Welcome to the Rusty Anchor located in Horseshoe Beach, FL. We hope your stay is enjoyable and relaxing. This condo sleeps 7 people comfortably with a large kitchen and open floor plan. Enjoy your coffee in the mornings on the balcony where you can see the Gulf of Mexico in the distance. You can enjoy swimming in the pool and if you get hungry you can grill out by the pool. When you pull up to the property you have a covered parking spot right underneath the condo. If you brought your boat, there are four boat ramps to launch from on the island. You can launch off of Main Street, the public boat ramp at the park, The Marina (temporarily closed due to Hurricane Irma) and the boat ramp at Egret Landing. The boat ramp at Egret Landing is a tidal ramp so depending on the tide you may or may not get your boat in and out. The other boat ramps are not tidal boat ramps. If you haven't experienced a breathtaking sunset, you can walk or ride to The Point at Horseshoe Beach for the most beautiful sunset. If you don't have a boat but are looking to go fishing you can fish from the land or the rocks at The Point. If you need live bait, be sure to visit Renee over at Florida Cracker Shrimp and Bait Co. on Main Street, they have the best bait in town. Please don't miss out on eating at The Shrimp Boat. They have great seafood and are located a couple blocks from the condo on Main Street. The Marina is where you can get your odds and end items you may have forgotten but since they are temporarily closed be sure to get all your groceries from Cross City located 19 miles from Horseshoe Beach. If you are looking for the closest Walmart, you can find it in Chiefland located 39 miles south on Hwy 19. If you are looking to explore what is around Horseshoe Beach, including some of our most famous springs please check out the following areas located within 60 miles of Horseshoe Beach. Hart Springs is located 39.8 miles away, Manatee Springs is located 45.1 miles away, and Ginnie Springs is located 55 miles away. If you want to go tubing down the river, you must visit Ichetucknee Springs State Park located 58 miles away near High Springs. While only a few minutes to Restaurants, Marinas the drive to Rocky Creek Getaway gives you a secluded place where your whole family can relax and enjoy the coastal life, count the stars at night and may even hear the song of the whippoorwill. This stilted home on the banks of the Rocky Creek, includes a bedroom with a king bed and one bedroom with a queen bed. The living room area has two large sofas where you can enjoy the flat screen TV over the fireplace. The kitchen and dining area has seating for four while the back screened porch allows for plenty of room to sit, eat and socialize and enjoy watching the creek rise and fall with the tides. On the open deck there is a gas grill and a hammock to enjoy the gulf breezes. The large yard has a firepit and a(AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO DOCK BUT BOAT RAMP IS OPEN ONLY .5 MILE) private dock to access the Gulf of Mexico in approximately 5 minutes. Bring your flats boats, pontoon, or jon boat, kayak, paddle board and access all the best fishing, scalloping and sightseeing that the Steinhatchee area has to offer. The driveway has room for all your vehicles, boat and recreational trailers. There is also a RV hook-up that can be added for an extra price so you can easily increase the size of the group. The property's water source is Florida coastal well water so you may would like to bring your own drinking water. Rocky Creek is a tidal creek and at low tide you have approx. 18" to 24" of water. Beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath home located on the historic Suwannee River. Get away from it all. Easy access to Fanning Springs (1.5 miles up river) and Manatee Springs (7 miles down river). Bring a boat, or two 2-person kayaks available for use. Great views from the deck and dock that overhangs the river. Very peaceful. Most people that know the Suwannee River feel that the home's location is fantastic, and the best of all the options. The river in this area is very large and grand, especially compared to up river where it can be quite narrow and crowded. It's size makes it great for skiing, tubing, and boating, and dealing with other boaters isn't really an issue. It is far enough up river (about 32 miles by boat) that you don't have the biting yellow flies of the coast, but close enough to boat down to the coast and back for fishing, or spending the day on your own private secluded island beach. The area has very little development as well, so you get the real sense of being in "old world" Florida. It truly is a unique, wonderful experience.Please note: cell service may be limited. We have wi-fi with Starlink which works pretty quickly. There is no cable TV, however, we do have ROKU's connected to both TV's. You are welcome to log into your streaming services, but, please be sure to log out when you leave the home so other guests can't use your services. This property is quite rustic and remote, and is a great way to get away from it all. However, there is limited access to cellular phone service. Easily sleeps 10.One of the more common questions we get is regarding docking a boat at the property. You have a few options with regards to keeping a boat on the Suwannee River (flow of the river and boat wakes are a problem). Approximately 1/2 mile down the road from our rental house is a public boat ramp which is not very busy, and easy to launch/retrieve your boat. That is the preferred method and would take less than 30 mins. Leaving the boat in the water with the current and other boaters creating wakes is possible, but not optimal. One option would be to tie the boat to the dock which is cantilevered over the river and anchor the aft section in the river (might require swimming to shore unless you are creative). This rental has everything you need for a family vacation, couples getaway, or fishing trip. The gulf is a short distance via the canal (tidal, this means on low tide there is no water) beside the house. There is a fish cleaning station with water, outdoor shower, tiki bar with small fridge (our favorite spot), space for one car, and a swing on the concrete slab beneath the house. There is three additional parking spaces in front of the house and a long parking space that will accommodate a truck and boat trailer. Only 12 stairs up, the home has a wrap around deck on three sides with a gas grill. You can see the sun and moon rise from the deck. The entry also has a screened in deck if you choose to eat outside. NO PETS ALLOWED. The home has a nautical theme with vinyl wood like floors throughout, white distressed furniture and beautiful wall hangings. It sleeps up to 6 people with 2 full baths. There are 2 bedrooms, and a queen size air mattress. The kitchen has everything you need, including , toaster, 1 cup pod coffee maker, microwave, blender, and crockpot. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes, wine glasses, cooking utensils, eating utensils, and plastic containers with lids. The table sits 4 and the bar sits 3 in the kitchen. There is also a washer and dryer. The sitting area has a leather couch, loveseat, and recliner. The fireplace is electric with a remote control plus there is central heat and air.
