
Location is in the pedestrianized part of the old city, very near the Drum Tower. Therefore, there is lots to see/do/eat while walking nearby. But the location is also not far from the driving road, so it was an easy, short walk to meet my driver when going out to the hanging temple, the grottos, and the train station. The facility is an old-style courtyard home, with a beautiful wood-beam ceiling. The interior rooms are completely renovated and modernized, with great water pressure, all necessary toiletries, an excellent quality hair dryer, slippers, and super air-con/heating! (It was -3 one night during my stay, but I was warm and comfy in that room!) Clean towels are brought daily. Breakfast was included in my stay and I was very happy with the food. It is an ample Chinese-style breakfast, and you can inform the cook if there is some food you don't/can't eat. Although the breakfast was plenty of food for me, I saw a guest ask for more baozi, and he was kindly given 2 more. Fresh fruit was also offered for free several times during my stay.
Within a 5 minute radius (walking), there are many eating places for lunch, dinner, snacks, and tea/coffee. There are also numerous historical sites (dragon wall, temples, ”mansions”, the Catholic Church, etc.) in easy walking distance. In fact, there was so much to see nearby that I was not able to see everything! The homestay looks very charming, and many, many people were often seen stopping to take photos in front of the homestay, as well as on the back wall of the homestay, which is next to a Chinese Opera stage--it is especially lovely at night! It is a 10-15 minute walk to the ancient city wall, where you can climb up and enjoy the sights, or visit a (Chinese) bookstore within the city wall, under one of the arches.
My Beijing friends, who stayed at a nearby hotel, were equally impressed when they came to visit me in Yishui homestay, and they got the WeChat contact so that they can return to stay at Yishui homestay on a return trip--so easy to get there by fast train from Beijing!

The staff are very polite and courteous, and did allow us for an early check-in and a late check-out.
30 minutes drive to the Yungang Grotto, and about 90 minutes to the Hanging Temple (Xuankong Si).
5/5 recommend to anyone traveling to Datong.

YYang JianpingOur stay at Yunqi Xiangshe was a truly delightful experience. The hotel is newly built, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. From the moment we arrived, the owner welcomed us warmly, making us feel right at home.
The property offers private parking, which is very convenient, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the heart of the ancient city—an ideal location for exploring Datong. Each room is thoughtfully decorated, blending modern style with artistic touches that reflect the owner’s care and refined taste.
Each morning, we were treated to a beautifully prepared breakfast, along with complimentary coffee and tea throughout the day. It’s those small, thoughtful details that really elevate the experience.
In short, Yunqi Xiangshe is a perfect combination of comfort, style, and heartfelt hospitality. I would gladly recommend it to all my friends and look forward to returning again in the future
